Worst experience EVER ... I had previously leased a 2012 Hyundai Elantra, a year later,I not only purchased the Elantra outright, but I also bought a 2012 Sonata on the same day.

A year later my situation changed, I came in to trade the two cars in for 1 bigger car. They evaluated my cars, both of which were in great condition, the Elantra had a dent in the hood due to a rock hit coming off a truck and the Sonata basically sat Garage kept the whole year due to my illness, so it had almost the same miles and was in the same condition as when I bought it a year previously. When I got back their evaluation on the cars, they offered me well below Bluebook value on both cars. I had paid over $28,000 for the two cars a year previously and they were offering me $16,000 on the two combined a year later. They offered $6000 on the Elantar that I had paid $12,000 for a year ago and $10,000 on the Sonata that I had paid $16,000 on the previous year. The worst part is they tried to play me for a fool saying how their cars depreciate faster and don't hold their value. A whole load of BS, and I knew it.

I got up and walked out, but that is not where the story ends. The next day I hear back from Hyundai, they call to offer me a lease on a brand new car, saying that they would take my two trades as a down payment on a lease and that I would have to pay them $135 a month. So not only in 3 years would I have spent an additional $4,800 but I would walk away with no equity at all. Then the salesman tries to tell me how I am better off this way.

I have given this company my business the past few years and this is how they treated me, I can only imagine how many people they have tried to rip off in the past. In the end I ended up going to CARMAX on Nebraska Ave. CARMAX gave me $10,000 on the Elantra and $12,000 on the Sonata a difference of $6000. Very very BIG gap there, don't you think.

Make of it what you will, but BUYERS BEWARE, please do your due diligence before making ANY deal with Wesley Chapel Hyundai. Please check out other dealers, ESPECIALLY CarMax as not only did they do the right thing by me, but they were professional, courteous, and made the WHOLE process of buying a car easy, fun and enjoyable instead of stressful.

I had purchased my second car at the Wesley Chapel Hyundai and during the process i stated that I had a pre-approval letter from Sun Coast Credit Union and I thought things would be seemless. That was not the case. Remember that when you have a pre-approval letter from a bank or credit union you do not need to give the dealership your social security number. During the final paperwork process the Credit Manager asked for my social security number to confirm I still had good credit. He explained to me that it was like when you buy a house that they have to run your credit one more time. This is actually not true. What the Credit Manager did was run my credit and created a new loan application under his name without using the pre-approval so that he would get credit for the loan. i did not find this out until a few weeks later when the Credit Union called me and asked if I was still going to use the loan that they had approved for me. I explained to them that I already used the loan a few weeks ago. After their research they found out that the Credit Manager did not use my Pre-Approval they created a whole new one under their information to get credit. Now by doing this the dealership get credit and more money from the credit union then they were entitled to get and I lose $250 as I am now not eligible for the special credit union incentives. I called the dealership and left a few messages and I never once got a call back from the General Manager at the dealership. I left a few messages with the Sales Manager who sold me the car and again no call back. I would be very careful going to this place ever as you might find you are having a fast one pulled on you as well. Stay away from this location.

Shopped five dealers before we found one that listened to what we wanted, thanks Bob Z and Ron for helping us get a new Elantra at a great price with no headaches.
