Found Dive Duck Key fairly close to our vacation spot. The employees seemed friendly enough, price for scuba rentals was just right, but the blow came AFTER we returned the equipment. I was told by a younger blond know-it-all type female employee that the oxygen tank was returned below the required psi and I had to pay extra money. I told her that we were never told there was a specific number it had to be at, and she replied, "Well, we probably DIDN'T tell you. This is a very busy time for us and sometimes we forget." She then pointed to the policy in about a 10pt font amongst 15 other policies. She continued to say that she normally underlines and circles it, but it OBVIOUSLY was not her that checked us out.
I would not return to this dive center if I had comparable options nearby. This just left a bad impression of the entire dive duck key business.

I just returned from Hawks Cay and booked 3 trips with Dive Duck Key. I am an experienced diver returning from a long break and my daughter is a newly qualified PADI Junior OW Diver. This was her first "real" dives and her Open Water qualifying dives were done in an inland lake.

We went to Dive Duck Key the day before to see where it was and what we should do etc. We were made immediately welcome in the shop and the boat the Seafari was moored outside. Very impressed with both. The boat is really nicely laid out for diving with a large swim deck on the rear. Entry and exit are both from the rear of the boat. Defog and rinse bins are provided right at the back and there is bench and dry storage. Our first trips were pretty empty with about 10 guests, most on SNUBA and just us diving so we were spoilt for space. The last trip was a full boat and while you needed to be a bit more careful with getting your gear in order the layout worked well and we didn't feel cramped or rushed.

The dives were planned for shallow reefs which was exactly what I wanted. The shallow reefs were teeming with fish life and although this was in December visibility was pretty good and the water still at 75degs so we were comfortable in 3mm wetsuits. Saw a few Nurse Sharks, Green Morays, Stingrays and a huge variety of other reef fish. I believe that they have further off shore and deeper dives available but that was not what we went for.

We ended up taking 4 dive trips over the Christmas week and I was completely happy with Dive Duck Key and their staff. My daughter had a brilliant introduction to diving. I would have no hesitation recommending them to anybody.

They also do "SNUBA" which would be a great introduction to under the sea for someone wondering about whether to take up SCUBA as a hobby. Why anyone would be undecided about that is beyond me but it might happen :-)

I went on a scuba trip with Tilden's at Hawks Cay and it was one of the best decision I ever made. The price was a little high, but it was definitely worth it. I felt completely safe with the crew and the trip was overall amazing. I highly recommend this business to anyone!
