.

I was a member of World Gym before PFC took over, and I can honestly say things have gone downhill. There's the saying that "you get what you pay for". Well, that fits the bill for PFC. I only pay a little over $10 a month for membership, one of the few bright spots of this facility. The other positives are it is so close to my house I can walk to it, it is usually clean, and their equipment is okay, but that is about it.

I barely go to work out there anymore. It is always crowded. Not good for someone who admittedly can't handle being aound large groups of people. The crowd doesn't thin out until 9 PM, and by then it is too late to work out. I'm left with waking up at 4:30 in the morning to go, which is a tad difficult for me to do. As a result, finding equipment to use to work out when I do go becomes a chore.

While they have numerous cardio machines (the ones I like to use always seem to be taken), their weight-training selection leaves much to be desired. I can't get the machines or equipment I want to use without having to ask someone if I can step in for a set. Of course, we'll never see an expanded weight training area, because they don't want "lunks" (their term for bodybuliders) there. So much for the "Judgement Free Zone".

I can't really comment on the staff, because I don't have much interaction with them.

I'm on the verge of quitting my membership. While $10 and change is a good deal, I'm not getting any use out of it. Their cheap rate is a double-edged sword. It makes using the fitness center affordable. However, it causes way too many people to join. In addition, PFC seems bent on taking over every competitor's centers, exhausting out alternatives.

In the end, you may be better off investing in some home-gym equipment.
