As a happy customer from the past I recommended this doctor to many of my friends and business associates. About two years ago, I had my teeth cleaning done at his clinic for $185 that I think is reasonable if the clinic is great. While I had trust to this doctor and his clinic, I scheduled an appointment for teeth cleaning for myself and my girlfriend. I got suspicious of my bill and did the research on a internet, then realized that we were charged 10 times above the average price for the cleaning and four times above what the most expensive doctors in America charge!

If the average price for the standard teeth cleaning range from $50 to $100 and the best clinics charge $150 including doctor??s consultation. I don??t mind paying $185 if the clinic is spectacular. Alberto Suarez charged my girlfriend $900 for the standard teeth cleaning (not deep but standard) while she had her last cleaning done with other great dentist in Miami less than a year ago for $150. According to the research on the internet, the standard tooth cleaning takes from 30 min to 1 hour. On her first appointment they spent less than 15 minutes with her all together, including cleaning, ex-rays (that we did not ask for) and one minute look by doctor, leaving many black spots behind. She was told to come back for the next available appointment which is in 3 weeks. Here is her bill: $185 for cleaning, $375 for x-rays (while she had them done recently with other dentist, it was done without her permission) and $65 for the doctor to take a look for under one minute, without providing any type of consultation. Total of $625 for less than 15 minutes in clinic.

On a same day I had my cleaning done as well, also less than 15 minutes all together, including cleaning, partial x-rays and one minute doctor??s look, not consultation. The cost was: $185 for cleaning with many black spots left behind, $75 for partial x-rays and $65 for one minute doctor??s look. Total: $325. I was told to come back for the deep cleaning on a next available appointment, which will be in 3 weeks (together with my girlfriend).

During our second appointment, they spent less than 15 minutes to finish tooth cleaning for my girlfriend (less that 15 min on a first appt all together and less than 15 min on a second appt) and charged her an additional $185 for cleaning and $90 for fluoride treatment that they did not do! Total: $275 plus $625 for the first appt = $900 for standard tooth cleaning? That??s SIX times above what even better looking clinic on Brickell charged her 11 months ago for the same thing!

My second appointment was complete RIP OFF as well. While average price of deep cleaning for all FOUR parts of the mouth range from $400 to $1,000 depending on a clinic ($200 to $500 for half of mouth), I was charged $525 for each quarter ($1,050 for half mouth) while this work is not even done by doctor, it is done by dental assistant. In addition they gave me a bottle of disinfecting mouthwash and added it to the bill for $30 extra, while the same bottle sells in CVS without prescription for $7.

Alberto Suarez, DDS has been in business for over 20 years at the same location and did a great job in past. At this time he is ready to retire and only works less than 12 hours a week. At this time he takes advantage of customer base that he build for the past 20 years the people who trust him. In exchange for the trust he just RIPPING them OFF, before he completely retires. If this is what he does now, he does not even care about loosing his doctor??s license at this point. Just grab what he can and run. Do you want to go to such dentist? Do you want to pay $40 USD for ??Big Mac? instead of $4 just because you are wealthy?

Pros: Used to be great few years ago

Cons: Ripping OFF the clients who trust him, ready to retire.
