Unethical, Overpriced, and RUDE!!! Neerings charged $600 to replace a $14 part that took them 30 minutes to install! My spouse did not know how outrageous this was and went ahead with the service because we had no hot water in the house and two little kids. When I returnd home from a stay in the hospital I called them to disucss and they would not even talk to me. The owner said, "we know what it costs to make a profit in this business..."

online, with their bbb seal, they seemed legitimate and nice on the phone. i was unable to be there, as i had to work, but my boyfriend was at my condo to meet them for an inspection of work to be done. they concluded a pipe needed to be replaced and a connector was needed to connect 2 pipes for my fridge. they said i had corrosion, a pin hole leak, and the gas control box was unusable on my water heater. they said it would be $1,206 to replace the gas control box and the fridge together, or $322 for just the fridge repairs. i thought it was really high. they said i should replace the entire water heater. for the fridge and water heater replacement it would be $2,138. i about died, but this is my first home and ive never bought a water heater before, i let them know that. i needed hot water asap, so i said go ahead, as long as you give me a detailed, easy to understand price breakdown. i said i wanted to know where every cent was going. they said they would and did the work. i gave them my credit card info on the phone after the work was done. i came home to find a hand written carbon copy receipt of 'replace water heater: $2,015, repair fridge: $168, total: $2,138'. i was upset and called them. i felt i was treated like a child or annoying customer on the phone and he said he didnt have the info in front of him and will call me the next day. i called HIM the next day and asked to be emailed the detailed breakdown i was promised. i had called a few other places in the mean time and they all quoted me about $1,000 less for the same work. i finally got the breakdown, just to be disappointed again. it was another hand written breakdown on a scanned piece of paper 'material: $479.85, labor: $699.26, operational overhead: $432.89, cost to do work: $1,612, profit: $403, selling price: $2,015'. he listed in detail what labor and operational overhead pays for. i wanted to know why i was charged so much, and it seems i made an unwanted donation to keep their company running. it was all very unprofessional. i let them know this and i said this still doesnt tell me what i needed to know. they never provided me with the information they promised. i dont know why they have a bbb seal on their website. i dont feel they are a company that deserves it. other customers will see it, trust them and be taken advantage of in the future.

They replaced (unnecessarily I found out later) the thermo couple on my furnace and charged $278 and then quoted me $2,605 to replace a 30-gal water heater. I called around a bit and found thermo couples are much cheaper to replace and also found someone to replace the water heater for $750. Not the friendliest people either. Their ""customer service"" people (chad) are slightly obnoxious and borderline rude. I wasn't impressed and won't be calling them again.

We contacted Neerings for a bid on repairing our A/C unit this summer. We also contacted various other companies and asked what their diagnostic fee would be to come out. We told each company where the unit was (on the roof) and very honestly gave them all the information requested. Each company gave us a price to come and check our unit, which we took into account. Neerings told us they would ""come out for free."" I don't remember the exact language used by the dispatcher, but either saying they would ""come out for free"" or otherwise, it implied to us that the diagnostic would be free. Based on what we were told on the phone, we chose the two diagnostics that were least expensive. We chose Neerings (free) and Action ($59). I had one day available to deal with this issue, I own a business and we travel quite a bit.

When the technician arrived, he looked in the closet, then told us he needed to go upstairs and it would cost us $142 to do that. We had our backs against a wall. We could not have someone else come out the same day, and we had only that day to deal with this issue in the 90-100 degree heat. We agreed to the fee reluctantly and paid the man cash with the intention of discussing this issue with Neerings afterwards.

I called Neerings after paying and explained my problem to the man on the phone. He told me that he would have someone from ""customer service"" give me a call in the next day or two. Nearly 2 weeks went by with no word from Neerings. Finally, I called them back again asking for ""customer service"" by name. I spoke with Chad, who listened to my story and argued with my points. In the end, he told me he would have to have the manager ""Mike"" call me back because he could do nothing about it. Mike called me back and left a voice mail to which I responded. Immediately upon speaking to Mike, he went on a tirade on the phone with me about his side of the story, this came right after he said hello and I told him my name, no other information was exchanged. During his speech which lasted approximately 3 minutes, I sat quietly and listened, despite his repeated calls for me to ""hear him out"" even though I said nothing.

After listening to Mike's long speech, I began telling my side of the story. Mike repeatedly interrupted me while I spoke and kept telling me I was wrong.

Let me be clear. I don't think Neerings did anything wrong that legally entitles me to damages or a refund; I explained that to both Chad and Mike. What I said to both of them is that they misled me about the price of their diagnostic and that if I knew their price, I would not have gone with them as there were many cheaper quotes. All I got in response to this was that the dispatchers on the phone don't know the prices and it is apparently the opinion of Mike and Chad at Neerings that the dispatchers shouldn't need to know these prices.

I called 5 or more A/C repair companies the same day I called Neerings. Without exception, all of them gave me a quote for what it would cost to ""come out"" to my condo and check my unit. Neerings told me that they would ""come out"" for free. Neerings opinion on the issue is that the onus is on the customer to understand that when they say a technician is going to ""come out"" for free, it doesn't mean the technician is going to actually do anything like a diagnostic for free.

I have given Neerings the opportunity to fix this issue and possibly avoid an issue like this in the future. What I have gotten from Neerings is their dismissal of my opinion and a very cavalier attitude from their supposed ""customer service."" For Neerings to treat a customer the way they've treated me is astounding.

The original service call occured on Aug. 29th, and it has taken this long (I am writing this on Sept. 14th) to have any kind of resolution on this issue. I have taken time out of my day repeatedly for Neerings to deal with this issue and they've been nothing but rude and flippant with me.

When my ac stopped working, I called Neerings because I recognized the name. When they came out to fix my ac, the tech said that my ac unit was leaking fluid, and because the unit is above the furnace, it would light on fire if they tried to fix it. So, they would have to replace the entire unit: $2,963 was my bid.

I called for a 2nd opinion from a different company. Turns out that all I needed was a new filter. The ""fluid"" was WATER condensation from the ac unit- it had frozen. There was also a small amount of mineral oil. But for that to light on fire, it would need a tremendous amount of heat, which is not even plausible (I called Neerings, told them what happened, and they agreed that this 'problem' is impossible). Neerings also failed to mention that my ac unit has a warranty on it until 2015!!!! Even if it was broken, I should have not paid anything except labor.

So for the cost of a new air filter & a $75 service charge from the new company, my ac is fixed. I'll take that fee over Neering's bid any day.

I wanted to take the time to let you know how wonderful my husband and I thought Matt and Todd were. We had a pipe break underneath our kitchen sink. After calling several after hours plumbing services we were relieved to hear that they were able to assist us almost immediately. Ironically, we were entertaining guests and were so grateful their staff was able to assist us in such a timely manner. Matt and Todd were friendly, professional, informative and very proficient at their trade. I believe calling a plumber is a daunting task for most of us due to the high costs generally associated with the trade. It certainly made our experience less troublesome having had such a pleasurable experience with their superb staff.

Recently Matt replaced our Water Heater, replaced some pipes and got everything to code for us. You can trust this man anywhere. He had a lot of work to do and it took awhile. Our only stress was worrying about him starving. I would've offered food, but I knew that he wouldn't stop to eat. He worked so hard and always kept a smile on his face. What a trooper! I've never appreciated Hot Water so much in my life!

The techs at Neerings are very smart at what they do. They anwsered all of my questions and are very friendly. My only thought is that they are WAY over priced!! Mr. Neerings is going to price himself out of buisness. In todays economy you cant be charging 400+ an hour for jobs. If he wants to stay in business which i hope he does(quilty of work is great) he needs to lower his prices!!!

We received a quote from Neerings. We were told our reverse osmosis unit was not made anymore and it could not be serviced. A replacement

and install was $1,328.00. To replace a saddle valve on a copper pipe was $212.00. To replace and install

our garbage disposal was $434.00 which was 50% off. A

competitor's quote was $469.00 to service the reverse osmosis, re

place and install the disposal and replace the saddle valve.

I would use your service again and highly recommedn it to any in need of the many services you provide. We have been extreamly well satisfied with the new system your group installed and the (seldom needed) follow-on service. Thanks to Gene and your orginization for great service.

Neerings plumbing is a complete rip off!!! Please tell all your friends and family to NEVER use them! They are over priced and unresaonable. Oh but they have nice service people - big whoop! They should be nice making $300 an hour!!! A small replacement part that took them 30 minutes to install on my water heater (that they sold me 5 year prior) cost me $600. I will never use this company again!

I was quoted $593.00 to replace my kitchen garage disposal that I provided and paid for. That is insane! Garbage disposals are easy to put in but I am very short on time and wanted to have the convenience of a professional installation. Don't get me wrong the service technician that came out to give me a bid was very friendly and professional but the price he quoted me out of his pricing book was just simply outrageous. After watching a tutorial on youtube I ended up putting in the disposal by myself in less than 30 minutes. Did I mention I have never put one in before and I'm female. Take my advice and save yourself some money and don't use this company. Recently I saw an ad for a competitor for a disposal install for 189.99 including the disposal. I paid $140 for just my disposal from homedeopt so that is a really great deal! This place is a joke.

I had a shower valve, pipe and faucet replaced. Neerings charged me $1800.00. Be careful if you use them. Their charges are about 5 times what other plumbers would bid. We were under time constraints and they really took advantage of us. They do not specify on the invoice what the itemized amount is- They do not want to give an explanation why their bid is so inflated. . I found out the materials for our project cost them about $340.00. The labor turned out to be $300.00/hr. I was so angry. They have not offered to work with me, even though the information that the service man, Cody, gave them was not accurate. I feel cheated. Do your homework. I would not use them ever again.

First of all, take a look at all of the positive reviews for Neerings carefully. Click on the name of the reviewer and look at their other reviews - it's quite obvious a service that gets paid to provide good reviews for businesses. Some of the reviewers appear to have purchased 5 or 6 cars in different states all in one month. In one case they made over a hundred reviews in one day from all over the country.\r
\r
Also note that none of the positive reviews have any kind of detail about the experience or work performed. It's very interesting.\r
\r
I was ripped off by Neerings on a simple plumbing job. I had them out to quote the replacement of a water heater, and figured while they were there I would have them re-route a 3 foot section of ABS drain pipe. It needed to be moved because of a cabinet remodel.\r
\r
They were already there and it was a simple job so I never even asked the price. I figured they would ding me for an hour of labor. Oh no, they price everything flat rate. The bill was $600 - for 30 minutes of work and about $2.00 worth of parts.\r
\r
Keep in mind they were there to provide a bid for another job - what a great impression to make!\r
\r
Then the best part came - the bid to replace the water heater. Keep in mind that the flue, water lines and gas line are already installed. They just needed to remove the old one and replace it with the new one. The quote was for $1,800! I was told it would take the better part of the morning to complete. When pressed for how long, the tech finally said it would be about 2 hours. \r
\r
I asked how they could charge $900/hr for labor when I was supplying all of the parts. He said they don't charge by the hour, just by the job. That way, there's no ""hidden charges"" later. Swell! \r
\r
I ended up having an independent plumber install it for $250.
