VERY POOR COMPANY. The service price triples from the price quoted on the phone to what you have to pay when they get there. The actually cleaning is TERRIBLE, the service people are really low end sales people in my opinion, and the owner of the company is nasty and difficult to deal with. They have another trick where they tell you they have the "leave" due to a "flood emergency" elsewhere- in order the appear busy and get out before they finish the work correctly. I would never recommend them under any circumstances

I have been in the market to clean 2 bedrooms. I found the ad for Precision in the Mint. I tore it out and put it aside.

This morning Ihad the time to read the reviews. There are many of the same complaints...has to be some truth here. Sounds like someone purchased this franchised territory and has no good intention of running an honest business. Just looking at ripping off the customer at any cost. Every review talks about the "rude" woman on the customer service end on the phone- this was frightening!

Thank gosh I found this sight and read this info first...too bad they are still in business.

Taking my business elsewhere.

We came home from a week of vacation to a flood in our first floor home. We opened the mint magazine and called precision carpet b/c we had no idea what to do considering we have never dealt with a water issue. Called them and had a service person come out and they walked in and knew they had a goldmine. We had 280 gallons of water and the service guy started rattling off everything that needed to be done including a 5000 dollar fee that we could pay 1800 that night (sat. night) and pay the rest in 2 weeks. I thought to myself, wow, 5K seems a lot but what are we going to do? We have 2 small kids, sat night and we needed the water removed.. so there they go start removing the water. He then proceeds to tell us about all the hazards of mold and damage and worse case scenario, sets up fans and humidifiers to dry the place out and out they go. Next day they come back and we've contacted our insurance company in which his eyes lit up and he knew he could take us for a ride- which he did. He got a verbal "approval" from our adjuster and decided to write up a new bill for the water removal and start ripping out our drywall (they did a horrible job), destroyed my house, didn't cover a thing, left it a mess and billed my insurance company 14,000 dollars for their horrible work. They did the work so fast before the insurance company approved contractor could get in there so that they could get the work done and get paid on it before the real contractor could come in and see what REALLY needed to be done.

WE are appalled at Precision Carpets business and will never use them again. Our insurance company typically would refuse to pay this company but didn't want to put any additional stress on our family b/c they know that Precision Carpet would come back and try to bill us for all that work...

Do not use Precision CARPET!

We had just bought a used house that needed some work to the carpets and we wanted to have them and some shower tile cleaned by a professional so my wife wouldn't have to work on her hands and knees. We decided to go with Precision Carpet as when we talked to there office they said that they could clean the carpets and the tile and our little bit of carpet repair was going to be a reasonable add on. I was expecting the push for up-sale when the cleaning guy showed up (you know the if you really want it clean you need to pay more for these extra chemicals and extra scrubbing and such), and we did pay for some extras. Unfortunatly they didn't really have much luck on the shower tile and my wife ended up still having to clean it again, but my biggest disapointment was that we asked for some small carpet repairs that would only have taken a profesional with the proper tools only about 10-15 minutes to do, but the person there to clean couldn't do the repairs. He was only a cleaning guy and a different guy would have to come out to do the repairs. We were hoping to get everything done at once, but we were now told that if we still wanted the carpet fixed then we would have to pay an extra fee of at least $75-100 just for that guy to show up, when we had scheduled the whole thing for that day and it was only giong to be about $15-25 extra for the carpet repair after paying for the cleaning. The Carpet cleaning portion did turn out fine but we still feel taken for when we could have gone with another company that would have taken care of all of it at once.

I definitely recommend Precision Carpet and I plan on calling them for any of my carpet/upholstery needs.

The employee did not honor discount coupon. My furniture is really clean, they had only to clean those areas exposed to the heavy traffic. The employee said that they have better equipment and better chemicals than SEARS and as it is white furniture needed pre-treatment. If I was not satisfied, I had to pay nothing for service. After only half an hour he was done. The furniture looked dirty in some areas. Asked employee to work on those areas. Said that my furniture had permanent damage. I demostrated him that the little spots were not permanent by brining a brush with a little bit of dish detergent. Asked him to call his manager. The manager very rude said that they are not SEARS that the employee made his best effort and I had to pay the full amount for the service (Not $80.00 as advertised but $137.00). I will never call this company again. PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE CALLING THEM.

Joshua Rodgers, the technician that cleaned my carpet today did an outstanding job with not only cleaning, but with providing me with an excellent overview of services and offering the best package that suited my needs. I changed my mind at least ten times before deciding on the best package - and Joshua was gracious and worked with me every step of the way . I never felt rushed or pressured.

First they told us over the phone that they would be here between 2 and 4, then we got disconnected. We called back and they lied and said they never said that. Then we made an appointment between 4 and 6. They showed up at 3:30, we were not yet ready in the second room. We told them upfront that we did not want any other service, just the 2 rooms and a hall for 34.99. We didn't even have the hall to do. They said the room had pets and was overly soiled and they would not do it but had to deodorize it and it would cost more. They were about to walk out and I came out and talked to the two sales agents and asked them 5 times, will you shampoo the carpet... they would not answer. I said it was worth the extra 10 dollars versus renting a machine because their chemicals, training and expertise are better than what I could do. They were offended at this and they walked out. They called their boss and had me talk to them. I said I just want the carpet cleaning like it says in the coupon. They said they also would not take a check here, only cash or a credit card. They even said by the way, they would even do it on the side if they weren't so offended. This is all crapola. I said it all about the upsell. By the way, they refers to the male sales agent that had a trainee. She never said a word and kept quiet. So I took my money elsewhere, to Winn Dixie, spent more than an hour in each room, and did a better job than they would have done in their 10 minutes of cleaning, all they did was waste my time and theirs, 20 minutes of arguing. It was such a simple matter, can you honor a coupon that you pay for? I guess not.

one glorious night, while we were out, our double-wide trailer was being "redecorated" with about 40 gallons of water, via an old water heater. initially, we contacted north florida restoration, who promised the world, despite my constant, clearly expressed concerns about cost. i just wanted them to do whatever they could with the little money we had already rec'd from insurance. as time passed (with nothing being done), the mold and mildew grew, and became a huge concern since my 7-yr-old son has asthma and allergies. we had to move in with my parents, and then to my in-laws a couple WEEKS later. meanwhile, still NO PROGRESS. i had all i could take of north fl restoration and their apparent hearing problems, so i called a random company out of mint mag. i am so glad that it was precision carpet, and not another hack, money-hungry, deaf company. the installer, jimmy mcelroy, listened to every last thing i had to say (he was sent to my home the same day i called) and did everything within his and the company's power to help me out. three days later, new pad and carpet were installed in the bedroom, and my entire home was cleaned as a pleasant bonus (neither of which were on the previous company's work order).

negative reviews are common, since we all want to voice our frustrations, but i wanted everyone in jax to know that precision carpet allowed us to move back home, keep my son healthy, and did everything i asked and more! don't make a mistake and call someone else. take it from a guy whose life has gone from bad to worse (save the love of my family): precision carpet was our saving grace. an actual blessing.

negative reviews are common, since we all want to voice our frustrations, but i wanted everyone in jax to know that precision carpet allowed us to move back home, keep my son healthy, and did everything i asked and more! don't make a mistake and call someone else. take it from a guy whose life has gone from bad to worse (save the love of my family): precision carpet was our saving grace. an actual blessing.

I wish I had read these reviews first. I too saw their advertisement in MINT Magazine...and wish I hadn't. I called to schedule an appointment and told them I had their $49.99 5 room house coupon. She told me that would be the price as long as there were no stains. My carpet was clean except for a slight pattern were we walk in the hallway. The technicians came out and look around and quoted me $178 because of "heavy traffic pattern stains" , which was ridiculous! I would have told them to leave if it weren't for the fact that I have to turn the keys in on the rental tomorrow. So my advice is to leave these crooks alone... If anyone has any advice on a good, reasonably priced company please let me know for the future.

I received a coupon in the Mint Magazine for this company. I called to make an appointment, I explained to the lady that I had one spot in my carpet that I needed to get out. I explained the size and color of the spot! I also told her about the coupon that I had. The man got to my home he was about 1 hour late to begin with. After he got here he guaranteed me he could get the spot out! He was at my home for 22 minutes, then told me my total was over 100.00 when the coupon said it would only be 34.99! Before they cleaned the carpet and give you a total they ask for your credit card number! So you have no way of getting your money back if you are not happy.I told the owner that I was very unhappy with the job. The man who cleaned did not even move the furniture and the spot was still on the carpet! He told me I needed to call his boss. So I did, the lady on the phone was VERY RUDE!!! She said she would have the owner call me on Monday! Monday came and went he never called! I called again on Thursday only to get yelled at as well as cussed at! I was over charged and the job was awful! Do not use this company!

I asked him to call and have him call me. Surprise....no phone call. Then, here is the kicker, after all this, he calls the house around 6 pm and tells me he is on his way to my house. I told him don't bother. The next day after leaving several messages with no return phone call, I finally spoke with the "office manager" and explained to her what had happened. She told me that there are two sides to every story. And that he claims I was rude to him. Not true, but what happened to "The customer is always right". She pretty much told me she did not believe my story. I asked to speak to the owner and was told he is out of town. You can bet I will be calling every day until he is back in town. No, I do not want anything from this company I just want the owner to know exactly what kind of people he has working for him.

On a plus not I did get my carpets cleaned from First Coast Carpet and they did an EXCELLENT job, showed up on time, and were in and out very quickly!

I scheduled an appointment to have my vacant condo's carpets cleaned on Saturday, Dec 29, 2007. The tech called to let us know he was near, he asked our location and when he found out we were on the third floor at the Reserve at James Island at the back of the building he told us that he's hose doesn't reach that far and he can't clean it.
I called Precision Carpet, told the person that answered what was going on. She told me that she was the one that had spoken to me. I informed her that my husband and I drove from Savannah, waited two hours for the carpet cleaner and wasted our time all because she didn't inform us that they don't have the capability to reach our unit.
She said 'sorry you should have asked'.
How am I supposed to know what their guys are equiped with? It is the responsibility of the rep making the appointment to ask the questions. How am I suppose to know they can't reach the back units on the 3rd floor but they can reach the front units?!?!?!? Carpets get cleaned all the time in various building levels. I'm suppose to ASK HER if they can clean on the 3rd floor!!!!!

I paid this company to clean my rug and this company returned my rug to me unclean, with a 4" x 6" hole burned completely through. The owner said he got a 'verbal appraisal' of my rug and offered me $1,400. My rug appraised for $3,000 - $3,200 and can not be replaced for less that $4,250. I'm headed to Small Claims Court. Check out consumer complaint histories on this business. I'm not the only dissatisfied customer. Unprofessional customer service by owner of this business.
