im a 27 year old with bad GASTRO problems, upon searching for a new DR i found Dr lavine. i read a lot of reviews about him and was kinda worried about how my appointment was going to go. Upon meeting Dr lavine he greeted me with a great handshake and a excited "hello Mr Ayres" he reviewed all my test results for the past two years from other DR's, then looked at me gave me a straight "shoot from the hip" opinion of what he thought about the other DR's findings...and then told me what he was going to do... this man is a true DR! all these other poor reviews are a far cry from who this man is! I'm so excited that I now have an awesome DR that doesn't waste time talking "CRAP" or ordering useless tests...WOW! please ignore the other moran's useless babble... DR LAVINE IS YOUR BEST BET IF YOUR SICK!

These doctors have a nice office, but they just don't take the time to listen. All they wanted to do every time I went to see them was to do tests, that were not necessary. They did not find out what was going on with me. I was referred to another gastroenterologist, who listened to me. He figured out what was going on, and started me on a treatment plan. I have had no complaints since, they have a nice office but they are overrated.

If you are sick, then you need him more than you know.
Without him, I would be dead.
I would not have had my children.
And I would not have lived to see them grow up.
He is methodical.
He is ornery.
He is brilliant.
He is difficult.
He is a phenomenal physician.
He is cranky.
He is intense.
He is professional.
He is on the cutting-edge of research.
He is well-connected in Orlando.
His office staff and partners are above reproach.
If you do WHAT the Man tells you to do, WHEN he tells you, exactly HOW he tells you, then you will get well. If you CAN be fixed, he WILL fix you.
Eight years ago, I was concerned about his abrupt bedside manner. Then, I realized, I had plenty of friends. What I needed was a good DOCTOR.
Friends, there is no better gastroenterologist in the area, perhaps in the Universe.
I trust this man with my life, and I am scared to death about what I will do when he retires.
In the order of men in my life, I offer you the following:
- God
- My husband
- Dr. Levine

Period. Amen. Call him now. You'll live to complain about him later.

I am sorry the previous writer had an unpleasant experience with this MD. We found this MD for my sister who went undiagnosed with Colitis for 1 1/2 years due her previous physicians (more than one) inability to properly do their job. My sister wound up in the hospital. During her stay, I heavily researched MD?s, and Dr. Levine has the absolute best credentials in that area. We called his office, explained what was going on and they got my sister right in. He had her symptoms under control in 1 visit. This was a HUGE relief because she had lost 35 pounds in 3 weeks and was severely sick. Thankfully, she did not need to have surgery, but she is on a maintenance plan and was initially seeing him every 2 weeks in the beginning and now she is up to every 8 weeks. Dr. Levine and his staff have been WONDERFUL to my sister. His nurses are fantastic, answer all her questions, and explain everything in detail. Dr. Levine is very abrupt and direct in his manner, but if you want the absolute best - you will look past his bedside manner. We would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Levine is the most rude and abrasive doctor I have ever encountered. Not only did I wait over an hour to see him with an appointment, when he finally did grace me with his presence, he questioned me as if i was being interrogated by the CIA. To top it off, he had me lay on my back to pinpoint the pain in my stomach. Obviously I was expecting this, however, I was not expecting for him to press so hard on my stomach that I was in severe pain for the rest of the evening. His "nurse" was pushy and did not explain a single thing to me. She practically threw my paper work at me before stalking away without answering my questions. If I haven't said enough to deter you from visiting this hellish doctor and his staff, let this be a warning to you: I left his office in tears.

Dr. Henry Levine has a background that boasts some of the best colleges and medical schools. But his excellence as a physician is also enhanced by his ability to deal with complex issues and difficult medical problems with a calm and confident manner.
One of the few physicians board certified in three different specialties, he knows how to deal with people in distress and make things better emotionally as well as medically. He is an example of what good communication and followup is all about.
His office reflects his professional manner by treating his patients with respect and true concern.
As a Northeasterner, we were not used to this type of treatment and even among Florida doctors he is well above the average. One hears statements in his office like, "He is the doctor to see when you really are sick" and "I didn't get any results from my other doctors; finally, I am getting better and he treats the whole patient...not just a disease."
If you have a tough problem with Crohn's Disease or irritible bowel syndrome, it is worth getting a second or third opinion from Dr. Levine.

Dr Levine is not your usual gastroenterologist. He examines your history and shows an intense interest in knowing you as a person. His method of arriving at a diagnosis is much like Dr. House on the great television series. By studying your information and all the data available he will make a differential diagnosis that rivals average physicians. His background of being Board Certified in three specialities: internal medicine, pediatrics, and gastroenterology demonstate that he is a medical scholar and a credit to his medical school...John Hopkins University.
What we liked about his approach is that he is not an alarmist and looks to improve his patients health out of caring and by recommending the minimal amount of testing and medicine and the greatest amount of common sense dieting and exercize. He will notice, for example, that the patient's AIC (three month diabetes level) is high and recommend a plan to lower it.
His entire office staff is committed to making your visit a pleasant one despite the fear you might be having. In our case we moved from New York and had to have records faxed to the office. The office staff made an extra effort to retrieve those records even though the originating doctor's staff was not cooperative.
At each stage the office called back to relate the progress it was making and finally got the records in time for the visit. When it came time to schedule a sonogram, the hospital didn't take our insurance, but the person stayed with us until we were scheduled with a radiologist who did and got us in the next day.
Dr. Levine will catch your attention by his intense love of medicine and of reaching the core of his patient's desire to be healthy. He is truly a credit to the medical profession. There are not many like him and we pray for his continued health and energy to touch as many lives as he can.
Dr. Levine combines modern medicine with old time caring that is so rare today.
