.

The USSA Wine School is located on campus at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts, Miam and classes were scheduled Monday and Tuesday nights between 7p and 10p. The atmosphere was very professional with knowledgeable instructors. Classes were taught in groups of about 20 students allowing for us to get an intimate knowledge of the various wine regions, learn how to blend and make wine, sensory tasting evaluation, theory, service and blind tasting techniques.

The cost of the school was well worth it and I decided to take the test offered for certification at the end of the course. It was difficult as you have to taste 6 wines blind and evaluate them. Mainly they were looking for any wine faults, varietal identification, geographical identification, age, and quality plus which foods go best.

We had separate seminars on wine blending, Riedel wine glass comparisons, food and wine pairing, networking events, service styles and many others. All in all I met really nice people whom all enjoyed wine and the people whom administer the classes were very friendly and informative.

Pros: Lots of information, high quality materials and wines, professional environment, easy to get to.
