Target

We bought a PS3 from Target in November. We were sold and extended warranty "If we can't repair it, we'll replace it" at the time of purchase. Now it is May and the PS3 stopped working. I called Target and they said to bring it in and we'll replace it. I lugged it into the store and a different girl said "Oh, that was XXXXX. She's new and didn't know better. We can't replace it because you are outside 90 days". I showed them the extended warranty, the receipt, everything. "Sorry, you can call the warranty people." I did call the warranty people and they said "Sorry, you need to take it up with Sony." Seems that the warranty only applies AFTER the first year. They said review T & Cs. I did. No mention of anything like that. Plus, it was not sold that way. The value proposition was that we could take it to Target and save the hassle of dealing with Sony. Obviously, it was a lie to assist the sales person in winning a spiff or hitting his warranty quota. Target is refusing to budge, so we will be cancelling our Target account, my relatives will be cancelling theirs and my department at Hewlett Packard will stop buying there ($200k per year). They screwed the wrong guy this time. Take your business elsewhere.
