4 Stars: Luxor Hotel & Casino is very nice (by Deb P.)

My husband and I have stayed at the Luxor many times and always felt it was a good experience. Good staff and plenty of amenities - a little off the beaten track but we like it.

1 Stars: Luxor Hotel & Casino is definetely not a place to go have a good time (by pamela m.)

my friends and i stayed there about 3 months ago, we were all excited about going to a nice and big hotel, since we were all girls and picked a nice hotel to have fun and feel good, but nothing of this happened. We were so disappointed when we got there, first thing the clerk had a horrible attitude i don't know if she was racist or what the hell was her problem, second thing we had reserved this room like 1 month in advanced and when we checked in, surprise!!they didn't have the kind of room we made a reservation for, they ended up giving us the shittiest room ever seen in my life, and so far from the main entrance, i swear you would not feel like going anywhere just to think all you have to walk to get to the exit..then we wanted a smoke and surprise again, that grumpy and ugly lady gave us a non-smoking room, everything was terrible that weekend that we were expecting to be so nice and exciting... don't recommend this hotel if you are planing to go with friends and have fun .....

5 Stars: Awesome Sight! (by Michael T.)

If you have never seen the inside of a pyramid, I suggest you at least check out once in your lifetime. The inside is absolutely gorgeous and they have a lot of things to do inside (besides gamble).

1 Stars: Shop at the Tropicana Hotel for Egyptian merchandise (by TrulyBlessed1)

The Luxor closed all of the wonderful stores that offered authentic Egyptian trinkets and papyrus paper. The hotel looks "retro" now with all Egyptian things being replaced by racy photos of women, timeshare vultures, a pearl in the shell store, a young trendy women?s clothes store, and a food court that has only a few vendors. If you want authentic Egyptian merchandise, go to the Tropicana Hotel?s shopping kiosks. There are two stands with lots of things to look at. What is the Luxor good for?the ?Body? and ?Titanic? exhibits. Want Krispy Kreme?s? That place is gone too. This hotel was revamped AGAIN to bring in the twenty-something crowd, hopefully, they have a lot of money to spend! Stick to the Venetian or Caesar?s Palace for true luxury as the Luxor will disappoint. If you have kids, find another venue unless you plan on hiding their eyes on the way to the Titanic and Body exhibits.

4 Stars: Check out the Cat House! (by woken)

Our last visit was in Jan 09. My wife and I go to Las Vegas at least once a year. We usually stay at the Luxor for overall value. The Casino is layed out nicely, with plenty of action, what ever kind you are looking for. We ate dinner at The Cat House our first night there. It was very enjoyable and delicious. The rest of the meals were at the buffet and at the coffe shop. My wife was gambling quite a bit and was winning so our meals and last night was comped. I was gambling also but not winning, so I stoped..I like the location of this property. Mandalay Bay is next door which we like also, and Excalibur. If you are interested in the action around Ceasars then Luxor is a bit of a trip. I would recomend a property in the middle of the strip then. MGM Grand, New York New York, Tropican, and Monte Carlo are all very easy to walk to. We are already planning our next trip thanks to the comp we recieved for 2 night stay.

5 Stars: Luxor (by Venus B.)

Well my daughter was so excited when we went to the Luxor to go the the gift shop where they sell all the egyptian hotel items. They had a 50% sale on some of the vases and we got one for my daughter. This hotel is very kid friendly with the movie theater inside. The swimming pool is so inviting. I recommend staying here.

1 Stars: Pricey disappointment awaits at the Luxor (by Joe G.)

From afar, the Luxor is one of the most recognizable Vegas landmarks.

Unfortunately, from within one of the pyramid rooms, one would have a rough time finding anything that would distinguish it from a mid-range motel (not hotel) room - except that slanted window.

We decided to stay somewhere that would be memorable to a child, in the hopes that it would actually remain memorable. Unfortunately, the cost for that was a room that was substantially more expensive than what I would have considered similar quality elsewhere in Vegas.

The Luxor was undoubtedly nice at one time, but it feels very much like a has-been that is in need of a new image and a severe remodel. We were in a room on the first few floors of the pyramid, which was not too terrible. Despite other comments, the noise from the casino floor wasn't really noticeable. The view of the atrium is great, though from our room, we had to go down an elevator and then sneak onto an inclinator to get any worthwhile view.

However, from the Luxor, everything's a major walk. This is no fun with kids. Luxor shares a little elevated transit tram system that will get you up to Excalibur, where you can walk to NYNY and then MGM Grand, where you can then get to the Las Vegas Monorail. There's a trick or two in doing that without walking all through the Grand. Unfortunately, the LV Monorail is a miserable experience in itself, because at most stops, you are forced to walk a long way (often through large shopping areas, or around parking areas, and always through the casino floor) to get from the street to the Monorail. The end result is that you're almost always tired by the time you've beaten your way from your Luxor room to your destination, and it can take up to an hour to get there. And there's still the trip back.

Overall, Luxor was a disappointment.

4 Stars: Fun Place (by Nicole C.)

This is a really fun hotel to stay at, it has nice rooms and good service. The hotel can get pretty noisy but what hotels in Las Vegas aren't? It is located at the end of the strip closest to the Las Vegas airport. If you are planning on walking everywhere it is a pretty far walk to the hotels towards the other end of the strip, it is more convenient to stay at a hotel in the middle like the Monte Carlo. For the price of this hotel you can't go wrong, you can get it for about $70 a night and that is great for Las Vegas!

5 Stars: It is a PYRAMID (by feyfey v.)

There is a beacon that shines straight up from the top of the pyramid that is the main building. You can see it from about 50 miles away and I was never so glad as to see it one night when I was driving back from Los Angles to Vegas. The pyramid disappears into the night. The rooms are sloped. If you are tall it will be hard to look out the window. Except for the few whirlpool rooms, pyramid rooms only have showers, you have to go to one of the out buildings to get a tub. The inclinators are fun, elevators at the corners. It can be a long walk to them. Lots of tourist things to do. Too bad they took out the Nile River boat ride. Recently opened a trendy night club to try and appeal to younger folks. The only cheesy thing is the advertising that now covers the facade. Very tacky.

4 Stars: Mix of comfort and value (by Squid42)

We've stayed at the Luxor about 15 times over the last eight years.

The Bad: The base rooms in the Pyramid section are rather noisy (all the noise from the attraction level filters up the pyramid). The cocktail waitresses on the casino level could use some lessons on being polite (example: being refused a drink while watching my wife play slots - she said I also had to be playing to get a drink...very presumptuous on her part as I has already lost $200). The Luxor Steakhouse has very poor service ? we will not be going back there after getting such poor service. Reserved rooms are not always what you requested ? a couple visits our rooms were not what we reserved, but in Luxor?s defense they swapped us over to the correct room the next day. In some respect it seems like the staff at the Luxor has become somewhat jaded over the years as I have noticed a decline in hospitality and service (and not just at the Luxor I will add).

The Good: The Tower section, although away from all the action has very nice rooms. If you want to get some sleep without having a lot of external noise the Tower section is the best area. Most if not all the rooms by now have been remodeled, the beds are more comfortable, and the decor is better than before. Over the last year several new places to eat have been added (the casino has shrunk a bit because of this). The casino is good, but not the best (the two adjoining hotels Mandalay Bay and Excalibur seem to be a bit better). The price at the Luxor is very reasonable. The attraction level has some really nice things to do if you get bored or as time fillers. Most of the desk employees are friendly and try to accommodate - sometimes asking for a manager may be your best bet if you have a problem. The Luxor buffet is pretty good and reasonably priced (Mandalay and Bellagio are better though). The shows have been pretty good (Blue Man Group, and Chris Angel). Ease of access to Mandalay Bay and Excalibur.

1 Stars: Worse Valet Experience (by AndyJT)

Please, please, please be careful when leaving your vehicle with Luxor Valet. I dropped my vehicle off with the Valet guy. He asked me if I'm going to be out quick and if I want him to park my vehicle nearby. I said yes, thinking what a great idea and that was very nice of him. When I got my vehicle back a half hour later, there was a lot of damage to the passenger side quarter panel. I ask the Valet guy what happen to my car and he said he doesn't know but he will have the security guard do a report and they would be able to figure out what happen with video cameras. The security guard took some pictures of the car and had me fill out a report. He said that they would have to investigate this claim and pull all the videos. He then gave me a phone number to call their Risk Management 36 hours later. Now come to the good part, when I talk to Risk Management adjuster from Luxor, she asks me to go and get an estimate and fax it to her. After looking at the estimate which cost $1900, she told me that she has denied the claim saying that my car was park in an open area and both Valet people denied any accident when they drove the car. I ask her do you think those valet guys would tell you that they got in an accident. She didn't reply. I then ask her what about cameras; she said there no camera where my car was park. I also ask her what about the procedure that Valet personnel need to mark down if the car is damage when customer drops off their car. She said that would be a place that they would miss. I then I ask her if she has look at the pictures and see how big the damage was? How could they have missed that type of damage? She would not reply. I ask if I could speak to someone higher than her since we are getting nowhere. She said she is the supervisor in charge and her decision is final. This is the worse Valet experience I ever had. Luxor has shady workers with bad customer service. Avoid them at all cost.

1 Stars: Don't stay here (by Coly75)

Five of us went to Vegas for a friend's bday. From day 1 things went wrong- they didn't have our rooms ready (eventhough it was past check in time) and then they sent us to smoking rooms, the front desk staff was beyond rude and never apologized or even acknowedged their screw up, they lost our luggage when our room was finally ready, the food was barely ok, and the wait staff at the bars were extremely slow. Spend a few extra dollars and stay some place where you aren't treated like trash from the moment you walk in the door. We had a blast when we weren't at our hotel...and so we spent our money elsewhere. And from the looks of others staying we weren't alone.

This final story says it all--When we checked out we saw a bride trying to talk to the front desk about how they also screwed up her room and had treated her wedding guests poorly....she was on the verge of tears.

DON'T STAY THERE!

3 Stars: Still gorgeous outside, at least until MGM Grand changes that too (by bizarro7)

We have stayed at the Luxor once a year nearly since it opened, and it has fallen far from the glorious adult theme park resort hotel that Veldon Simpson first designed. Especially since the MGM Grand corporation has bought the property, they've been systematically ripping out most of the Egyptian-themed decor. The carpets and mattresses in the pyramid have needed replacing for years, and yet the corporation is too busy putting in new ultrabars and restaurants masquerading as whorehouses, instead. Everything seems to be desperately tailored to try and attract the young male demographic, but it's all turning into a giant generic Vegas barn. Thank heavens for the attentive Casino Slot Hosts, who are virtually the only thing left worth coming back for.

4 Stars: Unique hotel (by Judy B.)

The Luxor is a pyramid-shaped hotel at the end of the Strip which is closest to the Las Vegas airport. It's a beautiful and unique hotel, although it would have been more convenient to have stayed at one of the hotels in the middle of the strip. The service was good and the room was nice, there were all the usual amenities you would expect. The interesting thing about the Luxor is that it has the world's largest atrium, 30 stories high. Because of the Luxor's pyramid shape, they have "inclinators" (instead of the usual elevator) that travel sideways on an angle to take guests to their rooms, a unique ride. Even if you don't stay here, make sure to visit.

5 Stars: Modern, sleek and friendly: Best Hotel on Strip! (by themeems)

I booked a room at the Luxor this weekend after reading the mostly positive reviews here, and am very happy I did. Most of the hotels on the strip are overrun with children and babies and extremely overwhelming, not the Luxor. It's sleek, relaxing, modern, and the Egyptian theme is not as overwhelming as you might think.

Overall, very pleased!!

5 Stars: Comfortable and Fun Experience!!! (by glamorous510)

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Luxor on our very first trip to Vegas together in 2006. I had heard mixed experiences about the hotel/casino so I decided to try it out for myself. The hotel/casino is amazing! We didn't have to wait long to check in and we were early!!! We were offered to be upgraded to a tower room which showed great customer service. We spent a total of three nights here and WE LOVED IT!!! The food was great, the pool was awesome. We were not too thrilled about Club RA, but we did get in for free. Other than that everything else was more than great! I would definitely return back here the next time we are in Vegas and I have recommended to all my friends and family! Staying at the Luxor was a great experience!!!!!

5 Stars: My favorite hotel in Vegas (by rg1972)

I've stayed many hotels in Vegas, places like Mandalay Bay, Monte Carlo, Excalibur, Orleans, Hard Rock, MGM and Rio, but the Luxor is by far my favorite. I really don't why, I guess many would think its kind of corny decor and over done, but I like the feel of it. Love the casino and they way it's set up and this place has some great places to eat. Luxor steak house was incredible, They have a deli, a pizza place, Fusia (asian) and in between Mandalay Bay and Luxor is the best burger joint in Vegas called the Burger bar. The Spa suite is the way to go, your in the pyramid, with an awsome view in a nice big spa tub with some wine and your woman...doesn't get any better than that.

2 Stars: Save your money for the Venetian (by 007lasvegas)

We had specified a non smoking room and were placed in the west tower (dump) in a smoking room that smelled so bad and had peeling wallpaper and burned my eyes from the smokers who were there before me. We waited in line for everything. The food sucked and the service sucked. Next time we will be staying at the Venetian, Mandallay Bay, Bellagio or in a better place. If you like a dumpy old smokey hotel with bad service than the Luxor is for you.

4 Stars: How can you not love a stay in a pyramid? (by sione)

I must admit... I just love the whole Egyptian theme to this hotel and I have always loved the design of everything here. This is one of my favorite places to stay, not because it is the nicest on the Strip, but because it is really nice and still a moderately priced stay. The rooms are probably about middle-of-the-road and are comfortable and worth it. The staff isn't really overly friendly or rude either. I do love the buffet here, especially for breakfast.

3 Stars: Not What it Once Was (by radsxw1)

We have stayed at the Luxor twice. We were first here two years ago and the Luxor was a great place to stay. The first time we stayed in a tower room. That room was clean and modern-very nice. However, the second time we stayed here the room was in the original part of the hotel, the Pyramid. This room was in need of some serious updating. The age of this hotel was evident in all of its decor. The pool was the most modern amenity. The novelty of the whole pyramid thing was neat. Hotel staff was not especially friendly and helpful. One great thing was the entertainment in the Nefertti Lounge. At the time we were there David " The Sax Man" Brown was playing there. This two man group was something special and we enjoyed their music tremendously. It appears since the MGM group bought the Luxor that the changes made have caused prices to increase and service to go downhill.

3 Stars: Very Cool (by ambrosgela)

My stays at the Luxor have been wonderful! As with any Vegas Strip hotel, you can pretty much expect all the grandiose visuals and lavishness, but the Luxor also has the Nefretiti Lounge that is a more relaxed atmosphere with some great music. The casino is on par with the rest. The interior is what makes a Luxor stay a must.

3 Stars: average at best (by muranodiva)

So the outside is really neat and inside the casino and lobby area is a novelty if you're never seen it. Otherwise it is pretty much just like any other average place out there to stay. It is getting to be one of the older joints out there and I guess they are doing some renovations. So if you get a free room outta them, take otherwise, stop, look, listen, and rubberneck - then leave.

3 Stars: Yeah...no. (by ez_bree_z)

Overall average. I was here at the beginning of October for a bachelor party. The rooms were in need of some serious updating. The age of this hotel is evident in all of its decor. The pool was the most modern amenity. The novelty of the whole pyramid thing was neat and yeah, those elevators are zany. It was nice to catch the neighboring hotels through the tunnel, though. Ate at the buffet one day and it was massive but nothing special. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The in-house nightclub, RA, was ?under renovations?. Funny but the website mentioned nothing about being closed. That?s the frustrating thing about business who can?t update the most dynamic information source available, the World Wide Web! At the time I wrote this review, the website still says nothing about being under renovations or closed. Maybe it?s no longer being renovated. Who knows? We weren?t expecting much from RA since it?s old news but we were hoping to possibly get VIP or ?no line? and party in our own hotel to stay close to our rooms. I tried to talk to the manager about it but it took me getting irate to have him supposedly make some calls that never panned out. There are plenty of novelties in Vegas and this is one you can enjoy without staying here. The view from the plane during the landing is enough.

4 Stars: Great Gambling (by gordsam)

We love to gamble and eat here however the rooms leave something to be desired. In most hotels, the elevator is close to the gaming floor but not here. You must walk by the meeting rooms to arrive. Also the rooms are on the small level, I think the pyramid design has something to do with it.

5 Stars: Your First Time In Vegas (by afrokitty)

If you travel into Las Vegas at night, the beacon of light from the top of the pyramid lets you know that you have arrived! It practically guides you into the city The Luxor resembles the most lavish idea of a house; a house of black diamonds, topped off with a chimney of white diamonds. The slopes of the pyramid allows for an unique experience riding the elevators on a thirty-nine degree angle, to an ancient pyramid in Egypt.
This is the best first place to stay if you want an experience within an experience.

4 Stars: Nice quiet hotel on the south strip (by snidvongs)

My friend got a suite on his birthday for a small group party. The room was nice and HUGH! It's located on the very top of the Pyramid. The glass window was angled and tint, so we could hardly see the view when it got dark and since that it's located on the south trip, we could only see not-so-attractive hotels below and desert far ahead. It's a very quiet hotel. The hotel is so hugh that it's very far to walk everywhere; to parking lot, to the pool.

This isn't a 5-star experience, but it's pretty good for the price. The rooms are a little shabby and are definitely in need of better lighting. However, there are reasonably priced food options in the food court, even late; a nice pool/jacuzzi area with plenty of lounge chairs and towels; and, a convenient tram to Excalibur and Mandalay. If you're looking for a basic launching pad to experience and enjoy Vegas, the Luxor fits the bill.

5 Stars: The best place to stay (by jodaroni)

This is the second year in a row that myself and friends have stayed in the Luxor Pyramid room, and if we hadn't liked it the first time, we wouldn't have come back to stay there again! Last year from the moment we checked in there was an odd smell in our room, so we called the front desk, and they offered to change our room right away, no attitudes or questions about it. This year we had a wonderful room, and we received a mini fridge free of charge for our entire stay. If you're looking for a good place to eat, a nice casual place is La Salsa, delicious mexican food, and excellent margaritas. For a more sophisticated place, try Fusia located on the walkway to Mandalay Bay, it is absolutely delicious, probably the best meal I had in Vegas, we ate there 2 times in 1 week. Our waiter was Jimmy, he was fantastic, highly recommended. The pool area is clean, and the staff are friendly. The only suggestion is perhaps having an adults only pool (there are 4 pools) since myself and friends didn't appreciate getting splashed by children running around. The only downside was that we had prepared to go to RA Nightclub on our last night in Vegas, only to learn that it was closed for renovations, but there was no sign on the door of the club, we had to go to the front desk to ask about that. Also, the Pyramid cafe was closed on our last night as well, for renovations, but there was alternative restaurants listed that were open, which was alright. All in all, I would recommend Luxor in a heartbeat.

2 Stars: Luxor Was Dissapointing (by smurfieb)

We stayed 3 nights in Aug 2006, we were continuously bothered by marketers in the lobby who wanted us to look at Condos to get a discounted show ticket. The Pyramid cafe was closed for a re-model and the only place to get Breakfast was not that great. The West Tower rooms have no coffee pots at all, or view, they want everyone to go down to Starbucks or McDonald;s at the rise of dawn. Not even a place to get ice in the hall.. The pool closes at 8pm, I thought this was Las vegas.....They should offer more being at the other end of the strip. And most all of the casinos had no waitresses serving drinks unless you were a high roller.

5 Stars: Best In Vegas (by toyon204)

Stayed with frineds at the Luxor for the third straight year. Have stayed at four other hotels and visited every hotel on the strip...Luxor is the best by far. Affordable, yet luxorious and plenty of fun to go around. Definitely catered towards a younger crowd, but the older crowd that stays there is just as cool and unpretentious. I highly recommend for the 18-35 year old crowd, and even more for the college and post-college crowd. Great rooms, friendly service, fun dealers (thank you sandy and freddy from the blackjack tables), and even the security guards were nice when responding to noise complaint against us. It is located on one end of the strip, but its end is also the best end. Apart from the sirens of TI show, no real reason to ever go further than Bellagio, Mirage, or Paris. Will go back for many more years.

The rooms in the Luxor pyramid are pretty nice. And I would imagine that every room has a great view. The casino always seemed half empty all the time.

The only negative; make sure you don't get stuck in one of the rooms behind the night club. If you do, you get to hear a nice loud thumping bass all night long.

5 Stars: Home away from Home (by zurich)

In all I've stayed at 8 different hotels in Vegas. Every hotel I've stayed at has had nice clean rooms, good food and it's own special amenities, but somehow I was always drawn back to the Luxor. Having stayed there over 15 times, I realized that I've never had a bad experience there. The difference is the people. They have the absolute best slot club staff in Vegas, that will do everything possible to make a slot player feel at home. Infact, I've been impressed with everyone of the hotel's staff that I have delt with on every trip. Nowdays, the only time I stay anywhere else is when I'm offered a free slot tournament. If it's my dime, I stay at the Luxor.

5 Stars: Great Hotel (by fido0314)

My husband and I stayed here for 8 days in the summer and had a great time. The hotel is fantastic and the pool was great. Buffet and all the other places to eat were also great. Not to many kids around so it is good for adults. Casino was fantastic. Would definately stay there again. We stayed in the Pyramid rooms, if you are in the towers the view is not that great. So make sure you reserve Pyramid Rooms.

4 Stars: Nice, but too far down the strip (by jt58612)

My husband and I stayed at the Luxor for 2 nights. The hotel is fabulously decorated. The room was decent, but didn't have a safe or a mini fridge. We were on the 17th floor, but only had a view of other rooms in the hotel. There is a tram that connects between The Excalibur, The Luxor and The Mandalay Bay. It was easy to get to the MGM Grand and New York, New York as well. My only issue with The Luxor is that it's too far down the end of the strip. We usually stay at New York, New York and will probably move down that direction the next time that we are there. Another good thing about the hotel is that they give you a coupon booklet with coupons good for 1/2 off buffet, $10 off The Midnight Fantasy show and a free King Tut museum tour.

5 Stars: Oh yea! (by vegasboyalrightythen)

First off I must say I've been to Vegas alot of times and I have to say the Luxor is on my top list to stay at. Alittle far from the strip but the walking will pay off. I would suggest a room in one of the towers just for the fact that the pyramid will have you walking all the way around the hotel just to get to your room. Hotel is great the rooms are great and the service is great. Did I mention but GREAt buffet. Best buffet in town. For the money and the quality I would reccomend this to anyone.

5 Stars: fun in Egypt (by sbs842)

Luxor is a lot of fun to stay at. There are small interesting details in the rooms as well as the hallways & casinos. I noticed even our lamp had little Egyptian faces on it! If you stay at the Luxor, you get a free ticket to see the King Tut museum, which is quite interesting. Plus, Blue Man's theater is located inside, convenient since that was the show that I chose to see!

5 Stars: Great Deal! (by vegas1313)

We love The Luxor. The rooms are nice and the staff is wonderful. Try the spa---it's a great spot for some relaxation from the heat and the strip. Check on thier website--they are always offering special deals with coupons that you will actually use in the hotel. The buffet is a great deal too--and actually has some pretty good food. And you can't beat the pool---it's actually big enough to handle the huge crowds in the hot weather--you won't feel as crowded as you do at several of the other hotels. Overall, it's a very good deal!

5 Stars: You can't go wrong with the Luxor (by dclducks)

In spite of having a condo in Las Vegas we still prefer to stay at the Luxor. It's fun. It's beautiful. It's a great value and in spite of all the new hotels that have gone up the past few years the Luxor has held it's own and remains a destination hotel. The rooms are very nice and the pool is one of the nicest is all of Vegas. It has great restaurants and the buffet is a terrific value with very good food. John Pinet would approve. Don't miss the Blue Man Group. Close to the New York, Mandilay Bay, the MGM, the Tropicana (with the Comedy Stop - a must for every visit to LV) and the Excaliber. It's my favorite.

5 Stars: Luxor is the best! (by bossgroove)

We have just come back from our third stay at the Luxor. What can I say? It's in Vegas!! This hotel is not like the rest. The atmosphere is dark and mysterious, not bright and loud like the others in this town. The Luxor is my home when I am there. The Blue Man Group is an Awesome Show. The spa, pools, gaming tables, dance club, 7 restuarants, IMAX theater, game room and much more is enough to keep you busy for a couple days. If you've never been to Vegas, GO. If you stay anywhere else, you have to at least visit pyramid. The elevators go up and down on a 31 degree incline, and you have to show your room key to ride them.

4 Stars: Not happy 2nd time around (by travelsalot)

I stayed at the Luxor last year and loved it..it was beautiful and had no need to request service. This year, the check in/out lines were horrific. We had to make repeated calls to maintenance to no avail-no response. I will seek to stay at other hotels on the strip the next time around. I was prepared to make the Luxor my home in Las Vegas-but as usual, some success can spawn a let down in Customer Service.

Best value on the strip. Love this place. Clean and beautiful rooms (reserve room in the tower, they are bigger than the ones in not pyramid). Pools are small though.

Stayed 2 nights (May 19-20). The casino is not IN YOUR FACE right at the front door like most hotels. Room was beautiful, lots to do. So much art and wonderful decor. Staff were great! I'd stay there again in an eyeblink (but would NOT do the virtual rides again!!). Bellagio most beautiful decor, Mandalay Bay most beautiful architecture but Luxor BEST ALL ROUND!

5 Stars: East & West Luxor Towers (by Maxwell327)

If you're staying at the Luxor for a convention, try to get one of their jacuzzi-tub rooms in the West Towers. West Tower rooms are the closest rooms to the ballroom. You just take the elevator down and go pass the spa to the ballroom. If you are in the West Tower try to get a room facing the mountains to the West, or try for a room facing to the North and the Excaliber Hotel. If you can get a room in the East Tower, try to get one facing the Strip to the East, or one facing the MGM Grand to the North. The McDonalds in the food court serves good food. The Swenson's has great ice cream and smoothies. Get a day pass to the spa and health club, it's worth the money.

5 Stars: Staff is Awesome! (so is the Spa) (by ZebraBaby)

I've stayed at several top resorts in Vegas, and I haven't encountered a better staff than the people at Luxor...they're extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. As for the Spa...resist the temptation to spend buckets of money at so-called "classier" spas at the Venetian and Bellagio...the Oasis Spa was wonderful and their staff was amazing! My girls and I were totally pampered and treated like queens...we went back 2 days in a row to receive treatments at the Oasis - I can't say enough good things about it!

4 Stars: It's not Egypt but it will do (by mestaton)

It's very easy to get lost in Luxor, it has a maze of corridors that connect the pyramid to the additional towers and to the Excalibur next door. The Pyramid room was really big with an awesome view of the mountains. There are no bathtubs in the Pyramid and the "inclinators" only go up one side so we had to walk far to our room. It's the most confusing casino out of all the others we went into explore. The food in the buffet and the cafe was sub-par for the price. The best food we had was from room service. The spa was great and lots of free drinks and snacks. I don't reccommend the hair salon. I found most of the service of desk/bell clerks average or below. The dealers were mostly friendly and fun to play with. The dry cleaning service lost one of my husbands shirts.

The Luxor is absolutely magnificent! At night its your first sign that your entering the city! When you go inside for a good gander and look up your totally dumbstruck by the fact that the floors overlap each other in a pyramid esque manner. Whoever architect this place did one keck of a job. The buffet is pretty tasty aswell. Left me moving my belt down a notch so my gut can wallow over. I thought the room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. At the end of the night we hated the fact that the hotel was so far out on the strip.

An architectural wonder, the Luxor's cavernous lobby is awesome. At night, the exterior lights and spotlight projecting straight up are impressive -- but the glass pyramid loses some of it's mystique during the day. The inclinators, IMAX, large casino and other high tech wonders make the Luxor a fun destination for families with adolescent children and money to burn--but the atmosphere isn't as rich or elegant as Bellagio or Venetian.

5 Stars: "Treated like a Pharoh" (by dray)

My wife and I vacationed in Las Vegas in December of 2001 and we stayed in the Luxor. We had a great time and the hotel was "simply marvelous". When we return to Vegas in June we will be staying in the Luxor again. Out of a possible 4 stars my wife and I give the Luxor Hotel & casino ****** stars. The Mack family

5 Stars: Highly Recommended (by Sergio)

My very first time at Luxor happened to be wonderful. I would definitely return. I had a great room rate and was expecting a very basic room. My room was a suite. I had a fantastic view of the strip and a Jacuzzi. On casino floor they had an Imax Theater. Overall the service was excellent. I was particular impressed with the check in facility at the airport. I saved a lot of time and money since I stayed away from the gambling tables, plus the people at the front desk were friendly and efficient.

5 Stars: Excellent Experience! (by lzamora)

I didn't know what to expect here since the rooms were very inexpensive, especially compared to the "nicer" hotels on the Strip. Boy, were my expectations blown away. Nice rooms, comfortable beds, great bathroom (at least in the Tower Rooms). The Cafe downstairs served great food and the casino wasn't as huge and confusing as other places. The slots were fairly loose and it was easy to get onto a BlackJack table. I highly recommend the Luxor!

3 Stars: Pretty on the Outside (by taradelis_citysearch)

The Luxor's huge laser beam emitting pyramid is one of the first things you'll see from the plane -- very impressive. But be content to gawk from afar. It's not that great of a place to stay. I've been there twice and both times the beds were incredibly uncomfortable. I've stayed on firmer mattresses at Motel 6. Also, the lines were very long in the check in area. It seems like they could have done a lot to speed things up (neither time was on a holiday weekend, btw). If you do stay there, resist the temptation to get a room in the pyramid. The layout is confusing and it takes forever to get to your room. The drawback of the towers is for some part of the appeal. It's close to the pool and can be loud if you're on one of the lower floors.
