We've used Ambush Pest Control now for almost a year. The quality of their service has grown progressively worse over time and we were finally forced to stop service with them.

The biggest problem is that they don't actually kill the bugs or control any pests. Maybe they should just change their name to simply "Ambush." We've guessed that in order to save money, they use weak chemicals - because we see the guy spray. Maybe he's using water. Who knows? I do know that I always have had to call them to come back out and re-spray (that is, when they've actually returned my call).

When you are paying $25 a month for pest control service, the last thing you want to see are half a dozen live insects every night - or worse, scorpions on the wall when you have a toddler. And then when you leave a message with their guy and don't hear back from him on a consistent basis, it's time to switch services.

And we do not live in a heavily infested area. I've spoken with several of our neighbors and they told me that they've never seen a live bug in their place (probably because they don't use Ambush). Over the course of this summer, I've mentioned seeing live insects several times to Ambush Pest Control. But they always have tons of excuses for their weak chemicals and for the poor job they do: "It's the foundation, it takes a while for the bugs to die, it's the humidity we've been having lately, etc." I don't want excuses. I want effective service.

Aside from having to constantly have them come back out and re-spray, the thing that finally had me cancel their service is their rudeness. The old guy (who was extremely polite) quit, so they started sending us a new guy a few months ago. I recently asked him if he could come by later in the day (not eight in the morning). Instead of saying, "Sure, no problem - let me check with my boss and get back to you" He tells me how he couldn't do that because it would be too inconvenient for him. So I call and talk to the manager who tells me that this is the only guy in our area and she can't help me. Nice, huh? If you're paying someone to come to your house and perform a service, wouldn't it be reasonable to expect them to try to work with your schedule?

But the bottom line is, even if they weren't rude, they are ineffectual. My biggest regret is that I didn't cancel service with them sooner.

In my opinion, beware that Ambush Pest Control is a totally unprofessional company to deal with. Without going into detail, other than to say, their serviceman sprayed my rental property once at move-in, and then the day after when ants appeared the company refused to come re-spray at no charge to remedy the situation. The manager and owner of Ambush Pest Control exhibited a high degree of un-professionalism in handling my request for a re-spray and their staff is rude and curt. When I tried to explain to the owner of the company how the manager of her establishment had been so disrespectful, she then told me that I had said things that I most definitely hadn??t. She tried to make me believe I had been rude to her employee first, which was completely untrue. When it was all said and done, the owner refused to issue me an apology for the way the manager and she had treated me. I will NEVER do business with Ambush Pest Control. Both the manager and owner of the company were unreasonably rude and disrespectful to me, a potential client. I would highly advise using a different company at any cost.
