Hawks Nest State Park

Be forewarned - the jet boat ride is not just first come first serve as advertised. There is also a weight limit involved and we watched two boats go off with empty seats only to have our long awaited boat ride cancelled due to a rain. I suggested to the private operators that they do some of the seats on a paid reservation basis they did not see the point. Therefore I do not see the point in going again - who knows maybe we would have another long drive and two disappointed children if there is no option for reservations.

PROS: Park is great - awesome views, not too crowded
CONS: Jet Boat Boat does not take paid reservations - you might miss the boat

Nice and cozy with great ambiance. You will love this place. The staff is always accomodating and pleasant. Beautiful. Im sure you will want to stay forever.

The lodge is small and furnishings are nice and simple in nature. The prices are par with other area locations. However, the view and scenery at this location is like no other! Many weddings have been held here for the scenery and the food is excellent! Highly recommended to visit and stay for a couple of nights!
