I'm in the military and I'm currently in Altus, OK. I have an iPhone 4s and I ordered a 5s online yesterday for pick up at the Apple retail store in Omaha, NE. My grandmother picked up the phone for me, and when doing so she explained to the associate that I was upgrading my current phone, and that I wasn't in town. He activated the 5s and deactivated my phone without telling her that he was turning off my service. Had he told her before doing so, I would have just picked up the phone when I got to town next week. As a military member this is a huge inconvenience, as the nearest AT&T store is an hour away and my only means of transportation being a cab, I now have no mode of mobile communication, and no way to reach my contacts while traveling. I called the Omaha store and spoke to Will who said he understood the situation and would have a manager call me back the following day as requested but the call never came. I called the store back and asked to speak to Will or a manager, but was forced to speak to Dan who advised that I get a SIM card from AT&T despite the 2 hour taxi commute that I informed him I would have to take. Before all I wanted was an apology on behalf of the store, but after 3 hours of dealing with reps at an 800 number that seemed to care less, no call back from the store manager, Dan's lack of understanding, and the original associate who failed to inform that my service would be turned off at the time of pick up, I'm kindly asking for some sort of gesture, gift card, or just something in lieu of all the inconveniences I'm incurring from a simple order. I've yet to have this issue resolved.

The "senior manager" Michael Hollman at this place is so rude it's amazing! I seriously question Apple's corporate culture if a guy like this is put in charge.

One of us happens to work at apple, but not @ the store. I found it easy to learn my iMovie stuff with the john who does all the quicktours on the apple website!
