Ok, so Bill's isn't your 5 star hotel and casino, but it is so much fun. It's old style Vegas with a fabulous bar, affordable tables and lots of affordable slot machines.

There is a margarita bar where they sell 99 cent margaritas.

The overall atmosphere is just FUN.

It's not the Barbary Coast anymore, it's now called Bill's Gamblin' Hall and Saloon. Me and my husband stayed there not long ago and amidst great reviews, it was a complete disappointment. The room was big but it was dark and drab and the carpet felt stiff and dirty. The sink and tub were both dirty and stained. Bathroom counter space was small and did not have enough lighting. The bed sheets had holes in them. They did not even provide a nice bed comforter, instead they have a faux "bed runner" go across the foot of the bed, purely decorative and not meant to keep you warm. No refrigerator, no safe, no robes and no extra lock/deadbolt inside the room (it could've been just the room we stayed in). Housekeeping wasn't necessarily courteous (we would pass them on the hallway with no greetings whatsoever). On the bright side, it is right in the heart of the Strip. On the other three corners of the streets are Bellagio, Caesar's and Paris, Paris/Bally's. At best some of the rooms have a partial views of the Bellagio fountains. Parking is no problem, plenty of spaces and we saw the security make the rounds all the time.

Pros: Location

Cons: Everything except location

The hotel and casino is very small. The casino does not offer many comps. The casino also gets very crowded and the line for the night club goes down the middle of the casino.

Pros: Small casino easy to find your way around.

Cons: Gets too crowded. Alays busy.

Had to layover in Vegas for 5 hours so I walked down the Strip. Found Barbary Coast at 2a and decided to have the Prime Rib. It was only $5.99 so I thought it would be a decent portion. Wrong! (but in a good way). This piece of meat was HUGE! And it came with fries. I could barely finish it. I've never stayed at the hotel though. They also have a 24hr chinese restaurant on the same premises. But you gotta get the Prime Rib!

Pros: Huge Portions

I was a little hesitant to stay at the Barbary Coast because it's not one of the big new casinos. And while the casino part of the hotel was a little small and dingy, the rooms were better than those I've had at some of the large casinos. The room was large and clean, and I would recommend the Barbary Coast to anyone. I even got a "thank you" letter after my stay.

A great place to stay. Our room was under $40 per night! I've stayed at the big casinos/hotels and have payed over $100 per night and felt like I was staying at Motel 6. This room was large, comfortable, clean, and well maintained. The bed wasn't to firm or soft, just right. Bathroom was excellent. No outdated features anywhere. I won't be staying anywhere but at the Barbary Coast when I'm back in Las Vegas.
