My first time there was a wonderful experience, don't get me wrong, but between then and now, I've noticed drastic differences when it came to their red wine reduction. At one point, it was reminiscent of mac and cheese sauce..only with a purple tint. I didn't understand why it tasted cheesy. Red wine reduction..cheesy? The apps were fine, although I don't care for the seared scallops that are sauced with again, red wine reduction. Does anyone else think that the reduction would overpower the delicate scallops? I guess the chef doesn't. Or lack there of as I've heard lately, the chef quit in early January, so who's running the kitchen? The entrees are okay, nothing to make you want to run home and tell your mom about. As far as the desserts go, I've noticed the chocolate cake has become incredibly dry, if it weren't for the ice cream, I would've sent it back, or atleast asked for a glass of milk! As for the rest of the selection, it's alright, again, nothing eventful. But I was happy to see the passionfruit cheesecake make it's return. It's about time they retired the pumpkin cheesecake. Except it's just a special for some strange reason. I'd like to see them put it back on the menu. Overall, my dining experiences there were decent, but if it keeps going downhill, they will definitely lose my patronage.

I absolutely love Pine! Everytime I am there I am given excellent service. This really means alot because I hate spending money and time somewhere where the food is good but the service is not. In this case not only is the food great but the service is too. I recommend this place to everyone I meet. i even talked one of my good friends into having a family party there. She couldn't stop talking about how wonderful everything turned out. The management must be doing a good job because I have noticed that everyone there is young but somehow they still have wonderful customer service skills. I think that other restaurant managers could learn alot from who ever is running Pine!!

So, my wife and I decided to try a new restaurant that was out of the downtown area of Salt Lake. We had both heard good things about Pine and decided this would be the night. Upon arrival I couldn't wait to order. The decor is very warm and the outdoor seating can't get much better. We started by ordering cocktails. I had the Mojito and my wife the Belini. Both drinks were below average in taste and quality. I would not recommend cocktails. Next we ordered the crab cakes as a starter. They were good, but there were cold spots in each one which made us wonder how much attention was given to cooking time. Both entree's were very good, but a little on the pricey side. I will give 5 stars for the service. Our waitress was very nice, attentive, and did take care of our table very well.

So, my wife and I decided to try a new restaurant that was out of the downtown area of Salt Lake. We had both heard good things about Pine and decided this would be the night. Upon arrival I couldn't wait to order. The decor is very warm and the outdoor seating can't get much better. We started by ordering cocktails. I had the Mojito and my wife the Belini. My wife and I tried Pine for the first time last week and were absolutely thrilled with the food and service we received. I had the coulotte steak and my wife had the pork chop, both were cooked to perfection and the cabernet reduction on each dish was simply divine. The following week we were raving to friends and family how fabulous Pine was and were excited to introduce the delicious food to those that have not yet discovered this restaurant. We took our family to dinner one week later and talked the majority of the table into trying the pork chop, which was our favorite from the previous meal. We had the mussels and spring rolls for appetizers, both of which were very good. When the pork chops arrived, we were extremely disappointed and a little embarrassed on the quality of food. The pork was very undercooked, the mashed potatoes tasted like glue, and there was a disgusting spicy chili oil drizzled on the side vegetables that seemed to permeate and overwhelm everything it touched. I was not aware that spicy chili oil and cabernet reduction were a good culinary combination, but maybe the chef at Pine has a different view. Because of this horrible and embarrassing experience, we will no longer promote and will not return to this restaurant.

We stopped in at about noon on Sunday had a better than average cinnamon roll, great Corned Beef Hash, exceptional Salmon Cake salad, lemonade and perfectly sized desert. It was a beautiful sunny day so we sat on the Patio. The music was pleaseant and not to loud. Pleasent servers and delightful presentation.

We had a company dinner party for Christmas, we were quoted one price then charged for many more, although resolved, they still wouldn't refund our tip which on the amount was well over $ 100.00 owed back to us.
The food was excellent, the service great, the customer communication poor at best. I called at least seven times and was jerked around each time. Lets just say, I feel better now venting and we won't be there again.

I took my husband to this gorgeous restaurant for his birthday and we absolutely enjoyed everything. Plus the fact that we were seated in front of a fireplace on a snowy, cold evening was perfect. Our appetizer was very fresh and spiced perfectly. The salad just melted in your mouth - I know weird huh!?!? The entrees were fabulous. I had the penne pasta, the flavor was very remarkable and the portion was very large that I also had it for lunch the following day. All the ingredients that were in the pasta were of wonderful quality. My husband had a steak, it was cooked to perfection. The steak was placed on a bed of flavorful, fluffy potatoes. Our waitress was wonderful!!!! We couldn't have had better service. She kept our wine glasses full of a wine that she recommended that we absolutely fell in love with. The restaurant was beautifully decorated. We're definitely going to be repeat customers.
