The Plaid Pelican

We had a great experience in dining Friday evening at the Plaid Pelican. The food was excellent and the staff very personable. This won't be a secret too long as word gets out and more and more people start coming. We experienced seafood and chicken and both were equally good. I sure hope as it starts getting more popular that the food won't go down in quality. We will be going back for more and quite often. Try it and enjoy a delicious meal.

Wow. I didn't expect that calibre of food to come out of such a humble little restaurant. It topped a lot of seafood dishes I have had at restaurants for twice the price. The setting is casual and clean. The owner, Paul, is quite a character and often comes out and chats with the customers. What a great find this was. If they will keep making the shrimp and grits I'll keep coming back.

I read about the Chef/Owner of the Plaid Pelican in the newspaper the past couple of weeks. My husband and I stopped in for dinner. It was the best seafood we have had in the upstate. My husband said even better than the coast. The fresh catch was awesome. The service was great and the atmosphere was inviting. We will definitely return with our friends! The location is out of the way, but well worth the trouble.

My wife and I chose to go to The Plaid Pelican for our aniversary. I can say we have eaten al over the world. We found the service and freshness of the food at The Plaid Pelican to be very high on our list of great places to eat.
We have been married for 5 years and we plan to make going to The Plaid Pelican our aniversary tradition.
Try the oysters. The Chef owner shucks them fresh daily, we had them grilled.It was the first time we've had them grilled, and I find myself craving them often.

my husband and i have dined at the Plaid Pelican six times. The first 2 meals were excellent. The last 4 were not good. The fried oysters were about the size of a dime. All we got was the breading. The chef sould have pulled them from the menu when he saw how small they were. Service was really bad. The waitress kept saying "i'm not really a waitress...i'm just helping out" I wanted another glass of wine and could not get someone too the table. I like the atmosphere and i suppose one day i will give it another chance, but, only one more.

I am the proud mother of a small infant who recently caught a horrible virus. After finally getting her to a comfortable sleep, I was starving. I called the Plaid Pelican about 5 minutes before closing and requested a delivery. Delivery orders should be called in 30 minutes before closing, but I was unaware of this policy. The owner allowed me to explain my situation and he agreed to help me out. Now that's service. + it's Excellent food in a timely manner.

My husband and I happened upon the Plaid Pelican on a business trip to South Carolina. The atmosphere was so quaint and the food was amazing. You MUST try the shrimp and grits and the stuffed mushrooms. The owner/chef is attentive to detail and has a clear "passion" for perfecting the dishes that are served.

I would recommend the Plaid Pelican to anyone!It has a quaint, clean and friendly atmosphere and wonderful food. The food is fresh and delicious. The staff is knowledgeable and experienced. I have enjoyed every meal at the Plaid Pelican and the variety of food is pleasing to all of my family and friends. It was so nice to be able to see the owner cooking the fresh food at every visit. It is a terrific restaurant!
