My wife and I received a mass mail postcard offering a free appetizer or dessert from the restaurant. We had seen it from the outside before, driving past. Looked nice.

Well, we finally got around to visiting. It was a Tuesday night. We arrived around 6 p.m. and the parking lot was fairly empty. When we entered the restaurant, there were customers at 2 or 3 other tables. We were promptly seated. Lots of wood - floors, table, chairs, etc. Well lit, but very cozy at the same time. There's a balcony or porch for warmer weather (we visited in January).

Our host and waitress were both very courteous. We opted for the free appetizer. Fried zucchini. There's enough for probably 3 people, about 8 pieces. A zucchini is sliced thinly lengthwise, then dipped in batter and fried. Not overly thick like some places, and came with a salsa or marinara type sauce. Very good.

Main course was a filet steak for the wife, and tortellini for me. The red wine sauce on her steak was okay, but not to our (personal) taste. She likes her steaks cooked all the way through, which is the way it was brought to the table. She was able to sub rice for the normally offered garlic mashed potatoes. My tortellini, served in a cream type sauce with proscuitto ham and red bell pepper, was very very good.

Dessert: I had the tiramisu, which was probably the best I've had yet in the USA. My wife had the creme Brulee, also very good.

The main courses also came with salads. We tried both - the caesar and the house. Both good, and not just the standard lettuce with a tomato wedge or two.

Portions were very generous. We took enough with us to have a decent meal the next day. Bread and a dipping olive oil is brought to the table before dinner.

As of now, there are no alcoholic beverages served. A good wine or beer with an outstanding meal fits - but we managed with just a bottle of the San Pellegrino water. There may be a change to this in the future, according to our waitress.

As the night went on, more people came in, making the restaraunt at least half full. Not bad for a Tuesday night!!!

Overall, this is as good as it gets here in Crestview. Highly recommended.

The Wild Olive is not a great place to dine but is a wonderful place to take friends to chat. As a group we go there once a week for lunch. Theres no wait for food and the service is jsut wonderful.

We went to the Wild Olive looking for a good meal. We were pleasantly suprised to not only have a great meal, but also cuisine that is out of character for small town Crestview. If you are looking for a special place to go for a meal...Wild Olive is your place!

Delicious, great ambiance, and super service!

Totally recommend this experience to anyone!!!
