.

We stayed at Paradise Cove Resort for 5 days in Aug '10, in one of their rental trailers on the waterfront side.

The good: The clubhouse was nice, hot showers, large kitchen, clean bathrooms, etc, it's a great bay for kayaking, and we caught a 35lb Chinook.

The bad: The RV area is basically a large gravel parking lot with picnic tables, no firepits or any real visual appeal other than the bay itself. The spaces are pretty close, saw folks who couldn't raise their awning without hitting the trailer next to them. The boat ramp was very steep and the dock is in need of repair, large sections are twisted and partially submerged, though there were enough boat slots for the boats that were there. We looked at photos online prior to our visit and they must all be old photos.

In the rental trailer, the wall by the sink was rotted out, the door did not fit into the frame so wouldn't close/seal, the hot water heater didn't work (had to wash dishes in the club house), the windows didn't open and the fan over the stove didn't work so any indoor cooking set off the smoke detector (thankfully we had brought a camp stove!). We would have left but it was a family gathering and the rest of our group was staying in an RV space in their own trailer. We contacted ARA the day after we checked in (they were closed when we checked in) about getting a reduced rate , they drew out discussions until we had checked out then said nope, services rendered.

Overall: It's ok if you are taking your own RV but we would not recommend if you plan to rent a trailer.

I had a wonderful time and definitely plan on returning. The property has just been purchased and the new owners are intending to make some drastic improvements in the near future. Coulld it actually get better?!?!?!? Thank you Monica and Phil. Youve got me hooked!!!
