Claudia's

Maybe I was just lucky. I walked into Claudia's to the sound of a woman's laughter ringing off of the walls. (Girls in a sports bar - score 1 right off the bat.) I turned the corner, and in addition to people at the multitude of tables there were a few people clustered at the far end of the bar, including laughing girl, who it turns out a) is super cute; and b) works there. The girl then hollers "punch him in the kidney!" and I look up to see the group is watching Ultimate Fighting on one of 5 HD flatscreens. Nice. I settle into one of the - I kid you not - thrones at the bar, and immediately, like 1 second later, a different girl (curvy in a Kim Kardashian kind of way, and there is nothing wrong with that!) comes over, smiles, and says "let's talk about liquor, Honey." I look up, her eyes are green...

But I digress. The bar was pretty busy, but those 2 girls kept me in stitches with their dynamic, and never once let my glass run dry. The beer selection wasn't huge, but it was diverse and local. The food was waaay more than I expected for the price, and tasty pub fare to boot. I spent $9 on a pizza that was HUGE and actually very good. The cook even got into the routine out front a bit, and it was plain to see that most of the customers there were regulars, and that the staff was happy to be there.

It ain't fancy, but it ain't tryin' to be. There were sports. There were girls. There was good beer and food. I'll be back.

There aren't many sports bars in this area. Claudia's seems to have been there for decades. They have a grip of televisions and you can usually have any tv changed to your liking.
