I was going to purchase a Dodge Durango from Mills Auto Mart. I got laid off of work & got behind in my payments. I tried on several attempts to come to some sort of arrangement to obtain possession the Durango back. I spoke to the owner, Martin Mills, & made an appointment to meet him. I wait there an hour while his office staff tried several times to contact him by phone. He never called back nor did he show for our appointment. I then tried several times to contact him at his office, by phone & email. He never received a call back or a response to my emails. I understand I got behind after I was laid off of work. I do not deny that at all; however, I kept in constant contact with his office, especially Monica the office manager. I finally got back to work & had made arrangements with Monica to come in and make a payment. He then sent to have the Durango picked up a few days before that arranged date. When I contacted him regarding my payment date arrangement he then told me his office did not have the authority to make those kinds of arrangements. I should have at least been notified that he could not stick our arrangement & maybe I could have worked something else out. Martin Mills seem to have a habit of not communicating with his customers. That is very poor business practices. He never gave me any chance to rectify this situation & now he is trying to charge for storage of the vehicle. I know he is going turn around & sell that problem retiled vehicle to another unsuspecting person & will get the money I paid, plus what he sell it for to the next person. I am very surprised he would not work out the Durango with us every way possible. Especially since it had mechanical problems from the first day I test drove it. Had I not been desperate for transportation since my car had died that weekend & I needed to get to work on Monday, I would not have bought a car from his lot. Mills unfortunately happen to be the only car lot in the area open on a Sunday. The Durango would not stay running while in park and his so called mechanics could not seem to figure that out. I had to have him replace the ball joints on the front since our mechanic looked at it before trying to do a front end alignment & advised us on how dangerous that was to drive. This took Mills four days & left me without transportation during that time. Then out of our own pockets we gave it a complete tune up, including filters & wires AND replaced the drivers side mirror that his sales guy told us they would replace. Their sales guy also told us the latch on the tail gate would be fixed & the Durango cutting off in park would have been fixed. I also reported to the next day that when the Durango was taken on the expressway it would jerk when the vehicle would reach 50 MPH. Funny he stated that in the four days he had the Durango his mechanic tested this & it did not happen to him; however, every time we drove it after that & it reached 50 MPH the vehicle would jerk every single time. I understand also, that when you buy a used car you will assume it to have certain defects or problems. After all, its a used car, not a new car but to have the numerous issues, numerous large issues, is asking too much from a customer to just accept. Its sad that he feels he can treat customers this way. People rely on him to be honest and true to his word.

Mills Auto Mart finaces thier cars by them selves, and rip you off doing it. Sure they will work with you, but your car wont last long.
There are used car places off of Edgewood in Jacksonville FL, Mills Auto. I got into a car accident, and I needed a car to help me get to and from to work, so I could Take care of my 2 baby's. They took me in, and Boy did they wrip me off. I wounderd WHY they had cars BLOCKING their entrance to thier lot from the inside. You see that? RUN!!! That means they are trying to keep your car that you buy in, not let you out. I got my car, and was in there the SECOND day I baught it.. The radiator blew while I was coming home from work, and picking kids up from daycare. They wouldn't pay for the towe truck, and I had to get the car there, by a guy who pulled my car there. And the car became a little damaged while towing it, due to the stearing being WAY off, and the brakes sticking...You want to know what the owner did? CALLED the cops and reported an accident to the car. I was still makeing payments on it, and HE charged me for the fixing of the radiator, and for the bumper, and headlight. I had my kids with me, and I had NO way home. I stayed there all day crying, and STILL this guy wouldn't help us get home.. Finally one of his employees decided to give me and my kids a lift home. But how was I to get my car back when I had no transportation to get back. I ended up getting a friend to drive me back. The owner wanted a payment before I could take the car off the lot.. I was coming to make a payment, and they had my engine out of the car, Wheels LOCKED> I couldn't get my car and the people were gone save one sales man.(The owner and mechanics like to hide in the back buildings). That is when they told me I had to pay that car off FULLY before I could take it home.

MILL AUTO ***!!!! Do NOT go there. I told them to keep that *** car, and I was NOT giveing them anything else for it. I got ripped off majorly... Don't let this happen to you. PLEASE...
