Following up behind a sudden & scary hospital emergency room visit, I took my wife to see Dr. Muru the following day and her office was exceptionally accommodating to work us in to their schedule. We are young seniors, so we have had a lift time of experiences with a wide variety of medical care, but Dr. Muru definitely ranks among the best doctors we have encountered and we are both very comfortable and appreciative to be under her continued care. She is very matter of fact and highly informative with her interaction, advice and instructions, etc. and that is what we really like best, because she doesn't waste time with needless or irrelevant chatter just to win a popularity contest and she did take the time to answer every question we had. Dr. Muru simply stayed focused on what was really important and seemed to show a sincere interest in helping my wife recover which left us very confident about being under the care of Dr. Muru and we felt others might also benefit from our experience, so we hope this post is helpful.
I like Dr. Muru, FINALLY someone got it right and I am pain free for the last 5 days. I did however get a headache today but now I dont feel cripled to life because I cant go anywhere or do anything without getting a headache. I was getting fed up, had headaches since 10 yrs old. Now I can enjoy my life, thanks Dr. Muru :)
I will echo what I read from the other two reviews and I wish I had read them before I went to her. Do not go to this doctor. She is not good at all. She does not listen to you. All she does is write notes on her little computer and she never gets them correct. I went to her for 3 visits because of my concussion and I should have listened to my instincts after the first visit. But it was hard for me as I was in so much pain. She is unable to provide answers or reasons to your problems. She also provided me a prescription for symptoms that I do not have. I never picked up the medication because I knew when I was in my last visit with her that it was my last. What a waste. I will be seeing a new DR to help me.
She is unable to provide answers/ reasons to your problems. She provided prescription for symptoms that I do not have. She was very rude and unprofessional because I did not take the prescribed medication. She was very angry and scolded me for rescheduling my appointment prior to this visit. Even after I explained that it was a financial issue, she yelled with sarcasms asked me "What do you want me to do since you're not taking your pills or keeping your appointments? Why are you here today?" I told her that I was hoping that she'd help me find a reason for my migraines. She then claimed that I'm depressed and rudely said "as long as I have a head I will have headaches." I was charged $40 to hear "as long as you have a head then you'll have headaches"! She is located at 613 Medical Care Dr. Brandon, FL 33511 Her full name is Dr.Alamelu Murugappan
My first experience with Dr. Muru was when I was admitted to Brandon Hospital with horrible headaches, blurred and double vision, body aches, neck pain, sensitivity to light, low blood pressure, nausea, vomiting and dizziness. She was asked to see me by my regular neurologist who was out of the office at the time. When she first came into my hospital room she was extremely rude in the ways of her mannerism with me at a time of feeling so ill telling her that I need to give her more than just one word answers, then she abruptly asks my very good friends to leave the room so she could speak to me alone. The worst part is yet to come after repeatedly asking me if I could be pregnant and basically forcing me to take a pregnancy test, I revealed to her there is no way possible that I could be pregnant do to the fact that I am a lesbian. From there she asked are you sure you??re a lesbian? You don??t ever want to have a husband and children? As sick as I was and having to defend myself against a homophobic doctor, the person who is supposed to be non-judgmental and there to help those in need it made me feel even worse and that she wouldn??t put my health as her priority. So she finally ordered a spinal tap after the MRI/MRA and CT Scan that the ER Physician ordered came back clear. So the morning after the Spinal Tap the nurse that day came in and told me my Spinal Tap results were clear and that I was being released from the hospital. Not 30 minutes later I received a call on my cell phone from Dr. Muru that I had Viral Meningitis and that my white cell count was up. After asking my round of questions that I had for her my mother also wanted to speak with her and she had the blunt attitude to tell my mother that she worries too much. Why would my mother not be worried? I was released from the hospital being told that I was fine and then we get a call saying it??s Viral Meningitis. I believe that my mother has every right to be worried. So onto today I had a follow-up with Dr.Muru at her office. After waiting 45 minutes in the waiting room, I was taken to the back and once she came in she said, ??It??s nice to meet you??. Then she asked me, ??Have we met before?? Then she began to scold me that I didn??t fill out my paperwork correctly that nowhere on the paperwork did it state that I was there for a hospital follow-up, how was she suppose to know who I was. After telling her I am still having very bad symptoms of the meningitis such as headaches, nausea, vomiting, body aches, burning sensations, neck pain and dizziness and not filling well at all she only said you just need a lot of rest to get over the viral meningitis that it takes a while to recover from it. So I said ok with still no answers of why I am feeling bad so long but I just assumed she was right and that it will take a while to recover from the meningitis seeing that??s what my PCP confirmed as well. So then I told her that my job will be sending paperwork for her to fill out stating that I will need to be out of work for a couple more weeks to recover. She then said ??If they send me that paperwork I will put patient is able to return to work, there is no reason for you not to return to work you??re fine?. No reason for me not to return to work after she just told me I need plenty of rest and I am still having very serious symptoms of the meningitis. My whole experience with Dr. Muru has been nothing less than a complete nightmare and I can only hope that before seeing this doctor everyone will give it a lot of thought. I have never met and hope to never met a doctor that is this rude and judgmental to her patients again. I believe if this has happen to me it must of happened to others as well and will continue to happen unless she is stopped.
