I lived in Philadelphia for 6 months and got addicted to cheesesteaks (Geno's, Pat's, Chink's, Jim's, and even Genuardi's Deli!). Since moving to Florida, the only good Cheesesteak places I found were Big Al's and Zio's (both in Delray Beach). They both have great steaks, but I prefer Zio's only because the parking is easy, you can eat inside wth air conditioning (it gets hot in Florida during the summer!), and the bathrooms are cleaner and easy to access. But if you want to grab a great authentic Philly cheesesteak, Big Al's (or Zio's) is the place!

Pros: The Cheesesteaks!

Cons: Bathroom is hard to access. Outdoor seating only.

As someone from Philadelphia I can say that I have been unable to find any more authentic Steak Sandwich (and I've been searching for 11 years since I moved to South Florida). As for Jim C.'s negative review, I can only assume that his cheesesteak expertise is akin to his mastery of spelling (Hey Jim, I'm pretty sure we all learned how to spell cheap in 2nd or 3rd grade). Anyway, for a gourmet steak I wouldn't recommend Big Al's.. but for a real cheesesteak, I can't think of anywhere else to go...

I should have known what to expect of a steak from a place called "Big Al's" The meat was as cheep and off putting as the name. I would not recommend this place to anyone who is serious about their beef.
