I don't mind spending money for a special occasion meal providing the food and the service are commensurate with a high-ticket entre. (about $40 per entre.)

We arrived at 8:30pm and there barely was a wait. The greeter was courteous. When we first sat down, they promptly took our cocktail order and told us that water and bread would follow.

The good: I had just ordered the same cocktail for dinner the night before at the Voo Doo Lounge. The one at the other place was nothing to write home about, even though it was the same exact cocktail. I don??t know what they did differently, but the one I had here was truly spectacular. I??d give it a 10. I ordered a dirty martini using Grey Goose vodka.

The place was nicely decorated, on the main traffic isle to the concert arena (good for people watching), and was clean.

The bad: They came around with bread, and you get just one piece of bread, the size of a garlic knot (not very big). One of my dinner companions was very hungry and after asking, they finally came around with a plate full of bread, but the visual just served just as a tease. She thought he was just gonna leave the whole plate. Instead, he gave her just one, and moved on to other tables to pass out the other rolls and acted like it was the last bread on earth and he could only spare just one.

The wait for dinner was very long. I didn??t time it but I??m gonna guess to say it was 45 minutes. I realize the kitchen might be backed up or something, but our waiter never came by to say he knew we were alive and we were up in 2 more tables (or whatever). There was plenty of staff, in fact, they told us they were fully staffed that night gearing up for the exiting crowd (not until 11pm) from that night??s AC/DC concert. We were there during a non-busy time, as the restaurant was only about 75% to capacity and virtually no wait.

For a $40 entre, I want my waiter to be on top of things and attentive. Not only did we have a waiter, but we had a waiter??s helper/busboy who came by with water refills and the like. There really was no excuse I could think of to ignore us that long.

I had heard that the food here was so amazing that I simply couldn??t wait to try it. I ordered the Grilled Hawaiian Swordfish. It was overcooked, very dry, and there was nothing special about it. To me, the mark of good food is food combinations, seasoning, and the sauce. Anyone can make fish, chicken, and steak. It??s what you pair it with and the sauce that floats my boat. Anyway, there were no such good comments I could make. There was no sauce or special flavors and the food pairings were nothing unusual. How about you put together some Cajun seasonings or regional Louisiana cooking, for Pete??s Sake? I felt like I could have had the same fish for $10 at a local diner. It was plain Jane and dried out.

It came with Coucous. The coucous was very good, but hey, it??s coucous. Who can get excited about coucous? It??s like saying you got excited about rice.

The vegetable was asparagus. I guess they put it on the grill as well. It was so overdone that it brought back scary memories of my mom??s generation when they used to boil vegetables to death. It was completely wilted and also had no flavor or distinctive seasoning. If you??re gonna wilt it, then use some spices to rev up our palates. If you??re gonna make it plain, then serve it somewhat al dente so we can at least get in all our nutrients.

While the beignets were edible, they weren??t light and fluffy and were certainly forgettable.

I??m giving the restaurant a poor score for non-existent service (when they clearly weren??t busy) and a meal that was no better than Denny??s.

Pros: great martini

Cons: non-existent service, slow to get food, food not special

Came here for one of my friends birthday dinner. Food was ok, nothing too spectacular. I had the ahi, and, quite honestly, i've had better. fun atmosphere though.

We love Emeril's - there is just something about the excellent service, generous portions and always tasty entrees and desserts that keep us going back. On our first trip, I thought it was odd to have 2 waiters, but I know that it is because of this that our service is always above and beyond anything else we experience while in Las Vegas.

We go to Vegas at least once a year and it wouldn't be a trip unless we go to Emerils. They have the best food ever. The service is excellent, at least two waiters to a table. Save room for the banana cream pie!

We had the petite taster's menu for $65. With soft drinks, tax and tip, it came out to about $85-$90 per person.

The meal was fantastic. Started out with a light salad, great citrus after taste. Then moved on to a salmon jambalaya, which was pretty good. Flavor was average, but it the salmon was perfectly cooked (real moist, not flaky at all). and then the main course was fantastic. maybe the best dish I've ever had. perfect portions. pork tenderloin on mashed potatoes, with eggplant and a balsamic vinaigrette reduction. so tasty. everyone at the table agreed. the desert was just okay for me but everyone else loved it. it was a chocolate cake, kinda dry, but the best part of it was that it was too sweet.

Pros: food is great

based on emeril's nawlins roots and notable catch-phrase (bam!), we expected a lot more heat in the menu items. instead the menu was surprisingly ambitious and bland at the same time. the tai snapper special, for example, featured a cacophony of salmon roe, pickled mushrooms, beets and gnocchi. the fish itself was tasteless and undercooked, and the roe should have been left out of the dish altogether. the wine list was excessively huge (read: war and peace) and probably could have been pared down for this kind of menu.

Last night marked the second time that a bartender and/or server has adjusted their own tip on my credit card slip. The food is mediocre at best, SEVERELY overpriced and the ambiance...well, there isn't one. The whole place feels hectic, and with SO many other options in Las Vegas, it is not worth your dollars. Salad was wilted, dressing was OVERPOWERED by garlic and house wine, which is no big deal as far as taste goes, is extrodinarily overpriced.

Again, check your bank statements and see what really gets charged here. In addition to pretentious bartenders who create their own tips on your card, my check has never been right- there is always an extra salad, or extra glass of wine on it. For the money they feel they deserve, the experience is underwhelming. Skip it.

For the price, food definately did not live up to what I had hoped for. Server seemed extremely rushed and spent no more than 30 seconds at our table each time. The only thing was was extraordinary was the person who kept refilling our water every time we took a sip.

Appetizer (grilled shrimp) was ok. Entrees (pecan encrusted fish) was tasty but nothing special. Overall seemed like an upscale ruby tuesdays with a hefty price tag. Little presentation.

Six of us (casual 30 somethings) went to dinner at Emeril's Friday 4/25/08. I am by no means a food snob and am not too picky, however I'm spoiled to be from Charleston SC (a great culinary town) and expect a good meal, particularly for the prices. Our waiter (we didn't catch his name) did not give us a wine menu and gave us menus, half of which listed the special sheet for the night before. To make it easy we ordered a glass of house cab sauv - later found out were $15 apiece. The waiter took our app order and we soon received some underwhelming cornbread and pretty decent apps (chowder and a couple others). The waiter took our order and strongly steered us clear of the fish special ("Do not get it") This was well and good and he strongly recommended the steak on a plank - the 2nd most expensive item on the menu at $40. We also got two fish plates, the lobster -$60, and shrimp over rice and some sides. Then the wait began. Now, I believe that good food should take time but AN HOUR WENT BY AND WE DID NOT SEE A THE WAITER AND NO MAIN COURES. It was nearly comical that we had zero attention from the waiter for the hour we waited. The meal came and there was a strong disappointment across the table. Again, we are an easy to please group and really didn't mind waiting as we're on vacation and you know, it's Vegas and we're in a great mood until... The steak were flavorless, overcooked and just not good at all. The lobster couldn't have been two pounds unless the stuffing was included. The shrimp over rice was bland. The jambalaya side was plain and flavorless. The mashed potato and mac and cheese were good but $9? salmon entree and other fish entree were good. It was very disappointing - there is way to much competition to bother visiting - this is just a cash in on a name (and I like Emeril's show). By the way, on the auto gratuity for the 6 top the tip on our over $600 tab(no dessert, hardly any drinks) was nearly $90. Buyer beware!

Cons: Food, Service and Prices

as a devoted foodnetwork fan, i was overflowing with anticipation to try emeril's restaurant. it was a huge disappointment- the food was salty, portions were small, and it was really pricey. the bread that came out at the beginning and the cornbread was cold and dry- emeril, you can do better than that! the selection was limited- huge downside. all in all, ABSOLUTELY NOT RECOMMENDED.

We brought a group of 9 locals who gathered to honor our friend who just turned 40 years old.
We ran into a few people who worked at the restaurant who knew us, so we felt we were in good hands. We were wrong.
Long story short, we won't return or point others in their direction.
The ambiance is missing (no Bam band, no Bam music, No heartbeat whatsoever - they must have forgotten to pay their DMX music bill), the food is average - at best (and quite expensive), the appearance of the staff is dishelved and uninterested, and the design of the room is dated. The first cup of coffee was luke warm, the second, piping hot.
On the plus side was the orchestrated service... all dishes were delivered to the table simultaneously and in the correct position & our settings were "marked" during courses properly. The wine list is extensive and the "Som" is knowledgable. The banana cream dessert was fantastic.
It was a bummer because E.L's show and overall "Bam" personna dictates that of energy and excitement and a good time... his restaurant is anything but. It's a bland room with a cast of unenthused staff - from top to bottom, who are simply going through the motions.
In a town where there is massive competition, I fear the local crowd will not return. I'm guessing he drives a great deal of business from the tourist crowd who see his show, etc.
Oh, and did I mention it was expensive? $150 a head (including tip) is lofty for an avergae time.
We were all bummed - both for us and E.L. - we thought it would have been more legit.

Cons: Ambiance, Design, App's and Main Courses, Staff Appearance

service was poor - very slow and inattentive. i got the shrimp bbq as appetizer and it was good nothing out of this world. i also got the kobe beef which was a little fatty but tasty. my girlfriend got the ribeye with mustard sauce which again was just ok.

overall just average.

I'm an Emeril's fan and was very excited about coming here for my birthday. I did a little research on line to find out what people were saying. I came across both good and bad reviews and was a little skeptical. I was worried I was expecting it to be too good and be let down. I couldn't have been more wrong. The food was delicious!! I can't even begin to explain all the delicious flavors I tasted that day. If I could come to this restaurant for the rest of my life, I would die happy... that is how great the food is here. If you're worried about the prices being too high or being disappointed... I recommend you go for lunch and try them out. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Was in Vegas a week with husband and 2 teenaged children. My husband hates the Emeril shows and refused to go but the kids and I went the last night because we wanted to experience what we watch on The Food Network. Called at 4:45 got a seating for 5:30, seated at 5:25. Prices were a bit shocking when you are only having an appetizer and drink but once the food arrived the price could have been tripled. Hands down the best food of the week. We had one of the daily special cold starters with shrimp and salad, the cod and noodles and the lobster and mache. So good we decided dessert wouldn't hurt then either and once again perfect. "BAM" doesn't come close. Best $83 plus tip of the week. We were all stuffed and my husband wasn't happy when we were all too full to eat dinner with him until well after 10 PM. Going to New Orleans next year and will be going for the tasting menu at that time. The wait staff appeared put out by our lack of ordering a full meal got much more pleasant after ordering dessert though. Will visit any Emeril's I come across from now on and the kids are hooked.

Cons: cost but well worth it in the end, wait staff put out when not ordering full menu

We got there at 3pm and apparently, it was in-between lunch and dinner. Personnel showed us a limited menu of 6-12 entree?s. They seemed to discourage us from dining there; however, we had heard great things about the restaurant and were very hungry. So we chose to stay. After ordering, we asked for bread. The server refused to serve us bread because we had come in between lunch and dinner and it was against ?policy.? During our meal, we were served by 4-5 different servers. We felt abandoned, like the unwanted child. The food was very good; but it was overpriced. Our total bill came to $67 for three women (and two of them eat hardly anything). We were all still so hungry after the main dish that we had to order desert. So decide for yourself.

I couldn't say enough good things about this restaurant. I went thinking it wasn't going to live up to the hype of a "celebrity chef". Everything was great, the staff was very, very, pleasant and attentive and the wine pairing was perfect. I spent the next two months hunting down some of the wines. I loved the atmosphere and would go back in a minute.

My husband and I were so anxious to FINALLY get to experience the fine cuisine of that culinary mastermind EMERIL. We stopped by for a quick snack. We had the blackened shrimp and crabcakes...along with the BEST lemonade we have ever had! A little pricey for our taste...but worth it.

LOVED LOVED IT! We had dinner at Emeril's and were amazed by the taste of everything! Went here for dinner before the David Copperfield show. It was so delicious. We all ordered fish entrees. The fish was perfectly cooked. The sauce was delicious. However it was kinda salty. The service was good. They brought out the food all at once at the same time. The bread basket was good especially the cornbread. The table we sat on is actually pictured! We made reservations and had to wait 15 minutes.

The service was good. They brought out the food all at once at the same time. The bread basket was good especially the cornbread. The table we sat on is actually pictured! We made reservations and had to wait 15 minutes.

Pros: Fish perfectly done, ambience, service

Cons: wait

We recently got married in Vegas and decided to have a group dinner at Emeril's. There were 7 of us and had approx 4 servers. We didn't mind the multiple helpers because they include their tip on tables of groups of 6 or more. We were very impressed. We naturally were served all together. We had the barbeque shrimp and crab cakes for starters. Yes the crab cakes were DELIGHTFUL, no the shrimp wasn't the best we ever had. Infact, Gallager's at New York New York had the best appetizer if you're in the mood for JUMBO shrimp. We were pretty much disappointed in the shrimp appetizer. We did get another shrimp plate with pasta and oysters and was very satisfied with that.

My new bride on the other hand got the salad, and was very dissatisfied. I was pretty much shocked that we ate at Gallager's (unheard of to us) the night before and received the same entrees with more quality food. When she ordered the salad she figured onions, tomatoes, maybe olives, something unique would be included with her $10 salad. She got lettuce and vingarette dressing. Period. Of coarse the rest of our party shared our very expensive entree with her since she had lettuce and it was her special night.

We did enjoy our complimentary salamon mousse though. Most of the guests at the table said on a scale of 1-10 how would they rate their meal, most said 9, but three of us said 7, and my wife and I were the special occassion and I believe that counts.

One of the best meals I have ever eaten out. Service was excellent. We had a team of people waiting on us hand and foot. Great recommendations, knowledgable about food, menu, etc. This is a fish house, but they had several vegetarian options for me, and waitress was open to creating pretty much anything I wanted. I had the portabello mushroom pasta and it was delicious. My friend had ahi tuni and a scallop pasta appetizer, both of which she loved. We were full when desert came, but definitly made room for Emeril's famous banana creme pie. This was SO good - we faught over the last bites. (Just kidding, but almost!) I have the recipe from his website and intend to try to re-create the scene in my kitchen. This is a restaurant not to be missed.

We had to wait to get a table, but is was well worth it. The food was just sinfully delicious. The absolute best crab cakes I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. It was a little crowded and the service was not as prompt as I would like, but the food made up for it all. This is an absolute must for foodies.

Everything that hit the table was very good with the exception of the gumbo which was only average. I did enjoy my meal but have had better in Vegas. Service was excellent. Both of our servers were polite, attentive, knowledgeable and above all else friendly. Wine list reads like a dream, tough to pick only one.

I ate at Emeril's 5 months ago, and I can't wait for my next trip out to Vegas in July. The wait staff was incredible, our waiter made it seem like we were his only table. The staff under him was excellent also. The food was just plain and simple out of this world!!!! Starting with the Lobster/Crawfish bisque, and having the plank steak, which was the best steak I can remember having. I asked for it medium rare, and from beginning to end it was medium rare throughout! If you're in Vegas, go to Emeril's!!!!

The food...out of this world! The service...absolutely the best! It's been 10 months since I last ate at Emeril's at MGM Grand...10 months too long! My husband asked me where I wanted to eat and I said Emeril's at MGM Grand (even though it's 500 miles away). Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. As busy as they were, I was expecting something to be overdone; however, the seafood items we ordered were all moist and tender, leaving us craving it now for 10 months! The wait staff was the most attentive and professional I've ever seen (and believe me, we eat out a lot)!

I have eaten there a few times. Try the tasting menu. You get to try different things and it's paced so you don't get full so fast. Everything is always the most perfect flavors. Try and get them to give you an improvised tasting. Let the chef pick what they think you would like to eat.

I hear it was remodeled last month. Can't wait to see what it looks like.

Emeril's was the very first high end restaurant I ever went to in Las Vegas and it is still one of my favorites. It is one of few that I have gone back to and it deserves that distinction. The food is absolutely delicious from the salads to the entrees (try the stuffed pork chop) to the dessert (you must try the banana cream pie). Very helpful staff and sommelier if you need help with choosing a wine. It is loud and crowded and not cheap but this is Vegas. If you want a more laid back meal for less money, try the buffet. If not, try Emeril's. It is a can't miss.....

The food was delicious. Service was good(efficient, friendly waiter not snobby). The restaurant is in the MGM Grand so its a bit noisey. Decor was nice but nothing special. As an Emeril fan my expectations for service and food quality were met. I thought it was a little more expensive than it should have been considering what I got in return. For us it was a place to go for a special occasion. I'd reccommend you try it at least once.

My husband and I are huge fans of Emeril's shows and recipes. We were looking forward to tasting the fabulous dishes we though the restuarant had to offer. Firstly, the service was hostile and unfriendly. We were not planning on eating a huge meal because we had been eating all day- once our waiter learned that we were only ordering two main courses he lost interest - as well as his manners. I had swordfish that tasted as though all it had an entire container of Emerils' essence sloppily poured over it. My husband had the steak and it was just passable. Emeril would be ashamed to learn of the poor quality offered in this Vegas branch of his restaurants.

Apps were fine, Yellowfin Tuna was okay, and dessert saved the day. The Banana Creme Pie was decadent and deserved kudos. I generally do not like sweets, but the blend of banana and sweet creme was perfect. I was sad to say the overall experience was a lot less than what I had hoped for. Not somewhere I recommend or look forward to going back to. Sorry, but this "BAM" was off the mark.

As much as Emeril on TV annoys me, the meal I had there stands out as of the best ones I've ever had.

Like others have said, this place isn't romantic, but it has a nice atmosphere, surprisingly relaxed for such an expensive place, which might disappoint some people.

I went there with six other guests, and no one left disappointed (some may have left poor though).

A few of us ordered the tasting menu for $65, and really just a few of the plates (like the crab cakes, the red fish on grits, or the lobster salad) would have been worth the price. Some of the dishes were simply amazing. One guy said, "Oh my God," everytime he took a bite of his sirloin.

Personally, I wouldn't go here for the ambiance if you're looking for a quiet, romantic meal. But if you simply want good food....you're in good shape.

The food is mostly seafood, and is almost all fairly spicy. That's OK with me, so I was happy, but even the chicken dish I ended up selecting was pretty hot. Some people don't handle that much spice, so keep that in mind.

I also had some sort of gumbo or bisque that had duck and sausage and a mix of things...again, a little on the spicy side, but honestly one of the most enjoyable dishes I have in my life. I wish I had just ordered several courses of that, I'd have been in heaven.

The meal cost a bit more than you'd expect to pay for lunch, so not everything was perfect, but I'd certainly go back again.

We had dinner at Emeril's on Sunday, March 16th. The food was very good, but there was a lack of atmosphere...no flowers, candlelight, and if there was music, we didn't hear it, as the waitstaff has a gathering place right in the middle of the restaurant where it is a constant rush of activities, getting plates, pepper mills, etc. Despite the fact that we had made reservations two months ago, we were seated right next to this activity center.

I don't understand Emeril's being listed under "romantic spots"; the atmosphere is more clubby then romantic. The food and service certainly didn't live up to all the hype either. The servers had no warmth and the dining room was very noisy. It was a disappointing experience at best.

Looked forward to eating here months in advance.
The atmosphere is nice, but the service and food was a dissapointment. Servers (too many for a table of 2) were trying to figure out the utensils.
Appitizzers (shrimp) had way too much BAM seasoning. Main meal came out too early and was served cool as we watched it sitting in the doorway to the kitchen.
This was for lunch-$120.00 for 2. Not worth it! I can't imagine how thier dinner is served when it is probably more crowded with suckers like me.

My first trip to vegas we had lunch here. The beef and pasta appetizer was almost a meal in itself. The barbeque shrimp were perfectly seasoned and the banana cream pie is heavenly. We had dinner on our next trip and were equally satisfied. The clam chowder is delicious and the crab cakes are crispy and were perfectly complemented by the tartar sauce. I highly recommend Emeril's but if you want to save a little money, try going for lunch which was half the price of our dinner ($200 for two but WELL worth it).
