All the previous 1 star reviews are very similar to mine, especially about long waits and them maximizing copays. I swear they are the worst, heres my story.

Worst doctor I have ever been to. I mean seriously, Dr. Tan is the absolute

I've now had 4 experiences with this place. I'll try and detail them as accurately as possible without revealing my own patient information. I'm a registered nurse, so I have good insight as to how all of this should work.

Visit #1
I was there to establish a primary care provider and I wanted a specific prescription for something. It is a very common prescription and non-narcotic. Any doctor would be happy to give this prescription, as it helps improve the health of the patient. I mad an appointment for 9:00am, right when they open. I arrived 15 minutes early and they were open. I filled out the necessary paperwork on the horribly disgusting, and obviously never cleaned computer console they have. This took until about 9:00am. I then waited until 9:45 until they took my co-pay. I then waited until 10:10 and they took me back, took my vitals, and set me up in an exam room. I then waited until 11:00 and Doctor Tan came in. The whole time I was waiting, I could hear every conversation he was having with other patients and staff members. Lots of personal information was heard, and this is a huge violation of HIPAA regulations. He saw me for a few minutes, and asked me to get some blood work done when I have fasted for 12 hours. I agreed and offered to make an appointment for the blood work, and he said "Just come in any time." So after 2.25 hours after my appointment time, I left with blood work instructions. I chocked it up to a busy morning.

Visit #2
I arrived as a walk-in at 11:00am. I again had to fill out paperwork because they claimed I had never been there before. So I did. I finished around 11:15 and waited. 12:00 came, and they took my co-pay. 1:30 came, and I was taken back for blood work. I was out by 1:45. Total time was 2.75 hours. I'm getting frustrated.

Visit #3
I scheduled an appointment for 1 week later for 10:00am. I arrived at 9:30, and didn't have to fill out paperwork. They took my co-pay at 9:45! I was hoping This was a good sign of a quick visit for lab results and a prescription. 10:15 I was taken to the exam room. I again heard the doctor and nurses discussing patient information. 11:30 the doctor comes in and asks why I am there. I remind him that I need lab results and a prescription. He leaves, asks the nurses and lab tech for the paperwork. 12:15 he returns. He says "Everything looks good." I ask for a copy of the labs and the prescription, and he complies I also had a problem come up that required a referral, and he said he would write one. Total time was 2.75 hours. This is getting old.

Visit #4

3 weeks after my last visit, I still had no referral. I called the insurance company and they haven't even had a request. They also said they would approve it in a second. I go in for an injury, and another referral. I make my appointment for 2:45pm. I arrive at 2:00. Co-pay was taken at 3:15. Taken back at 3:45. Doctor came in at 4:45. I ask him for another referral and tell him my other one hasn't come in yet. He says "We're working on it." Doctor walks out at 4:50. I wait up front for a prescription until 5:00. Total time was 3.0 hours.

The excessive waiting, unlawful open discussion of confidential patient information, the lack of any cleaning in the waiting and exam rooms, and the unprofessional conduct of both the MA's, RN's and MD's make this place an absolute horror. If you have only one option for care, you're better off at a hospital ER (other than UMC or Valley only because of wait times). I hope this helps you out with your decision for care.

Pros: NONE

Cons: EVERYTHING YOU CAN POSSIBLY THINK OF

.

Dr. Tan and his staff at Sterling Medical are the worst group of so called doctors and nurses that I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with.
Starting with the office staff, they are rude, loud and obnoxious. On top of that, they can not do their job. They scheduled my grandfather for an appointment and we showed up and the office was closed. They had no reasonable explantion for how this happened.
The nurse we dealt with is the most unprofessional person I have EVER dealt with. It took 4 weeks of calling serval times a day to get test results back. They never return phone calls. She left rude messages and was not even calling the phone number that we asked them to call. When we finally did get her on the phone she was rude and nasty.
Dr. Tan is no better than the rest of his disgusting staff and we had to seek a second opinion elsewhere. I would not trust any medical advice or help from a doctor who allows his office to be run so poorly and allows his patients and their families to be so disrespected.
Save yourself the trouble and DO NOT EVER deal with these sad excuses for health professionals. I am shocked that they are still in business.
If this were the last doctor's office on Earth, I'd stay home and treat myself!

Do not go to Sterling!!! Find another Doctor!!! You will wait hours to see the Doctor. The staff will just push you off, But they will make sure to take your money first. When you finally get called back after hours of waiting you will see why. People sitting around B.S.'ing. The Doctor's spending more time on their computers then spending on patient's. Lousy care. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!

Warning to all innocent people that could become victims of this horrendous medical clinic. Why are they allowed to continue seeing people? I had a medical emergency while on vacation and was taken here for treatment unknowingly. The doctor nearly killed me by making a completely inaccurate diagnosis.

The service was horrible and doctors were frightening. I thought that I had entered a quak clinic. The customer service afterwards was absolutely awful as well. I was screamed at and threatened by their representative about my insurance claim. It turns out that they misbilled my insurance company, and my insurance company happily rectified the situation immediately upon notification. I did not have to be abused and threatened. It was a terrible experience.

If you wanna choose your primary healthcare professional, please go somewhere else!

These people accept too many walk-ins at a time that they cannot follow the appointment schedule anymore. They make you wait hours and hours. It's comparable to a trashy ER with mostly uninsured individuals.

They're another example of unprofessional professionals who just want to rake in as much money as they can and not really care about what you're going through. If they are in the patient's position, I wonder how they're gonna behave?

It was the biggest mistake I ever made so don't make that same mistake especially if you're a very impatient person.

Our children go to southwest medical and they are seen within 5 minutes of their appointment schedule. Now that's real customer service and i think their worth every penny my insurance pays for!!!

Sterling Medical Group doesn't even deserve one star rating, huh!

Always ask for money upfront even when the insurance company is verified and told them that the patient is
not responsible for the visite than refused to give the money back after the insurance paid the bills. They won't see me there again..................:(

Everything said above is true except the good stuff.
The staff is very unprofessional, laughing joking loudly, goofing off socializing with each other but never enough time to answer the phone or help the patients. Try to make a phone call to this place, i don't know how they stay in business. I guess because they are cheap and take any insurance. You will get what you pay for here. The doctors don't review your history each time you return for a follow up so if you use them you will have to play doctor and be prepared to tell them what they need to do. They also set it up so that they maximize their number of copay payments from the patient, ie. they don't schedule your exams cost effectively to reduce the number of visits. You will have medical tests done and no one will call or review the test with you unless you call them but you can't ever get through to them so what do you do? Don't run out of your prescription because you'll play hell getting another one called in to the pharmacy but you can always go in and pay a copay to see the doctor and get new prescriptions written. I was even left in the exam room for an hour with the door closed. They forgot i was in there.......honest truth. The only reason i keep going back is the fact I'm on a tight budget.....my stupid decision. Oh, I just called them, I got the bookkeeper and she didn't know anything so transferred me to someone that could help. She then proceeded to transfer me to a recorded message that told me to call back.

Is it me or does this kind of service seem to be more and more common? One day in this place i could double their efficiency i guarantee it. I wish the owner of this place would hire me for a day, I'd love to clean house.

I moved from California 3 yrs ago.Had been with two other doctors here in Vegas, but because of job changes, forced to change insurance and doctors too .And thank goodness its all for the best. I have never been more happy and satisfied with the service that Sterling provides all this year. The doctors(Dr Tan or Dr Musni) excel in their specialty(Internal Medicine & Family Practice). They have help me in my difficult financial times(no insurance) by giving me samples or prescribing me cheap generic medications. Although the waiting time did not change all these years, the quality of care that I will receive matters most.It is much better than Urgent care or ER visit that I went to in the past which average 3-8 hrs wait. When I got admitted in the hospital, nothing more reassuring than to see your own regular physician. I will stay with Sterling Medical for the rest of my life.

Sterling Medical Group has appearantly gone under new management sometime recently and I was pleasantly surprised by the changes on a recent visit to the clinic.
I was also surprised by the convenience this companie offers with an inhouse lab for bloodwork, inhouse ultrasound capabilites and special rates for the uninsured for not only office services but lab services also.
I did experience a bit longer of a wait time but the care and courtesy I received was well worth it.
I must say that after reading the other reviews I was a bit weary of this clinic but it was close to home so I gave it a try and discovered an experience completly the opposite as those described.
I definately recommend this medical facility if you are looking for a great all around medical experience.
Appearantly new management has done tremendous things for this facility!!

Pros: Conveniently located

.

THIS FACILITY SHOULD BE TAKEN OUT OF BUSINESS. Here is my horrible experience with them.
- Sterling Medical Group do not bother to update their address with the ER Department at Desert Springs Hospital so ER patients are sent for exam to a different part of the city (Charleston instead of Flamingo)
- When calling Sterling Medical Group operators lie about their walk-in hours that they are by 5pm and then once you are at the facility they tell you that walk-in hours are by 2pm
- Once I was finally to be seen by a doctor I had to wait for four hours. Same was for all other patients who are all so aggravated for being stuck for so long.
- Medical staff at Sterling Medical Group do not even bother to close the door when talking to a patient so one gets to know what all other patients are sick from
- The staff working at the check-in LIES for appointments, doesn't speak English and when asked a question they keep on repeating the same sentence completely ignoring what you've just said.
- Regarding your medical record forget about it. To get the ER lab tests to the doctor they will ask you to fill up a form so that they request the tests and then later on when you ask the doctor about the tests he will tell you they don't have them and tell you to fill up the same form.
Eventually, when you somehow survive an exam with them they will tell you to give them a call on the day before going to your appointment for the results to see whether they got them. And when I called them the operator told me the person in charge was not there and was so OBNOXIOUS to say that I can go there IN PERSON anyway to check for these results.
There are no words to describe what they've put me through so I would like to raise the alarm for other people who might unfortunately get into the same situation as mine! If you don't want to get sicker than you are, stay away from them!

worst medical office ever. They made me wait for about 1 hr in the waiting room then another 20 minutes in the patients room n when the doctor came, my session was only 5 minutes and he diagnosed me as having gastritis when I've been having this sharp pain specifically only in one small spot of my stomach and I've been having it for 2yrs from then. He took no tests, just poked my stomach a bit n then he gave me some strong disgusting medicine that I did not dare take. What I had was more closer to an ulcer not gas. At the time they charged me very expensively but to find out 2 yrs later they filed a claim saying they never got the payment. I called my insurance company to find out they never even got a bill from that session and found out that they were trying to still even charge me more for the session before this one. This place is fraudulent do not go here.

Pros: really nothing

Cons: long waiting periods, rip off and overcharges you, doctor does not care whatsoever of patients, very unhelpful

The nurses there tried to prescribe a banned medicine to take care of a minor rash. They charged us an unreasonably high fee for the visit. The medicine was lindane, a deadly pesticide banned from America.
