I was first recommended to Katayama Framing almost a decade ago after seeing an incredible framed piece of art at a friend's house in Portland. She told me it had been framed by Katayama and had survived muliple moves and a minor earthquake which knocked it to the floor and the piece still looked stunning. I had been looking for a company to do just that: to frame artwork that had been passed down generations, new art and mementos I had gathered overseas, and I wanted it beautiful, timeless and well-protected. I found all this with Katayama Framing.

As a longtime customer, I am consistently impressed with their quality, selection and service and whether I have a simple concert poster to frame or a piece of art I have taken months or in some cases years to buy, I trust only Katayama with the project. The Katayama style is also easily recognizeable--you can spot their signature deep bevel and handcarved frames in restaurants, hotels and galleries all over town.

Katayama makes a great place to visit, to see the unique projects that go through their doors is astounding and can be a bit like a museum. They also have great artwotk in their own gallery. No matter what, Katayama Framing is definitely worth checking out if you are looking to showcase a one-of-a-kind memento or artwork that's close to your heart.

I walked in the large red door not really knowing what to expect. The old print I had bought at a yard sale seemed rather insignificant compared to the outstanding artwork gracing the walls of the spacious interior. The informative staff even helped me research the piece that i had brought in, and I found that i had picked up a little treasure of an etching from the early 20th century. They helped me select the most beautiful hand guilded 12 karat gold frame that truely complimented the art. I was so impressed with their customer service. When I got my piece a couple weeks later, I was stunned to see how beautiful it had turned out. I'm so glad that I went to Katayama. They treated my art very professionally, and I will be back for sure with more treasures.
