If I could give 0 stars, I would.

PLEASE do not go here! I have waist-length hair that grows very slowly. I have been babying my hair for 17 years to get it to this length! I have NEVER bleached or colored my hair and never ever wanted to. I LOVE my natural haircolor. By the time my hair grows out, it will be turning gray. Now it is ruined one week before my engagement photos and two months before my wedding! I desperately wish I could sue them for malpractice.

I went in looking to get a body perm. The girl, Megan, said my hair was too long. I know this isn't true because I've had body perms in the past with my hair long and they work great. Instead she recommended I get a little bit of "natural" color that would match my hair perfectly and would just give it a little body. I was skeptical, but since she made it sound like it would fade out and wouldn't be near the top layers, I figured it would be fairly innocuous.

She did not tell me she was using bleach. Furthermore, she left the bleach on for almost 50 minutes! I have naturally dark golden blonde hair, and when she finished it was pure white! There was one large chunk right along the part line and several other large chunks under the top layer. The really white parts are now snapping off like twigs. Mind you, bleaching is permanent **NOT WHAT SHE TOLD ME AT ALL!!!!**

I went to Bella's in Des Moines and asked for the best colorist. She did wonders fixing it, but my hair is still pretty messed up, and the color she did will eventually fade out and I will have one big white chunk again. The colorist at Bella's said that even if I had wanted highlights, these were very poorly done. She also said Megan was just being plain lazy when she told me she couldn't give me a body perm because perming it would have taken longer than bleaching it. She said my hair is in great shape for a perm and that they wouldn't have hesitated to do a perm if I hadn't had my hair bleached. They said people typically have to have coloring redone every 8 weeks. Over 10 years, I figure this will cost me roughly $30,000 to fix and maintain. (BTW, Bella's actually ended up costing less than Finesse... who would have guessed!?) That's not including the cost of all the special shampoos and hair products I have to use now to add protein and protect the artificial hair color from fading as fast. These products are awful. Even the volumizing color safe shampoos make my hair completely flat. Remember, I wanted MORE body, not LESS!!!!!

My hair will never be the same. I wanted to donate it when I did finally decide to cut it. Now I can't because it's over processed. I will see how it looks in a month. I may have to cancel my wedding. I want to kill myself.... and Megan too!

Compared to another salon I tried last week, this one seemed to run more efficiently. THe prices seemed better too. I got a facial and bikini wax here. The facial and wax were done okay. The lady who did them was also a teacher at the beauty school. I would recommend this spa over others in the area.
