It's likely more or less fixed now as far as clarity, but I doubt I'm the only one whose recent experience with Psu books was highly negative & pathetic & a bordering-on-criminal ripoff - charged more than the new book purchase price to rent what was positioned under the sign for a used rental.
The problem is that their policy requires books be returned potentially before finals are even over - a different deadline than for when you sell books back, which wasn't made clear at the time besides in the fine print of the receipt. Now there are signs everywhere - hence my belief I'm not the only one to have this experience. If you had this experience please join me in reviewing here & encouraging others to take their business to Cedric's instead!
To top if off, the Ceo's response to the question of 'how would someone talk to a professor about their grade if they don't even come out until at least the following Monday (after which one would already be charged more than the difference in price) was, after prodding about the corruption of the whole situation, 'You're pretty full of it aren't you'?
This is the respect level this "non-profit" has for students & their education. So I spent over $150 on a book I thought I was to be renting for $55 - also wasn't clear that the used rentals, though there was signage for them, weren't there - there were new copies in that space just like in the new book space. Look for my letter in the student paper about this if I get around to it...

Every time I go in I am treated with suspicion like a criminal to the point of annoyance. This is not the place to browse or comparison shop, they just want you in and out. As someone else mentioned the prices are hardly cheaper -7.00 was the case in my purchase. In addition the hours are horrible, not on par with the variety of schedules the university offers.

Cedric's is great. You can get books for a lot cheaper here, and you can sell back your books and get more than a couple dollars for those $80 textbooks you opened once. Definitely go here before spending way too much at PSU.

Cedric's is a much better choice than reselling to PSU bookstore. Higher pay for your books, and then they sell them lower than the bookstore does! Win to sell books there, win to buy books there. They will sometimes buy back older editions that the bookstore isn't buying any more, and if they're selling the older editions, they'll tell you at checkout it's not the newest edition.
