Considering the options in Navarre, Bayou Bob's has fairly decent entrees; however, their service has a lot to be desired. Each time we've gone it's gotten worse, to the point tonight we decided the next time we want catfish we'll drive to Milton--it'd probably be quicker. We were seated in the bar area, and although it was early and not busy, it took over 10 minutes before we were greeted by a server--and the service continued downhill! Tonight was a last-chance; they blew it--we won't return. Baked potatoes are not offered as sides, and their coleslaw is extremely dry with no flavoring. You get two very small hushpuppies that are also dry with little taste.

First impressions of the place is that it looks like someone ate and threw-up Cajun decor. The owners must have got the stuff on sale at the flea market, because it is tacky. Food is overpriced, especially what I ordered - Red beans and rice. It's really hard to screw up red beans, so that is what I ordered. I like to order something simple, especially Cajun since my husband and inlaws make the real thing. They were just okay... like I said above that the place is so-so. Later the red beans made me sick. The meals were overpriced for lunch and the portions were ridiculously big.

Surprised they are still in business.

Pros: Finally a Cajun restaurant in Navarre

Cons: Food wasn't that good, overpriced

The food is okay, not great. A little pricey.

On several occasions, my husband and I (and with our friends sometimes) have had to wait 15-30 minutes for a table, when there are plenty of open tables. Then we get seated in one of the little tables by the bar that has been open since before we got there. Then the next group that comes in is seated right beside us in another table by the bar that has been open since before we got there. That was a couple with 2 kids crammed on one of the smallest tables they have, and by the bar. It's as though after 7:00 they try to cram everyone together and don't let anyone sit at certain tables. Definitely not worth the wait or the hassle!!

I thought the food was okay, but not worth the price you pay. It was not busy at lunch time and the service was quick and the servers were nice. It is worth trying out, but I do not know that I would go back a second time. They did have a lot of variety on the menu.

PROS: Variety on the menu
CONS: Pretty Expensive

My family of 5 (2 adults, 3 children) ventured out to try Bayou Bob's on a Friday night. There was no wait. The food was pretty good. I had fried shrimp with red beans and rice, my husband had the shrimp alfredo, two of my children had the fried shrimp and the other had ravioli. The food had a nice Cajun taste. The fried shrimp (even for the children) were large. I do wish fried shrimp meal had come with two sides though. The fried shrimp meal was $13.95 with one side, and to get red beans and rice as a side and extra $.50.The shrimp alfredo was $14.95.The kids meals did come with a scoop of ice cream, which I would have rather had a dollar off the kids meal with an option of paying a dollar for ice cream.Overall, the food was a little overpriced for us. But if you are in the mood for Cajun food, it might be a decent option.

Food seemed saturated in grease, with taste and after effects you would expect. Walk around back, outside the kitchen and the stench is similar to the parking lot of any greasy spoon joint when the time of day and weather conditions are just right. Definitely will not return to this restaurant.
If heartburn and diarrhea are your idea of a cheap thrill, there are far less pricey establishments that will do almost as good a job.
