Trust me great food, locally owned. Asked a local where to go and was correctly pointed to this great New Mexican Cuisine restaurant.

I must admit this is my favorite place to eat !!! I love sitting out side on there patio. There service is great and the food is just as good. The atmosphere is awesome. I enjoy sitting outside while the traffic is passing and just hanging out in the nice warm sun, enjoying a good hardy meal.

I love this small restaurant, the staff are friendly and there is a small bar for a margarita, i have to say i enjoy each plate I have tasted, they also have outside seating. Try the tres leche cake.

This place serves the best authentic food in the valley. Their tortillas are homemade along with fresh salsa. The enchilada plates are of huge proportions and very tasty The prices are very reasonable.

The previous review says it pretty well. 4 years later and El Comedor is one of the top Mexican places in town. This is where I bring my parents when they come to town instead of La Posta. It has much better food and the outside seating is very nice. I liked the Chili con Carne. It is not as good as Nellie's but Nellies is only open for 4 hours a day, doesn't do dinner, and has lines to get in, as well as no outdoor seating. If you need ambiance for any reason El Comodor is the place that makes the fewest compromises.

Cons: small

What a charming little place! It's in a former residence, complete with lace curtains. The food is the best Mexican fare in town--much better than more famous places near the Old Mesilla plaza. Service can be spotty unless you get the "right" waiter--a young Hispanic fellow who brings more water, chips, and salsa without being asked, and who remembers regular customers' orders time after time.
