Sandy Pope, owner of the Lumberyard Pub, booked my band for some gigs about 3 months ago. No sooner were they confirmed when I discovered that she has an awful reputation for treating bands poorly. Several instances of her unethical behavior were documented on Craigslist and sites like this. I personally know of two bands that were booked and then replaced without notice, because she found a cheaper duo at the last minute. To add insult to injury, she never bothered to tell either band of her sly move. I guess this was her way of getting support from 2 different band fan bases and only having to pay for one.

Then her behavior got bolder. There are other cases where 2 bands were told to leave after one song ?? being given the excuse that she didn??t like their sound. Shouldn??t she have done the proper screening BEFORE the bands started playing? Another sly move ?? cash in on the bands fan base that had showed up and then don??t pay the band. What a stinkin??, low-life way of conducting oneself.

Well, true to form, we soon found out through the grapevine that our upcoming gigs with her were already given to a DJ. Maybe a DJ better suits her needs but she should??ve made that determination BEFORE hiring us for multiple dates. In the words of the old Cheech & Chong skit: ??If it smells like dogpoop ?? it is dogpoop!?

All musicians beware of The Dunderyard Pub!

The Lumberyard pub is the best thing to happen to Georgetown. The burgers not only come out like a piece of art but taste amazing! They have the best wings in CT, as well as an awesome beer selection of 12 draft brews and some micro-brews in the bottle as well. I barely look at the menu anymore, Jenny (one of the owners) picks my beer and whatever food she feels ill enjoy and she has yet to be wrong! The music is always different on the weekends and the Sunday brunch is the best deal for miles, $25 all you can eat and drink! The prices are reasonable and the people that work there will treat you well. Deffinitely a great spot for anyone!

Decent atmosphere for a sports bar. Pub food served in plastic baskets. Good place to watch the games that you can't get on cable.

I did not have a good first experience with the Lumberyard Pub...but thankfully I gave it another try. The second time, was vastly different and much better. This is more of a large bar than restaurant. The food is pub fare with lot's of flat screen t.v.'s and a few pool tables. The food is decent. My family and I go there and have come to like it very much. Free peanuts while you wait, decent burgers and free board games to play while you wait for your food. Live music at night as well.
