I purchased a mattress for my son a couple weeks ago. I have recently had surgery and cannot pick this mattress up. Their commercial says that they deliver for free but this service was not offered to me when I made my purchase.

I called the location and originally spoke to someone who kept me on the line for 10 minutes while he logged onto the computer and told me he was going to look up my purchase. He had not even asked me at this point what my name was so I am not sure how he planned to do that. When I asked him if he needed my name to look it up he told me he did and had me wait again.

Finally, I asked him to speak to a manager. At this point Jimmy, the assistant manager, got on the phone and was even less helpful than the first guy. The most he told me he could do for me was charge me an additional $60 to have it delivered to my house. I asked to speak to the actual store manager who apparently was on vacation. Jimmy told me that they didn't have any district managers or headquarters offices, that the Clackamas store was the headquarters. If the Clackamas store is as high as it gets I highly recommend you don't attempt to shop at any of them.

Besides the service I have received since I made my purchase, the shopping experience itself made me uncomfortable. Their staff stand around the front door like used car salesmen and their store is incredibly unkempt. It was dirty and the sample mattresses on the floor were dirty. I bought a mattress really quickly because I wanted to get out of there as fast as I could. I knew my mattress would come from a warehouse so that wouldn't matter but I didn't want our children sitting on anything.

I hope this helps someone who is undecided on where to shop. I know that for my family, we can't afford to buy new furniture on a regular basis so when we do we hope for good quality and good service.

I received terrible service at the Beaverton Mattress World. We purchased and paid $308.00 for a full mattress, box spring, and frame 2 weeks ago and were guaranteed it would be at the store to pick up by today and possibly sooner. We called at 9am today and were told the bed would be ready at noon. At noon we called and were told it was still not there. At 2pm we were told that the first shipment had arrived, but that our product was not on it.

The salesperson told me that the bed was guaranteed to be on the second shipment, and should arrive in about 2 hours. When we still had not received a call at 6:45, 15 minutes before the stores was to close, we tried calling, but got no answer. We then headed for the store, calling again on the way from a different phone, and were told the truck had still not arrived. We went in to the store and told the salesperson we wanted a refund since our bed had not arrived. We were given no apology or explanation of why are bed, that we had already paid for and been guaranteed arrival of, had not been delivered.

When we got back home, we were so upset about the lack of customer service we had received, that I called the corporate headquarters and explained my frustration. The man offered no apology, and again I got no explanation for this happening. He put me on hold, and came back saying he could offer me the bed for $300.00 if we wanted to pick it up tomorrow. I was appalled that he was only offering an $8.00 discount. He told me he knew the bed was currently at a warehouse in Clackamas. I was shocked and asked him how this could be and why, since we had been repeatedly told throughout the day that the bed was on a truck to be delivered today. He then put me on hold, yet again, and came back saying that he could sell me the set for $300.00 with two free pillows, and asked what store I would like to pick it up at. I explained that I wasn??t sure that I did want the bed, since I did not trust that the bed would even be at the store, after we were promised delivery today and it never came. I asked what time the bed would be delivered to the store tomorrow, and he said he would have to find out and call me back, so he fumbled for a pen and took my number. He did call back, and said he could have the bed delivered tomorrow, and guaranteed that it would be to the store by 4pm Sunday. I said fine, have it delivered, but I felt this was horrible customer service. I had no confidence that it would actually arrive. And here it is Sunday at 6:30pm, and we never did receive a call that the mattress was in to pick up.

We already went to Bedmart this afternoon and purchased a bed for a great deal, which we brought home with us and can sleep on tonight!

I have always heard Mattress World commercials on TV and the radio, and after this experience, I will tell everyone I know what an unprofessional and disreputable company it is.

It's not dissimilar from the parents in Mexico who use their kids to sling Chiclet They haven't updated their annoying commercial tagline for years. I recently moved back to Portland and was very disappointed to see that they were still hacking their mattresses on TV. What happened to her sloth of a husband? Did he finally have a heart attack?

I didn't see such a discriminating lady ever!!! yes you heard that right. A Rac*st saleswoman works at the store located on the Cornell Rd. The store gives 101 days guarantee after you purchase a mattress from them. I believed them but when I found a better deal on the same kind of mattress at Costco and went back to ask them to match it she went crazy and said dicriminating remarks and literally asked to me go away because she just couldn't match it.. When I tried to remind her that she should honor the 101 day price guarantee she just said that my firm voice is harrasing her.. Such people with no values are a disgrace to this country. People like her will do anything to meet their profitability. Never ever ever again I'll step into this store. Horrible!! Horrible experience!!

My mother bought a bed Oct. 8th. A much harder bed was delivered, that wasn't a short box on the bottom like she asked & after five nights, she was so sore, she couldn't sleep on it anymore. She's been sleeping in her recliner ever since.
The manager of this store was her salesperson. She went in to tell them it wasn't the bed she picked and He pulled her paper work out. He pointed out it said "firm" and my Mom said it wasn't the same bed she picked on the floor. At this point, he was clearly irritated & said: "I'll show you it's the same bed!" he ripps the tag off the bed and stops, "oh this is wrong (not able to type what he said), it's not the right tag on this bed". It WASN'T the same bed that was sent to my Mom's house. He argued that it was.
After that, my son and I went with her as support. When she addressed it again. His response was to laugh & shook his head.
My Mom told him that she would take the set that was on the floor. That way she knew what she was getting. He called saying there was a problem that the bed was a queen not a full & it was $100.00 more. My Mom agreed & paid it.
She was promised that it would be delivered that Saturday. It didn't happen. Then she was promised it would be delivered the following Wednesday. When they didn't show, she called & they said that it's scheduled for the 31st. At this point Mom wanted her money back.
We called the store on speaker. The lady said he wasn't in, that she would have to check into it. I asked for the District Manager's number she said she couldn't give it out.
I found the number to the main office and talked to someone there. He made arrangements for it to be delivered today. If my Mother is happy with the arrangement, then fine. However, I'm still not liking the fact that they are selling my Mom a used demo bed for $100.00 more and not making up for all the hoopla we had to go through to get this taken care of. Today is October 28th, 2008 do the math my mother has slep in her recliner.

We arrived 15 min to closing (and stayed a half hour after) and he could have hurried us or encouraged us to choose something, but instead he was very, very helpful and patient. He asked us our price range first, helped us looked around, gave us our space, answered questions, and was very knowledgeable. He actually told us to buy the cheaper one (of two) if we couldn't tell the difference (wow!). There was no pressure and the price was excellent. It was a wonderful experience.

Their shops are a little hard to find, but, if you are like us and want to spend as little money as possible and still get a good quality mattress to sleep on, the location is worth looking for. The ads need a little updating, but, the point is made just fine.

Terrible place to buy a mattress. They will sell you whatever they can to make a profit, act like they know what they are talking about and send you on your way. Once you find that the mattress is falling apart or is a cheap piece of junk and you try to call and get help. They give you the run around, do not stand by their product and could care less. We had a $900 mattress that lasted less than 6 months, once we wanted them to help us out or at least practice good customer service, they said that they would be happy to sell us a new one and there was nothing they could do for us. Rude sales people, pushy and lack knowledge. Go to sleep country. They are awesome. They know what they are talking about and listen to your needs!

I like the commercials, though lately I wonder what happened to Sherry's husband. He used to deliver the tag line "If we can't beat any price on any comparable mattress, then the mattress is free!" Now its just her and she's cute, but I hope they didn't get divorced or anything. I've bought two mattresses there, and yes, they did up-sell me to one of the NASA designed memory foams, but it was not done aggressively. In fact, my first salesman was loaded with cologne, to the point where it was making me ill, and I had to ask for a different salesperson, which I got on the spot, and he--who didn't smell like a fragrance dump--got the sale. I put some money down, got a year same as cash, just paid it off without interest charges. I'd go again. Hey Sherry, you're a doll, but what happened to hubbie?

I had a warranty with an Englander mattress set that I bought. They came and measured the hole and told me that it was a defective mattress. The mattress has a 2" hole in it. Mattress World told me that it will be 3-4 weeks for them to replace it. I called Englander myself and took the mattress to the factory and picked up a new one that day. Mattress World does not want to help you after they have your money.
