Whenever we're looking at a new place to eat, like everyone we look at the sorroundings wait time price , etc, We found the Top of the World to be very nice inside, the view outside was spectacular, and the food however very pricey was excellent. The cuts of meat were perfect. And the seafood was out of the ocean that morning it seemed. We dont mind paying high prices for good food, and this was some of the best we'd ever had, and we've eaten at some very upscale resturants over the past 31 years together. Our meal at the Top of the World was an anniversary dinner, which we enjoyed the whole experience from beginning to end.

Sitting in the lounge was good with the service being what you'd expect. The view of course was great, however my wife found it difficult to find anything to eat and settled for a $12 bowl of soup with little chicken in it. I ordered a ribeye and was a little surprised for $48.00 that it came with nothing else. A potatoe cost an additional $12.00. The cut of meat was excellent and the first 2 bites were good. After that however the rest had very little flavor. I think the waiter figured out our check wasn't going to be that big so we really didn't see him until it was time to get the check and he never asked us about our meal. Also we had a reservation for 6:45 and they'll tell you it can run as much as 15 minutes late. We arrived at 6:15 and were told it would be atleast 7:15 before our table would be ready.

We made spur-of-the-moment lunch reservations last Saturday while in Vegas for the weekend, as we had heard that the view was great and the food was to die for. When we arrived, we were surprised to find a security checkpoint, but I guess you can't be too careful these days. We took a quick elevator ride to the restaurant, and were promptly seated. The view was just incredible--the rotating restaurant took a little bit of getting used to, and it took my date about 5 minutes to overcome her initial vertigo, but it was the highlight of our afternoon. Our waitress (Jeanne from Long Island) was very kind and personable, and when we couldn't decide between getting the Tower Salad or an appetizer, she helpfully recommended that we split a salad and get an appetizer as well. When the salad arrived on two smaller plates, we were amazed at the quantity of salad--there was plenty for both of us. The salad included Mixed greens with Anjou pears, apricots, candied walnuts and Balsamic vinaigrette. It was good, but nothing spectacular. This was followed by the Kobe Carpaccio (thin sliced beef served with Reggiano cheese and fresh greens). The Reggiano was to die for, but the beef lacked flavor and the fresh greens seemed superfluous. The entrees were good, not fantastic (but perhaps this was due to the fact that it was lunch, and many restaurants don't have their best staff on hand midday). The Prime Rib was served with Au Jus and creamy horseradish sauce, and was very flavorful and cooked just right. The potatoes were dry, and the vegetables flavorless. My date had the Filet Mignon, which was very tender and nicely flavored with the lemon butter caper sauce and two shrimp. It was served on a bed of greens, which seemed to be a strange choice. We enjoyed the Chocolate brownie trio, which was trio of white, milk and dark chocolate brownies on vanilla ice cream topped with chocolate and caramel sauces - the brownies were a little bit dry, but tasty. Give it a try, enjoy the view!!

Pros: Beautiful and unique view of Vegas, great service, nice setting

Cons: Decent food, just not spectacular. Could kick it up a notch.

My husband and I ate here 6 years ago and we absolutely loved it!! We are going to Vegas again in June and we are planning on eating here again. You get beautiful views of Vegas as the restaurant revolves around and the food is spectacular! It is pricey but you get what you pay for! They even have a photographer that will take your picture, for an extra cost of course, but it comes in a nice presentation with two pictures to choose! If you want great food, great views and great service, I recommend this restaurant!!

Excellent Service, good food, and the best views of Las Vegas is what you will get at this fine establishment over 100 stories above the Las Vegas Strip. The restaurant revolves as you dine. It is pricey but well worth it. Save room for dessert.

The view says it all! Very beautiful, especially at night. The resturaunt itself revolved which made it very enjoyable. Nice quiet atmosphere. Service was good. Some of the waiters are a little put out at times and seem irritated whe they don't "sell you the wine" The food is very good and well prepared. The servings are very generous but the pricing is extremely high. Not sure if it is due to the spectacular view but just a little too pricey. But having been there and experienced it, the view, in itself, made it worth it.

So here you are paying for the view which is excellent. You can't beat a better place to see the strip at night, unless you are taking a helicopter tour. The food was ok, not too memorable, but good. The service was good as well, but the best part and why I will go back there is for the strip view at night.

My boyfriend and I went to Las Vegas recently and he took me here. The place was great. We sat down by the window so we got to see all of Las Vegas all night, the food was great, the service was great and the portions are huge. I would highly reccomend this place but if you can split an entree.

Lunch at Top of the World with grandkids ages 17 and 12 was a sensation August 29. The kids loved it, the revolving view, the excellent food and service. Recommend for teens and pre-teens. They appreciate it.

The View is wonderful. The food was good not fantastic. You are paying for the view. Our salads were very tasty and our steak was good. The dessert Stratosphere is just average at best. Our waitress was very attentive and the food came quickly. I have seen the view and would recommend you go for the view at least once.

I would highly recommend you go there, grab a drink and maybe one appetizer and hang out. If you get a table and order the food you will be disappointed, unless you like food that tastes like microwave fare at 30-50 a plate, like waiting 30 mintues and service that takes 80 minutes at least.

This is the comments from the dinners in my party. The pork was worthless, the halibut was tasteless the rack of lamb was "whatever" and the prime rib is big and bland.

We ate here on March 30, 2006 before the Barry Manilow show, nice experience. Do not get the dinner for two, the wine pairings however were very enjoyable and worth the money. Great service, great view, bring your gambling money, we will be back.

My fiance proposed to me at the Top of the World... very romantic... beautiful views, excellent food, wine and service. We sat in one of the booths facing the windows, which I think would be the best spot.

I spent my anniversary at The Top of the World Restaurant, we had a lovely time. The service was great, our waiter, John (from New Jersey) was great. He helped made the evening enjoyable. We took pictures which turned out reallt great. The evening started a little slow because there was an emergency & we were seated a little late, however, the evening was still great! The food was well prepared and tasted very good, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone interested in a celebrating a very romantic evening - it'll be one you'll never forget. (Thanks John)

Pros: good parking, great service, awesome view

Cons: dresscode s/b enforce, limited selections, expensive

I was very impressed with the quality of the food and service.
Although Men should wear Jackets or button collor shirts and women should be nicely and properly dressed. My husband and I were very dissapointed when we saw a younger couple looking "very" under dressed and allowed in during August of 05.

I have been to this place several times with my family and friends (whenever they visit Las Vegas). Now that I have taken everyone there once, it is safe to say that I will *NOT* be returning. I took people there for the experience and the view, the food has always just been average, but the big turn-off was the service, which seems to be getting worse and worse. The last time I was there (with a reservation), my party and I still waited 40 minutes to be seated, and it took more than 90 minutes to get our food. We were very close to leaving the place. It does have a nice atmosphere and view, but sadly, the service is getting so bad that I have written a letter to them clearly stating that I will not return.

The view is breathtaking, but the food is mediocre. There are better restaurants in this price range. We ordered the dinner for two and the Chateubriand consisted of 4 slices of meat each, 2 carmelized onions, 3 baby potatoes and 2 asparagus spears. Unfortunately, the food was a bit cold. The dessert was very good.

Our server was understanding and pleasant when two members of our party were unexpectedly held up. We all began with a first course and a bottle of wine while to compensate. Near the end of the meal we witnessed the manager directing him to hurry us along. In my opinion, whenever a table is going to drop $700 on a meal they should be able to take as long as they want. Our server told us to nevermind that and take our time, but at that point we just wanted to wrap things up.

My boyfriend took me to the Top of the World for the first time. I loved it. I was in heaven with the breath takeing view. We got there when it was still light out but got to see the sun set and everything. The food is amazing, the best that I have ever had and worth every penny. The drinks were good to. Besides the view the thing I like the most about this restruant it that I did not feel rushed by the servers. They will not put in your order for your next course until you are done with the first one or until you ask them to. I love that!! That was a dinner that I will never forget and hope to go back to real soon.

I took a party of 14 to the Top of the World restaurant Thursday night. All things considered, the experience was magnificant. The view of the city can not be beat and more than makes up for the fact that there the food and value was just good, not great. Everyone in my party had an experience that will not be forgotten. Also, I highly recommend the lounge for drinks, our server recommended the drink Zygo to several in our party and the drink quickly became a group favorite.

We made reservations for 4 adults. I heard the service can be iffy, but I found it excellent. The Maitre 'd knew his wines and we pleasantly discussed the underrated German wines. I highly recommend Andrea M. as your server. She was friendly and professional. She checked on our table without it feeling rushed. The food was excellent! The escargot and the ostrich were excellent appetizers. The Duck was perfect, neither greasy or dried out. The Rack of Lamb and the Veal stuff with crab were outstanding. Although flavorful, the Lobster Ravioli was over cooked. All in all a positive experience. However, as most ratings state it is an expensive treat.

After your great meal and incredible view you must go to the observation deck and when you do go to this wonderful evening be sure to bring a good camerea. Not a cheap disposable that will not capture the view. Watching the rides from right below them and I mean right below is amazing. When you have dinner you dont have to go through the casino to get there, you have a seperate elevator which is very nice for tired Las Vegas feet!

I was not impressed at all with the food or the service. When all you get is a small piece of meat and nothing on the side... blah! And then to have to pay for a side dish that wasnt even worth half of its value. I just was not impressed with the food or the service. We were not treated very nice at all and we had to keep getting the waiters attention. I would go back and maybe have a drink but you can keep your 75.00 steak and lobster.. learn how to cook lobster before you charge that much for it!

My Husband and I got married in LV last summer, and made reservations at the "Top of the World" restaurant for our "wedding dinner". We were in heaven!!! The food was exquisite! I actually craved the Lobster Ravioli for quite some time after that night! The atmosphere is very romantic!! The views are nothing short of breathtaking! The employees treated you wonderfully! We also loved having a photographer take pictures and making a portfolio of our romantic evening!!! We are planning to return in another year or two, and I can already taste it!! The salads, breads, and cheesecake were all out of this world! The "Top of the World" is worth every penny!!

We had our wedding reception at Stratosphere Tower a year ago and received excellent service thus we decided to have our first anniversary there. Disappointedly, we were very dissatisfied with the very unpleasant reservation staff, the rude hostess, who did not wear her name tag so we couldn't report her to her manager. The hostess definitely needs some more training in greeting and treating returning customers with poise. Though the waiters were polite and the food was pretty good, which would taste even better if you sat down at the table feeling treated like a VIP.

Although the Top of the World Restaurant might be considered to be an over priced fine dining restaurant at first sight, after the culmination of your dinner and seeing all of Las Vegas without even turning your head, the overall dining experience is a memorable one. The food is exquisite, the service is impeccable and the atmosphere is heavenly which brings this Las Vegas restaurant straight to the top! Normally you'd have to pay $9 to just see the view but, if you have dining reservations, you get a free pass to the top. So, that's like taking $9 off the price of each dinner.

this is a great place for a date. very romantic. however, the elevator going up was very shakey, the restaurant also swayed because of the roller coasters above it. it's not very comforting when you're hundreds of feet above ground and the room is swaying [and i'm not talking about the revolving part.] our table was also too close to others. at one point the man next to us laughed along with our conversation. we had the portobello mushroom which is good, lobster soup: bland, $30 fish: tasteless. the waiter and staff are polite, though. really folks, this place is just for the view, ambiance, and service.

My wife and I went here on our honeymoon recently, and I have to say, make reservations . . . go, NOW.

We made reservations on our day of departure, and were more then pleased with the service, the food, the view, and the ambiance. My wife had the Chicken Alfredo, which had a very juicy and well cooked chicken breasts, and I had a Prime Rib that was cooked almost exactly to my liking, large portioned and well worth the 14.00 price. Furthermore, try the dinner rolls which is worth asking for seconds. The service was excellent as well.

But as advertised, the view is MORE then worth it. The Seating area rotates 360 in 1 hour, and provides sites that are unforgettable.

My husband and I spent our 8th wedding anniversary at the Top of the World Resturaunt. It was the most romantic dinner I have ever had. The atmosphere and view were just breathtaking. The service was impecable, (I don't think that I have ever been to a resturant that the waiter pulled my chair out for me). The food was a little pricey (we spent $190 for 2) but it was well presented, and melted in your mouth. A great place for dinner for two or a small group.

I've been to the "Top of the World" restaurant twice. Both times, I was simply in heaven (literally if you count the height of the restaurant!). I actually daydreamed about the Lobster Ravioli until I returned a second time. The ambience is very low key and romantic, soft jazz and lighting. The views are nothing short of breathtaking. The employees treated you as if you were their one purpose for working there. I'm returning in February for my honeymoon and once again, I'm dreaming of the Lobster Ravioli! Also, try the Stratosphere Chocolate Tower. Solid chocolate with a light chocolate mousse, drenched in vanilla sauce - out of this world! The "Top of the World" is worth the money to travel cross country ( I live on the east coast).

Pros: Excellent Service, Wonderful Food, Quiet and Romantic

Dining on top of the Statosphere tower is something extraordinary, food was very good and service was fine. The only problem is that quite a few people were wearing shorts and I think it wasn't appropriate for dinner at the restaurant that charges $200 for dinner for two. Management should come up with solution for it.

Dinner for 2 was over $200.00. It was very good. I am mildly experienced with fine eateries. The view was fantastic.

Have been to the Top of the World Restaurant, and really enjoyed the experience. We were a large party of 8 and all enjoyed it. The only drawback was "no smoking" in the restaurant & we smokers had no other choice but to travel up to the bar area whenever we wanted a cigarette.

Went to the Top of the World with parents, wife, and kid. Had to wait 1hr. 20minutes just to get the food to the table. What did you get for $200 - a small basket of bread, five plates of meat(no veggies), and coffee(soda for the kid). I've been to alot of 5 star eateries and this was definitely the worst. Complained after about service and they gave us our coffee for free - like I don't know what the coffee costs them.

I've dined here the last two trips to Las Vegas. I was so impressed within the first 10 minutes of the first visit that I had to come back with others. I brought my Fiance the first night and it was perfect.
The service was quite unusual - it was great! I watched a fork hit the floor and there was a new fresh fork on the table without that person even knowing what he'd done.
The food was great. I recommend the Lobster Bisque, as well as any meats here.
Caution, it is easy to get carried away here and end up with a pretty costly bill.
Be sure and finish the dinner off with a stroll around the top of the Stratosphere tower. Enjoy!

My husband took me here for our anniversary dinner onNew Year's Eve and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect way to celebrate!!! Every thing was excellent from the service to the food to the view. We had filet mignon and it was the best steak I have ever had-you could practicaly cut it with a fork! This is an expensive restaurant but not overpriced. I feel we really got our money's worth from our 4 course price fixe dinner for $75 per person. Be sure you go at night to get the best view!

Pros: romatic/quiet, quality chefs

Cons: expensive/with reason

The view was great and rotating floor allows 360 view of Las Vegas. However, service was ok, food was ordinary, neighborhood was disgusting, distant from the heart of the strip, resort was horrible, too many elevators/detours to the restaurant - not too romatic.

This is a good place to dine if your not concerned about the view and more about the view. Much better places to eat in town.

This place is amazing and so is the view! My husband and I went for my 25th anniversary, and it was one of the most memorable dinners we have ever had. The view from The Top of the World is absolutely awesome. As you rotate around the city you see the beautiful lights, the helicopters and planes, and the city below. The food is pricey, but for a special occassion, it is more than worth it! Just be sure to order the shrimp scampi...

My boyfriend, who is a NV resident, brought me (I'm from MN) to the Top of the World restaurant for my birthday. I was most impressed by the view AND the food! Extremely delicious!! Definitely a GREAT place for a romantic dinner for two! Prices were a bit high but I thought it was well worth it!!

Although I have no problem spending around $200 for a nice dinner with a nice woman. Top of the world is a little too pricey for what you get, and the food can be better. Try VooDoo lounge/restaurant on the 55th floor of Rio. Better food, and just as good a view.
Also... Alize, at the Palms (across the street), excellent French cuisine and view... and you'll pay for it.

Location Location Location!
The Top of the World Restaurant virtually has No competition as The Best Restaurant in Las Vegas. How can you compete by dining 1,149' above Las Vegas Blvd. and see the breath-taking view of Las Vegas and beyond. The food is heavenly prepared to perfection and the service is impecably royal. The prices are as high as the restaurant but, you get every penny's worth. This could quite simply be a memorably romantic dinner of a lifetime.

Loved the sultry, dark interior and the ever-changing view. The food was delicious, the service very good. It was my 1st wedding anniversary and it set the tone for the next ones - every year we looked for a sky-high revolving restaurant in a new city to celebrate in. This was the 2nd best - #1 was in Honolulu. But the Stratosphere was fun, the people were nice and the atmosphere was romantic. Gotta go!

This place is amazing!!!!
Great view, great drinks, great food, great service. And did I mention GREAT FOOD???
Tip 1: Make reservations just before sunset. The lights and view and sunset are great!
Tip 2: The drinks are stiff! The restaurant revolves so you really have to pay attention to where you are sitting if you leave for a smoke or restroom.
Tip 3: Save room for thier dessert-a tower of chocolate!!!
Tip 4: go for the show downstairs before dinner. A little hokey but a lot of laughs and very cheap! I found a coupon and it was only $4.00 pp.
Tip 5: Ladies, becareful setting your purse on the floor. The floor moves...

I have been to Vegas twice, Both times I've been to the Stratosphere resturant. It's a lovely dining experience set atop of the city of Vegas! Great food, nice bar too. But nothing tops the beautiful view! The only thing I didn't like, is there's no smoking in the resturant. But you can go up the stairs to the bar & puff away. The view is amazing, you can see mts. in Colorado. At night the lights of the Srtip steal the show. Great place for engagements.
