Being a former employee of this Door Manufacturing outfit, I have personal experience of their quality and expertise in their making of any door. For what the market demands, I think it's fair to say that the customer
gets an excellent deal. The skill of the people making the door is phenomenal. Accuracy of the special cuts and pride in their workmanship is the key assets of this place. This is one big family and that's what makes it so special. The owner and CEO have their hearts into whatever is produced. I've had over 15 years experience with this place and even through hard times it just keeps on going. The owner of the place had over 40years experience in the door market from clean-up to buying and selling door plants.
I've watched people come and go from there just as any place has turnover. I thought some people were
indispensible until they got fired and people had to be trained to replace them. Remember the saying:
dip your hand in a bucket of water and pull it out again. Notice how the water fills in where the hand was.
A plant can always backfill with whoever they need for any position. For the last 10 years or so I ran a table
saw, among other equipment. I cut materials for producing doors. I liked my job. The reason why I moved was because I tried for a different job there and wasn't the right fit. I got a raise shortly after I was turned down for the sales job. Someone upstairs was looking out after me. I used the experience I gained from
working in a door plant and tried for a job elsewhere. Almost 3 years ago I got that job in a Cable business.
That raised my pay by 3.50 an hour to start with. The door plant is a good place if you're single, your spouse works or you're semi retired. The pay will get you by and the work is not as hard as the mills but
this place is like one big happy family with a great picnic and profit sharing based on year end figures. I'm
sure the owners have figured out who I am wish them well.
