I have a Girls Night Out group that meets every other Thursday. During the summer, we're always looking for places that have wonderful outdoor dining. Since the winter months force us indoors, we always like to find the perfect place for dinner where we can enjoy a great outdoor setting as well as good food.

I work in the Middletown area and drove by Pig City BBQ many times this past year; watching diners take in the sunshine and suggested we have a Girls Night Out event there earlier this spring. When we arrived, the hostess greated us promptly and with a smile.

Our server promptly greated us as well and when he found out it was our first visit, he was more than happy to answer any questions we had. He was very knowledgeable and very professional and offered great suggestions.

Since we're a wine group, we were a bit disappointed that they didn't have much of a wine selection but the food certainly made up for it and has not stopped us from returning. Now that we've reached this record setting heat wave, we've turned our group to indoor dining. We found that whether you sit inside or out at Pig City, you get the same wonderful, courteous service.

With everyone in our group, we have all pretty much run through the menu and sampled just about everything. The choice of sauces is a real treat. There seems to be a sauce for everyone. Personally, I've found everything to be wonderful without sauce. The meat is so flavorful and tender, sauces aren't necessary. The meat on the ribs fall off the bones as well as the wing appetizers. And, the brisket is the best I've had in a very long time.

I even find myself dropping by for lunch there. The homemade soups are the best I've had anywhere. And, with a side of fresh cornbread, they are a meal by themselves. So, it's not just the BBQ that should get you in the door.

The atmosphere is friendly and the numerous TV's are informative. I highly recommed Pig City and think you'll agree.

Pros: Great Brisket, exceptional homemade soups, fall from the bone ribs.

Cons: Minimal wine selection

I drove by this place for about 3 months. The outside doesn't begin to give you a clue as to what's inside. Upscale BBQ! No farm implements or license plates on the walls. My wife says "we can have bbq tonight, but only if its pig city".
Great smokey pulled pork (not dry), and six pretty good sauces (i don't like the carolina mustard)...too mustardy. I had the ribs which were good and smokey and also not dry. My wife loved all the sides and said they were like home made. The pork chop was OK.
But i tried their KC burnt ends...and if you like KC burnt ends you will love theres. there regular brisket is texas style and it's real brisket (not chuck roast).
it's good stuff. i'm a regular there now.
