I went from white belt to black belt at Traditional Taekwon-do and I couldn't be happier with my choice.

TKD is a good choice for a great work out that won't bore you, and at the end of the day you've learned something new and fostered a valuable skill. Try doing that on a stair stepper!

The instructors are awesome. The environment is friendly and safe. Located on SE Belmont near 29th, it's centrally located and parking is never a problem.

This is a professional school with several classes throughout the day as opposed to other schools where the lead instructor has another job and can only provide 4 or 5 classes per week, at best. I have a crazy schedule and love that I'm able to hit a morning class one day and an evening class the next.

Call Mr. Johnson and then stop by and watch a class.

Pros: Good Atmosphere, Strong Instruction, Lots of Classes

Cons: Trying to think of one....

My son has been attending the Traditional School of Taekwondo for over 3 years. It has been a great thing in his development as a young man. The environment fosters a feeling of "family" and many relationships have formed. My son has evolved from being inquisitive, to enjoying it, to being passionate about his TKD. He has also gone from an ok level of confidence to being quite confident in his physical, mental, social, and intellectual abilities. I see this as being directly related to his tenure at the Tradtional School of Taekwondo. My son regularly shares his growth he has received from the school with the younger students and takes on his self assigned role of mentoring them and motivating them to rise and reach for their own new heights. Master Johnson is the tops! Keep up the good work with all that enter the doors. I absolutely reccommend this school to any person of any age, you will find value in the experience.

Pros: Flexible schedule;great instruction;family friendly

Cons: none in 3+ years

I have been attending this school with my seven-year-old son for over a year now, and I recommend it highly. I find the classes to be very engaging, challenging and enjoyable, even for a martial arts novice like me. The atmosphere is very supportive, and there are plenty of black belts always willing to help out a beginner.

I also appreciate the fact that classes run seven days a week, and the schedule allows lots of choices of times to work out. The emphasis is on continued improvement of skills and this is very possible even if you can't attend as often as you'd like. I always feel like I've had a great workout after each class.

As a parent, I feel that my son's time here is well spent. He enjoys the kid's classes and had made new friends. Joining this school has been a wonderful choice for both of us!

Joined this school about 2 years ago. Wanted to be a part of something with my son instead of simply watching and its been incredible. The instruction and intructors have all been more than we could have hoped for. Within this group, if I could have chosen my son's brothers and sisters, I would have had to look no further. If you are thinking of a place for just yourself or your family then this unpretentious do-jang would be a perfect place to start.

Mr. Johnson is great with children and adults alike. The students work together and it makes it feel more like a family than at a gym.

We've moved a lot, and been in 3 different tkd schools, in 3 different states. We came to Traditional Taekwon-Do 2 1/2 years ago. This has been the best school of all! Unlike other schools, this one concentrates on the students and their progress. Our other schools spent a lot of time asking us to purchase pictures, medals, having "party" fundraisers. My 2 older kids love going and think Master Johnson is quirky and funny. They laugh a lot with the other kids, but they are also serious about their practice. My youngest is only 3, but she already can't wait to go and have lessons too!

I joined this school with my son and we bonded through the shared experience. The school has excellent instructors that are extremely skilled and helpful. The school does a great job of providing instruction for both adults and children. The school does periodically offer great seminars in other forms of martial arts. Also, the school has a terrific sense of community in addition to the great martial arts.

I've been at the Traditional Taekwon-Do school for about 7 years now. I started the sport at the age of 50, and have to say it has provided me with all the benifits i was looking for. Full body exercise, stress reduction, and a whole new community of friends. I would highly recomend that if your considering looking at a Martial Art that you check out this school.

My child has grown tremendously through her experience at Traditional Tea-kwon-do school. She has gained confidence, skills and fitness during her time there. Besides all of that we have gained a way to communicate personal life strengths with our daughter by talking about the tenets of Tea-kwon-do. She loves her school.

Great instructors. Very family friendly. Many classes at different times. No contact sparring has been greater for my slightly older bones.

It's a pretty sweet school, I've been there for awhile and I gotta say it's great. Mr.Jonhson is a cool instructor and he's funny, he's a really good teacher, as well as a mentor. You learn a lot, and you actually apply what you learn, through demonstrations and sparring. I'm a teenager, so for me having a sport that allows me to be myself and learn, is cool. It's a great place to grow, you not only develop your skills, but you also grow as a person and the lessons that you learn can be applied to everyday life. Honestly, it's unlike any other martial arts school, you have a second family there.
