My friends and I were visiting from out of town and went to this restaurant on the recommendation of a member of our party. When we entered, we offered to split up into two five-person units so that they would not have to go to the trouble of putting tables together, etc. They told us it 'wasn't a problem' and sat us all together anyways. We ordered, and the food was GREAT!!! I had a carnivore pizza and it was honestly the best meat pizza I've ever had. And it comes with this amazing pesto dressing which adds a delicious tang to the pizza and is incredibly addictive. All would have been well except that: a) they refused to split up our ticket when we were ready to leave, and b) the reason they kept us all together is that they add an 18% gratuity to parties of 6 or more....no problem indeed! The gratuity really wasn't that big of a deal, especially since we probably would have tipped more than that just because the food was so good. But it was the whole reason they refused to separate our checks! Even if they had split up the gratuity by person, we would have paid them the same amount and it would've saved us having to look through the menu for prices, calculate our own tax per person, and split up the gratuity accordingly...all done with the crayons and little paper placemats left on the table for our amusement. Disappointing end to a very good meal. (Also, the staff just sat and watched us try to figure it out....no offer to let us borrow a calculator or anything!)

Pros: Some of the best pizza I've ever eaten, original menu items

Cons: Service lacking

One of the best pizzas I have ever had. I would not wait on a regular basis as long as I had to wait for my pizza, but since I am only in Taos every 2 to 3 years it is worth the wait. The help is very friendly considering how busy they are.

Great gourmet-style pizza, salad with wonderful homemade dressing, beer/wine selection is tantalizing, and dessert menu is too tempting. Great local spot w/ a funky vibe. Prepare to be thoroughly satisfied.

Pros: Great gourmet pizza, funky atmosphere

Cons: a little hard to find, off the road behind some businesses, but the sign is right next to the road

They have really good pizza, with healthy and organic ingrediants. You can get just the best combinations of toppings, and the crust is really good, unless you dont like sesame seeds, but you can ask for pizza without it. It is a little pricy for just one slice, but it is a very big slice. The salad is great, they have really good pesto dressing.

Taos Pizza outback is my favorite pizza on this planet. Not only do they have wonderful pizza, they have the most kick-a$$ salad dressing, too-- just make sure you shake it before you pour. Every time I go to Taos, I HAVE to go to Pizza Outback. If I could, I would go there every night... but then, it wouldn't be quite as special.

The Taos Pizza Out Back is like a lot of places in Taos---a shade funky, a shade left of center and very memorable. The thick crust can stand up to a mountain of potent ingredients, as in the case of the Greek with its salty kalamata…
