I am (was now as soon as I can get away from this fiduciary disaster) a long term TD Ameritrade acct client and also a trader on Thinkorswim. Thre was a merger of the two companies and the confusion, the inability to get my money to trade and the lies told to me by reps and managers lead me to believe the company stands for poor management, lack of planning EXTREMELY poor customer service and ineptitude. The IT staff has yet to get my accounts back to where they were 2 days ago. To make matters worse , I woke up to find my entire cash in the IRA account ( several tens of thousands of dollars) was not there. I could not trade on this account this am. I was told they sent themoney to a money market of their choice and do not know when I will see it on my screen !! I have also been told that the 2 accounts had to other (hidden frm vew accounts) that I must fund seperately and the TDAmeritrade reps and managers assured me that my money would be in therequested accounts in minutes and it has been over 24 hrs and still no satifaction. There was an email sent if I did not want to transfer to TD Amertrade they will work with me on the alternatives - 3 reps that means go elsewhere one recomended e trade. DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE FOLKS UNTIL THEY SOLVE THEIR IT & CUSTOMER SERVICE PROBLEMS if at all. There was no one who would give me the phone # of the corporate office to even complain of their poor treatment . RATE this company elsethan zero. At any brokerage firm you hould have the right to have use of your own money and not be lied to or able to knowwhere your own money is located.

I've had my Roth here for 5 or 6 years (before they merged with TD Waterhouse)

They make it really easy to transfer funds in online- have great research and I like the way their site is set up.

I recommend them.

I've had my brokerage accounts with Ameritrade for several years now. I am very pleased with the service they provide, enabling me to trade and manage my accounts easily.
When I do have a problem or question, I actually don't mind calling their customer service line, because I know I'll get someone who is knowledgeable enough to figure out the problem and get it fixed -- a true rarity nowadays in call centers.
