Con artists, scammers, liars, and crooks!

First of all, I've had a Whipple magnet on my fridge and have used them for years. I THOUGHT I liked these guys. I was once a monthly VIP member too. Until I found out they've been ripping me off and lying to me the whole time. Oh, and that magnet is good for $35 of service each time they come. That was only used once, when they first gave it to me, they didn't honor that any other time they visited.

I started understand their high-sale, you need this you need that lies after my AC went out recently. It had stopped blowing cold air. They came out and told me I need a whole new AC system in order to repair it. And while I'm doing that I should replace the furnace too for good compatibility. The quality options they gave me were $15-$16k. Feeling pressured to act now (because $4k savings they said) I wrote a check and they sent out their install guys that night. Thank God that the install guys thought it was too late in the evening to even start because it gave me the night to research average costs and call my dad to see what he thought. Come to find out, I'd been Whippled once again. My dad has his friend come out and all the guy did was pull the magnet covers I have over my main floor vents to show me my AC was just freezing up. It works fine now! So luckily I was able to cancel. But that's the reasons they send techs over same-day, no matter the time, to get you in service before you have a chance to research and change your mind.

To make matters worse, Whipple took home my overpriced (usually $20 but i paid over $200 and debatebly unneeded hard start kit for my AC they sold me the year prior. I had to have them come back and put it on again.

Oh, and the week before, I had Whipple to come out to swap out basic trim in my bathroom. The guy quoted me $225 to replace the cosmetic base ring at the base of the shower-head. I laughed, said no, and did it within 5 seconds after he left. He came some lie about how it'll scratch up the piping if I do that and he has to take that all out. Lies. He also didn't give me proper options for my garden tub trim but that's another story. $70 house call fee for nothing (and of course no $35 off for the magnet).

After venting my issues with them to others I have heard many other horror stories. I advise to stay FAR away from these guys. They are in the business of selling you things you don't need and making you think you do need them.

Don't you all find it interesting that these guys get a whole line of 5 star reviews that sound like the owner wrote, and every single other review is one star???
These guys are so dishonest and are out for one thing; To take your money! I can't believe that I considered working for them. I would not be able to live with myself if I did business the way Kent Whipple wanted me to. He sounds nice on his commercials but those ads do not reflect how he does business.

Almost every good review was written by an employee of Whipple. The way you will know this is how they are all right in a row and near the same dates. Believe me I worked for them.

Why does it cost the same as a new transmission to get a water heater? These guys are ripp offs! They told me $2499 for a new heater!!!!What??? I found a licensed plumber to do it for $900.00 good or bad it was a lot better than Whipple. The guy who installed it said he used to work there and they make the plumbers do that and he ripps off his plumbers too so he quit.

All of the overpriced, upsell talk is true!!!

I am a plumber looking for work and I actually went for a group interview for this company and walked out halfway through it, because they actually told us that thier motto is "replace it, don't fix it" I am an honest man trying to earn an honest living, and ripping people off (like they told us to) is not how i operate. PEROID. Trust me, don't use these guys!!!

Do not go near Kent Whipple, or his dishonest business.
He overcharges terribly, and lies about the company he runs
He gets on the radio, and sounds like he is full of kindness, concern, and "spirituality." He has even said all my customers are "children of God."

When his plumbers come to your house, they are clean cut and
don't swear. They just steal from you by charging monstrous fees. He charged me $1900 for a water heater that was worth less than 25 percent of the cost. His labor fees had to be about $800 per hour.

Call someone else. Whipple is a disgrace who sweet talks himself through his dishonesty.

Whipple has been great to work with! They came out when they said they would & we really liked that they didn't dance around on the pricing which made them seem more legitimate than some other companies. We also liked that they are an established company. It gives us peace of mind to know that if we call back in 5 years with a problem on our new equipment that they'll still be around to honor their warranties. Thanks Whipple!

My mother is in her 70's and called these guys to come out and fix a leaky faucet, which they did for $352.00. I thought that was pretty expensive, but then he said her pressure regulating valve was bad and charged her another $563 to replace that! I've never changed a faucet, but have changed a PRV, it took 30 minutes and cost $15 for parts. Needless to say I will NEVER recommend these guys for anything!!!!

I purchased a furnace and AC cooling coil from Whipple Plumbing and Heating for $6,600 this past March, 2009. A week later I heard an ad on the radio by Whipple offering a free air conditioner with the purchase of a furnace. When I called them they said that they could give me the compressor (I had already purchased and paid for the cooling coil) and only charge me $2,600 installation. That??s NOT a typo. They actually said that the installation fee for the (advertised) FREE compressor would be two thousand six hundred dollars.
RUN - DO NOT WALK - RUN AWAY FROM ANY OFFER MADE BY WHIPPLE.
