American Cowgirls is a great place to dance, hangout, and be with friends (not a meat market). Although they always have fun girls dancing on the dance poles (on the weekends) it's just for fun and not trashy or gross. The down side is the small parking lot which is a 1/3 the size of the neighboring coffee shop that is extremely TOW happy. But on the upside there is tons of street parking which is great for people who can only come in for a drink or two before they go watch our awesome Portland Trailblazers or Lumber Jacks play. The service is as speedy as the night allows, and overall the staff is friendly and accomadating. So I hope to see you soon, The almost never rude Mgr.

I've been to this bar several times for different reasons (watch a game, dance on the weekends, and to just relax). Everytime I've been in staff has been friendly and prompt, not to mention the drinks are fairly strong for the price. I've paid cover a couple of times, but it was only $5 and this place is way better than the meat-markets downtown that charge $10 and make you wait in line. The parking is kind of an issue because the parking lot is very small (don't get confused and park in Starbuck's lot because they will tow you), although everytime I've been there I've found on-the-street parking rather quickly. During the week there's a pretty small crowd, which I prefer, but they still have drink specials, karaoke, and a HUGE big screen TV for games. The weekends are busier, with a DJ and a dancing crowd (pretty much all ages, though). Whether you're looking for a chill spot during the week to have a cocktail and some good food or for a nightclub to dance on a Friday or Saturday night this is a cool place. Check it out, you won't be disapointed.

Pros: good food, good music, huge TV

Cons: parking lot is small and very little country music (still good music though)

Thought based on the location in close proximity to the rose quarter that this would be a good place to hang out before a LumberJax Game. Boy was I wrong. Pulled into the parking lot which was clearly marked for American Cowgirls customers only, parked there and went in. Had 2 vodka redbulls at $8 a piece and dumped a twenty into teh video poker. Yhen walked across the street for the game. When I came back a little over 2 hours later I noticed my Jeep was missing. I went in and ytalked to the bartender who recognized me and told him what happened. He told me point blank to my face that American Cowgirls has no say which vehicles are towed and that Sargents Towing watches the lot and decides which vehicles are towed. I called the tow company and found my jeep was about a mile away in North Portland at Tillamook and Vancouver. So I walk up there and end up paying $189 to get my jeep back. The tow company said that american's cowgirls staff directs them as to which vehicles to tow, which they put on thier paperwork. So basically it seems like American Cowgirls and Sargeants towing work hand in hand to mess over their customers. With customer service like that I really doubt they deserve to be in business. But IF this seems like your idea of good people to give your hard earneds to, by all means stop in for a drink.

We came in a large grp for an event. Mgmt said "No cover, if we get before 11pm". The cashier can't get her communication w/ mgmt straight. She tried to charge cover from some of the member of our grp who came in at 10pm. We had to go through a loop of confirmation w/ mgmt. Bar food was good. Especially the pork sandwich. It's pretty chill place to hang out. Music was GREAT. Though, the cocktail waitress couldn't get our drinks right. She brought us the wrong drinks a few times. Later when I closed my tab, the cocktail waitress over charged me by 2 drinks. I explained to her that I didn't order those 2 drinks. She aggressive told me that I did and was extremely RUDE about it. I felt as if I had no other choice, so I just paid for it, w/ the attn that if next time I do come, I will not open a tab, but either pay cash and/or cash out each time I use my card. So, PLEASE BE AWARE of your tabs next time you come in & decided to start a tab.

Pros: Great place to hang out

Cons: HORRIBLE SERVICE from staff

.

Evidently you have to be under 25 to get any sort of service, the staff was extremely rude. Wouldn't return cover charge after not even 5 minutes in the door, because there weren't any tables (they only have five). Even the manager was rude, I would recommend not going to this place.
