My husband and I just got back from the All You Can Carry Sale. I was surprised it was so neat and clean for a junkyard. We got front seats, carpets and door panels for $80. I feel like I have a new car.

The Staff at Ace was very helpful. I was able to find several cars that had the part i was looking for. The information and location of the vehicles was a big help saving me time and i was charged a great price for what i needed.

I've been headed to junkyards all my life, and this one is one of the best. They know what vehicles are in their yard, and I don't have to walk through mud or jack up the truck to get my part off.\r\n\r\nThese guys are the real deal.

Ace had the transmission I needed to get my Jeep running. It was cheap and the truck was easy to pull from, and they had wheelbarrows for me to use. The place was busy, but I got in and out pretty quick on Saturday. The line didn't seem any worse than Walmart on a busy day.

I do not think it is satisfactory where the owner writes a review "called clearing up the confusion", but did not clear up anything. I was on my way there to look for a part, but I do not think this company will get mybusiness. It is pure arrogance to treat customers this way. These are people that are spending their money at your business. You should show tact even if a customer is wrong. To respond negatively, be of little help, or act in a manner that is rude is not only extremely unprofessional for a business, but shows a profound lack of maturity. Immature people are not able to hold their tongues. The mature thing would consist of getting all of these employees in a meeting and saying "hey, we are losing business (they just lost mine) we need to be more helpful and nicer to the customers no matter what. If the customers are rude, so what, if we are nice to them, we still get their money. They're still paying for something." To do anything other than that is childish and arrogant.

I like the place. Everything is on stands, no fields of grass and tipped over cars. Their place looks like a parking lot, and thats a good thing. Lots of cars to look at. People complain, but I'm get a smile every time I come in and the prices are better then anything I could find at a store.

They are surly, rude and thoughtless. They treat their customers like trash. They are overpriced and definitely not worth the gas it takes to get there. If you have a choice, go somewhere else.

Wow! I am glad to see other people that have done (or tried) bussiness with Ace comming foward and writing up a review on their trip to them. I have used this salvage yard quite a few times over the years ONLY to try and find parts that I am unable to find at other local yards. I live in Orange Park, so it is quite a drive to the NS to go here. I dred it every time because I know that once there it will be a 20 to 30 min wait at the entrance and if I do find what I need an even longer wait to check out. They are also very paranoid about theft. I know it happens and I know they dont want it but they go too far when it comes to searching you. I once had them try and check my wifes purse and I reminded them that they do not have the right to search peoples personal belongings without positive proof that they have something on them.

Pros:

Great selection of parts
Parts are normally in good shape

Cons:

Prices are not in line with other yards - sometimes 10 or so dollars less than new dealer item
Staff is rude and lazy
no up front pricing when asked or no list of fees at gate
Fla ID required to enter and no one under 18 allowed in yard, makes it hard when you want to make your lazy teenage son work
EXTREME checkout time
Shady "specials" with hidden fees or exceptions no told until time of check out
They try and search EVERYONE that leaves, even if you paid!

Bottom line here is try other yards and use the ACE-holes as a last resort before the dealer.

oh this place, absolutely the last place within 100 miles of me that i would chose to do business with. they usually have the part and are the closest to me doesnt matter . i would rather spent the fuel and travel much further than go thru the ordeal of dealing with these people .just guessing but this management must have learned their style from the government. a stony clueless face if you ask for details or a firm price ,a long wait coming or going, if they cant find your part description well pay the fee for abuse and go for a stroll , the price will be closer to the new factory part than you like to think so most people leave a pile of un purchased items .you dont have enough money to afford to shop here

No matter how long you have been in business - bad business is just that BAD business - DO NOT SHOP HERE we bought parts for a Nissian - got it to the shop and the pieces were dry rotted - they fell apart before we could get the car in the air - called the junk yard and stated what happened, they will only give a 30 day credit - NO REFUND!! - How lame is that?????. I paid with cash this morning and now taking it back this afternoon what happened to the cash I gave them this morning????? Well - I have also reported them to the BBB of Jacksonville, they really need to shut this place down - to charge 3.00 to get in to view car parts that are dry rotted and no good - I don't understand that concept!!!!

At first I got lost trying to find the place because it doesn't have a readable sign from a road's perspective plus it looks like a construction site from afar. Therefore I literally was driving back and forth slowly on both sides of the road to read the building number which by the way does not match. It was a holiday and they were open; good. And despite requiring a state ID I was able to get in by just showing my military ID. I stated what I wanted and I was given a list of "compatible" vehicles that would have my part. Only one vehicle on the list was truly compatible and it did not have the part. So to take full advantage of my $3 entrance fee I decided to browse around and notate any parts for future reference. Regardless of what others say, I was treated with dignity. I got up-front pricing before I went in and did not experience a long line. Yet again, it was a holiday.

Pros: Organized, good assortment of vehicles, near fair prices, free cart to carry tools/parts, you can browse all you want for as long as you want without being questioned

Cons: Can't buy what's not on the printed list, cars are inventoried but not the parts so no guarantee that you will find that part you are looking for, you are not allowed to bring a defective part to match the part you seek (understandable since they do not inventory parts and can't distinguish what's theirs from yours), no indoor office for customers registering for entrance so we are exposed to the elements

My wife and I went to the Ace Pick-A-Part today 11-28-2009. We are fixing up an older truck and thought we would go by there and see if they had any parts we needed. We told the girl at the entrance to the business we were looking for some interior trim pieces and an AC switch. So we were looking and found a dash piece and an ac switch that was laying in the floor board of a vehicle that had already been removed. I was excited we found a couple of the parts we were looking for, so we started back up to the front of the property to pay for the parts and when we got to the cashier we couldn??t believe that there were over 50 people waiting in line. I counted them this was about 255pm and the reason I know what time it was is because my son called me about watching the football game. We were in the line for a while and my wife noticed that there was a piece of plastic broken off of the switch, when I looked at it closer I noticed that there were several pieces broken on the AC switch because whoever pulled it out of the vehicle had broken them off. I told my wife I might be able to make it work with the existing switch we have, so when we got up to the cashier one hour and fifty minutes later I told an employee who was checking parts about the plastic pieces that were broken and he said he would let me buy the AC switch for $10.00 (normal price for working switch is 35.00) and I said ok. Well the cashier that was a RED HEADED LADY and she is also the owner??s sister was giving me the price she said 35.00 and I replied nicely that the other employee said we could buy it for 10.00 she said why the price is 35.00 I told her that several pieces were broken and she picked it up to look at it and said this is a fresh break to me (real smart like) and I said what are you insinuating that I broke it? Why would I come up here to fix a broken part by buying a broken part? Then she said to the employee that told us that we could have the part for 10.00 that she didn??t appreciate him giving customer prices in front of about fifty people waiting in line. He was embarrassed and told her it wouldn??t happen again, and then he took the part that we waited in line 1hr and 50 min. for and threw it in the garbage and told me and my wife they didn??t sell broken parts. It was wrong and the RED HEADED Woman shouldn??t have started a confrontation with me and my wife and then have the nerve to say we started it and when we were leaving said to us ??what goes around comes around?. The two guys that were in line behind us couldn??t believe she said that to us because they heard my wife when she told me the part was broken and they told the red head that also. I think her brother or the owner should have a serious talking to his sister or the two employees whichever it is. HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF YOU WAITED ALMOST TWO HOURS IN LINE TO GET YOUR PART THROWN IN THE GARBAGE? We went back about 30 minutes later to see about talking to the owner and found out that red headed lady was the owner or the owner??s sister. Two young ladies coming out said that the same lady wouldn??t let them buy their part because it wasn??t on their list they got when they came in.
