This park is a good, easy walk with a few steep hills. Great for beginning hikers. Beautiful plants and trees of all kinds. Great when they are left standing. Muddy during the winter.
One thing I noticed hiking today was that there were chainsaw sounds which made for a less-than peaceful setting. As I walked to the parking lot, following the sound of the chainsaw a beautiful, tall, healthy tree crashed down through the forest. We heard multiple trees fall while we were there in a short hour's time. That is just one of the accounts. As we left the forest with tears in our eyes the chainsaw started up again.

I didn't even know this park existed till a few months ago. Now I'm there 2-3 times a month. It's conviently located to just about any where in the city (near Lewis & Clark), but lets you feel like your in the middle of nowhere.
