I've known this place to exist for about 20 years and finally decided to give it a try.

The people are very friendly, the food is mostly good but very, very over priced. Although the menu indicates salad and Italian bread are included, pasta is not, it is $2.00 extra. I never knew of and Italian restaurant not to include pasta but in the case of La Forchetta it is better to have it not included. The Italian bread was pizza dough not bread. We were asked if we wanted onion on the salad and we declined but when served, the salad had a distinct onion flavor, making me think that they are pre-made and the onion is removed for those that don't want any.

The pasta could be improved by changing the sauce to ketchup or dramatically improved by adding Ragu. Since this is a small (presumably family owned restaurant) I would have expected ?an old family recipe tomato gravy". The pasta was al dente plus, (overcooked) It was nice to try once and we will probably try the overpriced pizza 18" is $24.00, 16" is $20.00 at sometime in the future but La Forchetta will not see me as a customer in the future. I observed, what appeared to be, a good repeat clientele but sadly, coming from a predominately Italian family, I will not be one of those. Once more to try the pizza and that's it.

The place has great potential but I think they are content with high priced mediocrity. Please note that they are closed on Sunday, a day that I would have thought could be a big money day.

We've been to La Forchetta three times and every time the Veal Francese is fanastic. I've never had better and I've tried it in a lot of Italian restaurants. The atmosphere is homey; they treat you like family. The garlic bread is wonderful, as is the regular bread served with meals. The dinner salad could use a little imagination, but the entres make up for any shortcomings anywhere else. On my next visit, I hope to save enough room for the homemade Tiramisu, which I've heard is to die for.

Pros: great food, friendly service

Cons: parking, dinner salad

This place is really good if you are looking for authentic Italian food. I have been three times now since finding it by accident. The food is always wonderful. Try the Eggplant, calimari, schrimp scampi, and you must have the Garlic bread with cheese. It is down right sinful. They also have very nice wines, many of which you can only get in their restaurant. The place is small but very nice for an intimate date. The service was also very nice. They are very friendly. I think everyone has been there for years. My last visit the waitress mentioned being there for 15 years now. I definitely am hooked and will be trying the pizza this weekend which I heard is wonderful. They do have carry out if you want to grab and go for home.

Pros: food, service, quality meal

Cons: small, wait if during dinner, not open on Sundays

Small noisy but fun mom and pop place, very authentic, the meatballs and spaghetti, and the veal parmagiana are to die for. The clams oreganata appetizer is huge delicious and worth the wait. This place is the real NY Italian deal. I think that they need to offer free refills on sodas, however. There is a wait during peak times because it is small, but the food is top-notch Italian. The pasta is very fresh as are all the ingredients.Go!!

Pros: cozy, authentic, delicious food, Mama is a riot

Cons: crowded , noisy, no soda refills

this is probably the most authentic Italian restaurant in all of central florida. It's not a chain, it's a small family owned and operated restaurant that has home made pastas, breads, and real Italian food. The gnocchi pasta is wonderful, the veal is real veal, and the seafood is to die for. Try the lobster ravioli, or the orange salmon. There is no place else I would go for Italian food, that's for sure. And, FYI, the pizza is awesome too!
