Having graduated from a different school but now working as a staff member at HMMS South, I hope to balance this review between biased and not. Looking at the school's curriculum, it is very comparable to other schools in the state, and with any school comparison, there are some courses taught at HMMS that are not offered at other schools and vice-versa.

The tuition is very reasonable for the amount of credit hours you receive, financial aid is available for those who qualify, and the total cost of the program is all-inclusive; meaning you don't have to pay separately for books, fees, materials, etc. and you get your own massage table as well.

The one thing I hear students complain about is that there is very little time to really absorb the information that is taught. However, this is the case with almost any massage program anywhere (most schools have either a 7- or a 10-month program), and again with most schools, all classes aside from Swedish and Deep Tissue are a very basic introductory so that you know what's out there and you can pick and choose what you want to specialise in after you graduate.

I can't say whether I would have had a better experience here as a student or not, but overall, all our students receive great reviews from their clients in clinic and most have gone on to have successful careers that they can take wherever they choose.

Pros: Student/instructor ratio, financial aid available, location

Cons: A lot of information in a short amount of time
