The manager of this establishment needs to be fired. He is openly hostile towards his patrons when they complain of bad service.

We received inordinately slow service (tables that came in after we did received their food 15 minutes before we did) and when we complained about it, the manager's response was, "Well, it wasn't intentional," to which I said "No one said it was intentional, it just wasn't acceptable." He offered no apology or even excuses whatsoever. When my wife told the manager that the waitress said she would be right back with the hashbrowns for our order and instead she had run off and was taking another table's order, he then leaned towards her in an intentionally intimidating fashion and in a snide voice said "clearly nothing is going to make you happy," (this conversation had lasted about 20 seconds at this point... hardly a point at which a manager should have exhausted his patience for an unhappy customer and was completely out of proportion to the level of our complaints.)

At this point I am getting angry, but am still baffled by his insane behavior (the man is intentionally intimidating my wife), so I say "that's it, you f*d up, we're leaving." He then says "What did you say???" and now gets in my face (as if to provoke a physical confrontation) and I respond "You f*d up, we're leaving" and he says "that's it, get out of MY restaurant." to which I say, "we already were and we won't be back." We then proceed to leave the restaurant with him tailing us for absolutely no reason BECAUSE WE INITIATED THE LEAVING, NOT HIM, with him following along making a grand scene. I tell him he is being ridculous (as we enter the lobby from the dining room) and he threatens to call the cops. The whole exit out of the restaurant took less than 15 seconds from the table to the door and yet he is threatening to call the cops.

I know how this sounds. It sounds like I'm leaving some critical piece of information out, but I'm not. The guy is a hothead, and not management material and supposedly he's the manager over the entire place (we called back later to see if we could find out his name and what his position is). I would avoid this place like the plague.

Went on Saturday and arrived right at noon. Were surprised to be seated within 5 minutes and had our order taken right away. 45 minutes later we thought stacking our glasses at the end of the table would get our waitress's attention, but we still had to wave at her to notice us and decided she would finally ask if we wanted refills. She didn't get them, however, but proceeded to go to the table behind us and do their billing and then go to get someone's food who had been there only 10 minutes. She took her time and didn't bring all of us refills and we caught her on another trip past our table (taking care of more recent customers, no less) and asked her to get the manager. The manager took his time coming out and didn't seem to be able to read English, as he went to the other table and asked them how they were doing and that he had heard that they had asked to see him. We had to get the manager to come to our table and told him the situation and we told him what happened and said that we would just like to cancel our order and go. He merely repeated what we said, back to us (they call that active listening in sales, but you're actually supposed to offer a better solution that is a win for the miffed customer and for your business). The manager offered no solution and, as we left, we noticed people coming into the restaurant and informed them that they may not want to waste their time. My family of 5 has lost 45 minutes of our lives with this place that we will never get back. Ordering our food was the end of the attention that the waitress would pay us, as all we saw from then on was her back, as she 'served' a table of people who were leaving and a table that had only been seated for 10 minutes before receiving their food and their order was delivered wrong, by the way). Got great service at Denny's (corner of Nicholasville & Southland), though. Will be calling corporate (818-240-6055), by Monday.

The first visit to this IHOP wasn't great. We were seated and proceeded to place our order. All was well. about 45 min. passed and others that had arrived after my party were already eating and one group finished and left. We had not received our food. Our waitress was talking with a friend at a booth across from ours. She more the less ignored the fact we did not have food and our drinks were in need of refills. We could not get her attention so we went to the cashier to pay for the drinks we had drank so we could leave. We were then greeted by management who gave us a cert. for 2 free meals. We waited 3 months before returning because management had said they had prob. with the help that they were in the process of finding others.. The 2nd visit was not much better. Our order was not accurate and the dining area was not clean. Needless to say not a place I ever want to return to.
