I should preface this by saying I NEVER leave reviews. Not for restaurants. Not for product purchased. However, my experience was so terrible I had to leave this one.

We went there after apple picking on a beautiful day - Sunny and 70s. The restaurant had great reviews and it's set by the lake... but to say we were disappointed would be an understatement. A huge understatement.

The view was beautiful and the menu looked really good - creative and reasonably priced and since it was around 1:30, we were hungry. Unfortunately, that is where the positives ended. Even after repeatedly making eye contact and asking other servers to contact our server to take our order, the server did not bother to come take our orders for 35 minutes - I remember since I looked at my watch right afterwards and it read 2:05. I'd also like to add that during our time waiting to order, we saw another table simply pick up and leave with menus on the table. Considering it took so long to get our order taken, we asked him when we would receive our food to which he replied, "in 15 minutes." 2:20 (15 minutes) came and went. 2:30 (25 minutes) came and went. At 2:35, we asked him when we would receive our food and he said that "it would be out shortly." At 2:45, another table next to ours spoke to a different server and told her they'd been waiting for over an hour to which the server replied, "I'm sorry, we have a party of 60 in the other room. That's just the kitchen."

At 2:50, having not received our food after sitting there for 1 hour and 20 minutes we just left. We wasted our whole afternoon and will never be visiting the Lakehouse ever again. I have to say this has been my worst restaurant experience.

I have been to the Lakehouse a few times before, was never impressed with the food or service-only the view, I went last weekend and was pleasantly surprised to see they were under new management, had a new menu and affordable prices! Our server was very knowledgeable and recommended my husband and I dinner special's which we both loved! We were so impressed we're planning on coming back next weekend for the great atmosphere, service and awesome new menu!!!

Who said you can't see the lake? Where were you? The view is awesome, the decor and overall atmosphere has improved since it was the Riverside. That being said, they are constantly changing their menu and prices. It is too expensive, and the food is just average. They no longer have pizza, which is disappointing because it used to be good. But with the ever changing menu and prices, repeat customers never know what to expect. It's a decent place to stop for a drink and sit outside, but that's about it. Parking is a problem, especially on busy weekends. When it was the Riverside, a few years back, the food was consistently good with reasonable prices. My family and I used to dine there on many special occasions. We don't anymore.

I don't normally share my opinion but in this case I feel I must.
I stopped in the the Lake house and ordered a pizza to go the other night.
I have not been there in several years.
It took just shy of one hour to get the pizza and cost almost 15.00. Don't really care about the price but I could not eat the pizza neither could my kid and he can eat almost anything.
This pizza was so discusting the entie thing went right in to the garbage. What a waist of an hour and 15 bucks. I would not go back to the lake house if the food was free.
By the way there is no view of the lake.

Place has nice ambiance,great view
way too expensive..and the menu is changing
i think to cut costs...french fries are now i believe
gross prepackaged done in transfat not vegetable
oil..they were really good before this change
and now they give you like 50 on the plate
gross..i cant eat them. Food needs a little
better quality, prices too high..6.00 for a small
tossed side salad...too high. i will try them again
and review here again wine way overpriced
sad...bottles all 27 and up..house is 8
so they have you, and who knows why wine
isnt included in their happy hour..they should
take a trip down to fort myers and see what happy
hour is !! sad,wine is always 2 for 1
even at carabba's,outback, many private restaurants as well ...to exclude it to me makes
no sense...does anyone agree ??
it keeps me from visiting weekly..the bill is always
so high.

We came upon this little known eatery, quite by accident, On a Sunday Drive. I am so glad we did. We live about 20 miles away, but it is worth our weekly trip to go there. the food is excellent, waitstaff helpful and friendly, views are great. On our first visit we introduced ourselves to the owner. From that day on she has greeted us by name and always makes us feel special. It is so not the cookie cutter chain restaurant. It is family owned and staffed. The food is fresh, and prepared when you order. I almost forgot what that was like until we ate there.Old fashioned quality food served while you sit and watch the water and all the goings on. The decor is magnificent. If you go there just once,,,you will be hooked. The Crafts from Milford.

Great view, located on the scenic Housatonic River. Great food. Known for Friday night happy hour and great burgers. This is a popular spot for lunch to the immediate areas.
