I went in looking to buy new living room furniture and worked with someone I'd previously worked with and had a positive experience. It was June 26, 2009 when we signed the contract ,it was for the fourth of July special and I found a couch, chair and ottoman I wanted. I tried to finance but was told I needed a cosigner. I brought my husband back and we were purchasing under the understanding it was to be a joint purchase. We were told up front our bunk beds wouldn't be in for 3 weeks, not a problem. The bill comes in the mail and only my husbands name was on it. I immediately called GE and they told me that is the way Valley submitted it.
I called and spoke with Linda. I let her know we felt taken advantage of and we didn't want our furniture financed in one name only. It was to be a joint purchase and there were reasons. Linda refunded back the original amount and we went in on our time at our convienience to redo the purchase. The second purchase was done July 12. At that time Rick was in the store and said he thought one of the items was on order. We informed him it was ok we weren't going to pick up for a few more weeks. He said "Oh it will be in by then, if not I'll deliiver it for free". Still feeling a little decieved, but as Linda suggested the salesman may have made a mistake or just felt we wanted the furniture no matter what and so he did what he did.

On July 26 my husband went to pick up the furniture. In total we purchased a chair, ottoman, couch, and two sets of bunkbeds with trundles. On pick up day my husband was told the chair and ottoman were on back order and would be in in 3 weeks.

Pros: Sales people seem nice

Cons: No customer service, no integrity, will not own to mistakes

I bought a dinette set from these guys at a really good price (I will give them that much) back in Jan. 2009. It came with a dish set of our choice; I paid in full and was told that the dish set is on back order but should be in within a couple weeks. I had started calling 3 weeks after I had not heard back from them. They appoligized and told me to try back in a week. Another 2 weeks passed and they told me the same story and then added that they do not know when there shipments come from their vendors???? I asked if they could discount my purchase for the extended wait, but they said "The dishes were free" I was amazed to here that; afterall that is why I bought this set more for my buck! Well it is now 5 1/2 months later and they still don't have my order in!!! Rick the store manager is a
$&#*ing liar, who doesn't even return phone calls I have to follow up with them... I would not recomend them to anyone!!! I will take my bussiness where it is appreciated!

Pros: Great price

Cons: Customer service stinks

We bought our last living room set from these guys and they were great to deal with. Very friendly and helpful but also knew when to back off and give you a little bit to think about your decision. We ended up getting a couch, loveseat, recliner, area rug, end tables, coffee table, and lamps all for one great price. They also were able to deliver it within a timely manner and set it up. We did have a situation where we had a problem with our recliner and we took it to them and they fixed it right away. I would definately recommend them for their prices and customer service!

OK... the last review stated that earlier bad reviews were outdated. Here is a brand fresh review from someone who never entered Valley Furniture Warehouse before and now will never go there again.... I read the earlier +review and that review was a main reason I decided to risk it. I wish now I had not done so... my story may help keep someone from suffering my pain and humiliation.... I went to VFW to purchase a mirror which was supposed to be on sale over the Fourth of July weekend 2008. ... I just now saw a television commercial stating the mirror should be sold over the July 4 sales event for $26. Instead, I was asked to pay $49 for the same item by a salesman who was also supposed to contact me again about further information on another possible purchase. I have yet to receive the awaited phone call. Today, I called and asked for a manager to discuss both. My call was answered by a female who insisted on helping me herself. She would not even answer my question of the name of their manager. And she refused to place the manager on the line with me. She ended both of our calls by hanging up. Yes, I called back. And while we talked she kept interrupting me . I may report this incident elsewhere but I thought it would be best to let the public beware of this true and very recent story. So, my experience with Valley Furniture Warehouse so far is that I was forced to overpay on a sales item; I never was called back regarding a promise made by a sales person for further information on one of their products; I never was given the name of their manager to resolve with; I was interrupted repeatedly by a female rep who refused to allow me to speak with their manager; and I was hung up on. Not once but TWO TIMES today. So, I never was able to resolve this simple dilemna... WOW! Please save yourselves the trouble and do NOT shop at this place. And incidentally, the "sale" prices Valley promotes are not the best. I have seen much better sales elsewhere.

i looked on this site to find out if this company was as bad as i had heard. i went into the store the
first of march of 2008. they were having an anniversary sale and the prices were great. i was treated
just fine and everything i bought was in stock and they delivered it the next week. the only thing i find
bad is it was hard to get around in their store because of all the furniture stacked around. i went back
to the site and realized the only complaint was from 2001..don't you guys update...
