I was moving to Kentucky and my transmission broke down on Interstate 40. I called and they towed me in. I needed a place to stay while my truck was at the the shop. They took me (and my dog) to a motel and even found a coupon for me for the motel. Since I was moving I had a trailer hooked to my truck with my valuables in it, and they secured the trailer for me and even took my plants inside their shop and watered them for me to keep them alive. They even unpacked my suitcases for me and delivered them to my motel room. They kept me updated during the whole repair process and when it was finished, picked me up at my motel in my truck, loaded my valuables and plants for me, hooked up my trailer, gave me directions and kindly sent me on my way. The nice man's name was Dave and I cannot express how graciously he bent over backwards to help me. If I could give Aamco in Fort Smith a 10 star rating I would. They didn't just go the extra mile. They went the extra 100 miles. My truck works great and it was quite a refreshing experience to witness there are still fine shops like this who really value their customers and deliver quality work. I can't say enough. A huge thanks to you all!!
i had my transmission rebuilt in 2010 i asked about a new one they said no to much and they could rebuild mine the day i went to pick it up the price went up ended up paying $2175.13. and the first thing they said is not to drop it in 1st or 2nd gear cause it would bend the parking shaft rod. i asked if i needed a new trans and he said no it would run forever like that now the truck sticks in park and grinds when shifting gears. i recommend not to use them i got ripped off another trans shop said he would do it right for 1300.oo but after this i dont know if i can trust anyone and am thinking of selling it and eating the loss
The Police Department trusts them to fix their cars and that says a lot. Seems like every time there is at least one police or emergency vehicle there when I come by. They did my transmisison over 4 years ago and it still works perfectly. Since then they've done all my oil changes and tires even. I guess there's a reason they've been around for like 50 years.
After having my car at the dealer for a month and still not being able to figure out the problem, I was recommended to take it to aamco. As a last ditch effort I gave them a try and THEY SOLVED IT! I was so happy. Apparently they solve a lot of the problem cars that other's can't and other shops even take cars there when they can't figure it out. They made a believer out of me. I thought I was going to have to sell my car. Thanks guys!
I give them an A++ I took my car to Aamco in Fort Smith today for a dash light that had been on for months. They were able to diagnose the problem and fix it. The cost for doing this was minimal. My car has been a very fickle vehicle since the day I bought it about 16 months ago. It is a used 2002 Lincoln LS and I have since found out that this was a car that no one recommends buying. I have to say I have had my share of problems with it, but after today, I will take it to Aamco with any future issues. Great, knowlegable staff who went above and beyond to make sure everything was in order. Thanks Steve Hotz and Thomas Huff!
Took my old car in to the dealer for clutch issues, and they quoted me $2,500 (which was more than the car was actually worth!). Needless to say I shopped for a second opinion. Aamco quoted me $750 and got me fixed up within a couple of days. I have nothing but good things to say about Aamco, and they are now my "go to" source for automobile repair and maintenance.
I have a Dodge truck having transmission problems. Dealer told me I needed a new transmission for over 2 grand. They said my codes meant automatic rebuild. Another shop told me the same thing. I took it to aamco and they inspected it for a while and found out it needed a harness connector that was causing the transmission codes. $200 dollars later I am back on the road. They saved me $2,000 dollars!! It is really nice to find an honest and skilled shop. Thanks aamco!!
I've never had such deal with such crappy people. They had a car for 2 months, after being paid in full. Keep on putting on a used rebuild transmision. Giving the same excuse "should be done next week". Well, they did do a speedy service the first time they had the car, well that is until the car stopped working after 2 blocks. Thanks guys, seriously thanks.
My truck was having some shifting weirdness and anoher shop told me I needed a transmission. The dealership wanted $100 just to look at it so I went to Aamco and they checked it for free. Instead of a transmission they found it had a bad sensor and fixed that for me. Plus, while I was there I got an oil change. I didn't even know they did all the other car stuff. I don't know what that other person is talking about with all the bad english Aamco saved me a lot of money and they were really nice to deal with, too.
These guys find out what's really wrong. I had a problem with my tail lights. I was told by one shop it would be $50 just to check it out and about another $700 if it was what they thought the problem was. Well I went to Aamco and in a few minutes they found out what the problem was and had the problem fixed and they did it for FREE. That's right I said free. I will be going to Aamco from now on.
Don't take your car to AAMCO in Fort Smith Ar. Two Days ago I sent my car in fort a complete tune up and front brakes. The tech at AAMCO tells me I will be getting a fuel fillter change , new air filter, plugs and replace worn plug wires, and also top off any low fluids. I send my roomate in with the car because I am in Military and work odd hours. Today two days later check under the hood.
The Air Filter was not replaced the fuel filter was not replaced nor the plugs or wires. They billed me 99.95 and did nothing, on top of doing nothing they broke my coooliant cap ind just didn't tell us.. because we are females. When we call them back today and pertended to be new customer they quoted us a new price at almost thirty dollars more. I called the AAMCO head office today and was told "there is no warranty with a tune up and it is based solely on the tech's discretion". Don't you think if you pay nearly one hundred dollars for some thing to be done, it shouldn't be left up to the tech's discretion. I am very disappointed and will have nothing more to do with this disreputable bussiness, except to report them to the better business bereau. I work had for my money and take it very personally when it's stolen from me by misleading mechanic.
