You know....I grew up with Miskelly's being the store to go to....Chip and his brother were always there to make your buying experience the best....Now, after their father is no longer in the picture, they have gone down hill......The sales people are horrible and their service techs are uneducated and slow......My husband and I went to purchase an entire 6,000 square foot house worth of furniture from Miskelly's and here is what happened.....We had on blue jean shorts and t-shirts with flip flops(middle of the summer here!!!) Not one sales person asked us if we needed help....when we went to the desk and asked for a sales person, we were given the once over look then told they were busy helping paying customers.....the girl assumed we were just going to waste the sales person's time by just looking and not buying....My husband demanded a manager to help us but, was given the same once over by him and told the sales people were busy.....My husband had a briefcase full of cash with us!!! My husband politely put the briefcase on top of the information desk and opened it for the two Miskelly's people to see and said, " I had eighty thousand dollars to spend in here today.....too bad none of you will be making the commission off of any of it now(in a loud voice).....He closed the briefcase and turned to me and said, Let's go to unclaimed freight like I wanted to do in the first place.....Five salesmen(suddenly they appeared like magic when they saw money) followed us to the door begging for us to come back....I will NEVER go back there as long as I live!!! They judge people there!!!! They take one look at your clothes and that's it! Seeing as I own a store myself, I know not to do that to my customers! You can never judge a book by its cover!!!!! Maybe the people at Miskelly's should teach their salesreps this fact for future reference!!!!!! If you want a quality product and good service.....don't go to Miskelly's.....My mom bought a couch from there last year(against my wishes) and she had to throw it out 13 months later because it broke...they refused to replace it...It was hardly used in her formal living room(not the casual living room) ...I'd say it was sat on maybe ten times....piece of crap!!!! She went to unclaimed freight and got a great deal and a great couch! Miskelly's is selling you a lie people!!!! They sell third rate crap for first rate prices! Don't fall for it if you value your money!!!!!!!

We purchased a three piece leather family room set. It is a recliner, reclining sofa and also reclining loveseat. This was in November 2023. About three weeks later I called because when you sit on the loveseat, you can feel the metal. The padding is terrible! We wanted bit replaced. The manufacturer warranty is Southern Motion also in MS. We also purchased the extended five year warranty. Rhonda, in Customer Service said "NO". They could only fix it. We didn't buy a broken loveseat! It is just my husband and myself, no children. We are not big people. She said they would order the parts. That was the end of December. I called the second week in January and was told it takes 2-3. I patiently waited and called today as I have not received one call.Rhonda said today the parts are on back order for March 3, 2014. It seems to me that a so called reputable business would call their customers with any update of info when it's so long. I asked Rhonda this today and was told she doesn't call til the parts are in.I also called Southern Motion today and spoke with Drew who seemed very nice. He said he would look up the info and call me back. No call back today. Wonder how long til it's fixed?? Any guesses?? We will not buy there again!

After shopping at several furniture stores in the Mississippi area during the week of Thanksgiving, I was excited about going to Miskelly's to purchase a sectional and a small dinette set on 11/23/12. I went on Black Friday with the expectation that the company would offer a larger discount because it was Black Friday. I was very disappointed with my shopping experience overall and most dissatisfied with my sales person. I was given the Black Friday discount of $150 off of a $2500 possible purchase. After learning that the sectional was a discontinued item, I asked for discount - no discount. I will pay cash for the items - no discount. Come on people...are you there to sell furniture or take orders. Where was the selling? No, let me show you some of the features of the sectional. What kind of budget are you working with...maybe I have something comparable for a lower price.
I should have known it was a bad sign when you have to page a sales person and then wait 15 to 20 minutes for them to come to you. I am glad that business in your location is doing so well that you can turn away customers that want to pay cash in exchange for a modest discount.

I went into Miskelly on March 17 and ordered a daybed, mattresses and chest. They told me it would have to be ordered from the factory and would take about 2 weeks to get here.
2 weeks later, they said it still wasn't in.
2 week after that, they called and said it would be another 7-10 days.
11 days later, they are telling me that it will be here in about 3 more weeks.
I've heard that in a case like this, they don't actually place the order until they have several for the same factory - it saves them on freight charges.
I could have ordered this same furniture online for about the same price.
I will cancel the existing order and do exactly that.

I'm dissapointed to see all of the negative reviews. My husband and I have shopped at Miskelly for a long time. The people that work there are just down home people. They don't care what you wear as long as you are there to shop with them. The way the economy is now a days, I'm sure they enjoy the business. I have had wonderful dealings with the managers and the sales staff. This is a great place to shop. I completely recommend this place if you are in the market for some new furniture.

March/ 2011.Buying furniture should be a happy experience; what happened to mine. I went to Miskelly's in Pearl when they had the tent sale thinking that I would find something I like on sale. I ended up going in the big store and buying the Stanford Antique sofa and chair in a 1/2 and ottaman. My furniture was delivered 2 weeks later and the sofa was torn, so the delivery guy called in and got another one ordered for us. A week later, the other sofa was delivered with the bottom torn. They wanted to send someone to repair it and I said no take it back. That same day I went to Miskellys and talked to a female manager and told her I was not happy because I keep getting torn furniture, and I didn't know if I wanted to keep it. She told me to walk around and see if I wanted anything else. I did, but I told her that I should be getting compensated for this. She said I didn't ask for that and offered to take off the delivery. I felt like I shouldn't have had to do that. She offered the delivery($100), I said that was not good enough. She told me she would leave a email with Gentre and he would call me the next day. Of course, I had to call him at 3pm only to hear that he was busy with alot of people standing around him and that he could offer me $125 and get me another sofa. He said he didn't know if I got the furniture from under the tent or in the store. I was wondering what that meant, but I told him I purchased it in the store. I said ok, but I couldn't sleep the whole weekend thinking about what he said. So, I called him Monday before he made the transaction and told him to have the guys pick the furniture up because I didn't want it. I told him that I was just not happy and would rather just get the money back and go somewhere else. The delivery guys got the Furniture at 1:30 on Friday. Gentre said he would do the paperwork on Saturday. I got a voicemail on Monday from him, saying that he needed my card number. I called him back and got his voicemail, so I decided to call the store and ask if someone could take my info and get the process started so I could get the money back on my card. I felt like it was getting tedious that the furniture was received on Friday and here it is A MONDAY, and I still don't have a call saying that the paperwork was done so I could get my money back. I could have gotten a call on Saturday for that information. When I purchased the furniture, they didn't have to wait. Information was put in and MONEY APPROVED on my card. I feel like if you can't deliver, don't benasty when the customer decides to cancel the whole transaction.

OMG ~ I thought I was the only person that felt this way about this so called "Biggest" Furniture store in the state of Mississippi. I purchased a living room set in 2007, which consisting of a sofa, loveseat, chair and ottoman with matching pillows. During the first two weeks, my ottoman had completely fallen. It literally looked like a bowl with legs. I called the salesperson repeatedly to no avail, just to find out she no longer worked there. After speaking with a manager, they sent a repair guy out. He repaired the ottoman, but also informed me that Miskelly sells some of the worst furniture he has ever repaired. He further said the furniture is made with no quality, like on an assembly line. The more they can push, the better. The pillows on the back of the sofa and loveseat will not stand at the top, completely drooped and the seats of the cushion are flat. I went back and forth with a manager and she informed me that I bought the cheapest furniture they carry and as a matter of fact she has the exact same loveseat in her office, but it is not sat on on a regular basis and it should not have been purchased for everyday use. I informed her that I purchased it on sale, but the regular price was not cheap at all. She finally agreed to replace the cushions of the sofa and loveseat. Which she did and of course they are no better quality than the first. After going back and forth with this same manager, she again informed me that I should have purchased something of better quality (more expensive) for everyday use. Of course a refund was completely out of the question. She thought refunding me the purchase price of the protection plan I purchased and giving me a $100 gift card would satisfy me. I accepted her offer because I was totally sick of her lying to me repeatedly. My livingroom furniture from T & D Furniture held up for 20 years (and a lot less expensive) and I only purchased new furniture because I wanted a new look. My Mother purchased ALL of her furniture from Miskelly when they were small (in the Roomstore building) and more personal. Chip and Oscar Miskelly were her salesmen and knew her on a first name basis. They seem to care and appreciate the customers before they because so BIG. I will NOT purchase anything else from Miskelly furniture. They no longer appreciate the value of a customer.

I purchased a leather sectional and a recliner a year ago at the Madison "Ashley's" store. The sectional is holding up fine so far...the recliner however is at the Miskelly Pearl location as we speak. The cushions have completely gone flat, however it's at Miskelly's to see if it's still under warranty for the lift mechanism on the foot piece...it has completely fallen apart. Since it's been less than a year it should still be under warranty...we'll see...I'll keep you posted...my star rating may change.

I waited six months from our purchase to review Miskelly. We were waited on and they do have quite a selection but in the end I can't say I'd recommend them because the furniture just has not turned out to be the kind of quality we thought we were purchasing. Staples have fallen out. But also these things on the feet of the chairs that are shaped like large tacks, a couple have fallen out where my pets and children could step on them. Strings are raveling, cushiness has diminished and it's only been six months.

We had bought a bed there eight, maybe ten years prior so we really thought we were getting decent stuff, but no. It's as though they are not getting from the same manufacturers or something.

They should also consider extending their protection plan to cover pet related furniture stuff. We haven't had any issues but had we been offered the option of paying a little more for a plan that covered pet damage we would have taken it and that's money they would have made. Just a thought.

In the end though, the quality just hasn't proved up to par for the cost.

I was very disapointed in the Miskelly store located in Madison. My 80 year old parents went in a bought a recliner. They paid cash and it took about 20 min. to get paper work taken care of. They were then told they would have to go to the warehouse in Pearl to pick up their chair. They were told the location in Madison does not keep any furniture in stock. It is against their policy to transport furniture between their warehouse and their store in Madison for customers to pick up. They should have been informed of this up front. They do not drive in heavy traffic and can not drive to Pearl. If you have to go to a different location to get your furniture then what is the purpose of going to the Madison store. This store is nothing but a show room. By the way it cost $76 to have a delivery to your house---not hardly worth it for a $200 chair.

I would agree with the comments about the Madison location. I too went in, after leaving the Neshoba county fair, sales person treated us like we were from the planet Mars. Spoke to manager about it, he had the personality of the Loch nest monster. All he said was our salespeople are 100% commision so why would she not want to assist you? We left without purchasing at that location. Went to the superstore location and bought a sleeper sofa. What kind of garbage are they selling have had 2 repair people out in the first week of ownership. Why would you sell something this cheaply made? We thought by buying a brand name like Simmons that we would get a quality product....NOT!!! Serviceman even commented on things not being made like they use to be. If the companies would stand up to the manfactures about quality and not price than quailty would be there. However, companies like Wal-mart and obviouly Miskellys' presure the manufacture so much over price quality goes out the window. Well Miskellys' so does my business and the business of my friends and family. Once you pick-up this piece of junk and give me my money back I am done with you. People want a quality product for a fair price.

I shopped at the Ashley store in Madison, which was owned by Miskelly. Not one sales person approached and asked to help me. Mind you, there were very few other customers in the store. (There never was any cars in the parking lot.) After going in twice, I never went back. I see they have changed the name to Miskelly Madison. Unless they change their appraoch to customer service, they can forget it. I wondered if it was because I was alone and shopping or if it was because I was casually dressed. I had the cash; I wanted to buy. Stupid salespeople. Poor management. I spent my $4000.00 somewhere else.

I bought a couch and love seat at Miskelly's and the quality was so poor I sat the loveseat beside the road for the garbage men to pick up. Someone did pick it up. The couch is nest.

.

Well I have been to Miskelly furniture many times & have never been waited on. My husband & I went looking for a sectional sofa, we had to track a lady down to help us after being ignored by several. What I wanted needed to be reapolstered. We then went to the big desk to do the paper work, told her we were paying cash, she told us that they like to finance. Sure they did.We left there went to Howard Miskelly, found the leather ottom, went to T&D in Pearl, the very sofa in the fabric, color & same name brand was right there in front of me & I saved almost $1500 & they accepted my cash. We also did a test one very busy Saturday at Miskelly, we put on polo, liz, rolex, diamonds just 4 weeks ago..what do you know, we were greeted at the door & we were asked at least 3 more times. We didn't buy a thing. I found what I wanted at D Noblin.

I bought a couch set from Miskelly and I just love the color, quality, and style of the set. I am presently surfing the net to find a way to receive advertisement of the sales. I was fortunate to find an afford couch set as a blessing. Now, I'm look forward to finding other products that will fit my needs. I give the store a five star rating.
