Can't speak for anyone else, but I have purchased three Jetta's in the last eight years with all service performed by Rey Reece, and have always received excellent treatment. Terri has always been my service contact and she has never been anything but cordial and accomodating. She has always gone out of her way to find the best deal, lowest cost (special offers, promos, etc.), and on numerous occassions has stated "you're fine, you don't need that yet" when I have suggested a maintenance item. Having owned three VW's in a row I have spent a fair bit of time at the service center desk (routine stuff) and have never, repeat, never overheard any type of rude or condescending language from any service person. I should also note that this owner is reeeeally picky, and I would bolt in a heartbeat if I was not given the service I expected.

Do Not Take Your VW to Rey Reece for service. Check the B B B and other reviews. This is a common experience.

I share this experience to save you time and especially money. I have made the mistake of taking my 2003 VW Passat to Rey Reece VW for service this past week. I have never had a good experience with Rey Reece in the 12 times I have taken my car in for service. 5 of these times were for recalls and the others for issues as a result of their work or problems with the car. Each occasion there has always been an extra charge and again I went to pick my car up and $98.00 in surprise charges.

I scheduled an apt to have recall work done on my car. I took my car in and checked it in. They advised my that there was a second recall on my car that they would take care of it and take a look at my window also. I signed the invoices thinking that I was signing for both invoices. I was actually signing one for the recalls and one for the rear window on my car that was not working. When I scheduled my appointment, I did not ask for my window to be looked at. I told the schedule after being asked if there was anything else to be looked at, I stated that my window didnt work, but I was not worried about it so, no.

At no point from the time I scheduled my appointment to the time I picked my car up, was I made aware that there would be any charges. When I went to pick up my car, as has been the case in the past, there were charges that I was not made aware of. I was told there would be charge of 98$ for looking at my door. That this was a common issue with the windows, but it was not recalled on my model. I said I would not be paying 98 to get my car back and for work I didnt request. The follow quotes were told to me by Rey Reece Managers "If you want your car you will pay $98". "You signed the Invoice", "If you dont pay us within 90 days we will own your can and we can do with it what we want."You can call the police, an attorney, the B B B. You will pay us"

Let me start by saying I rarely write reviews or give perfect scores but in this case I have to. I brought my 2005 Beetle TDI into Rey Reece because it was running rough and was losing power. When I arrived for my appointment they offered me a Max pass ticket so I thought this would be a good time to try Max and go downtown for a coffee. It took a couple hours for them to call me back with the news that my car was out of warranty by 2 months and it needed to have the glow plugs replaced and the cost was around $350 and it would take the rest of the day to get it done. I told them to do the job and call me when it' ready. The next day Sarah called and said it was done and they got VW to step up and pay for the job under warranty. Wow, I was floored!!! I don't think my car ever ran this good. Keep up the great work!

After reading the reviews below, Im a bit confused. I own a 2002 Jetta Tdi and have had my diesel serviced at Rey Reece since day one and have never experienced anything but great service. The repairs are always explained to me in detail so I know what I spent my money on, and Ive never had to go back because something was wrong. I give Rey Reece two thumbs up....Good job guys, and keep up the good work!

WOW! That?s all I can say after reading the other reviews only one thing I can say. It is very obvious that the other people who have written reviews did not have the opportunity to work With Sean and his awesome crew of technicians. I have on a number of occasions needed auto repair and Sean is always willing to get my car in on the spot. The first time I ever needed his services he and his shop foreman (Kevin?) actually drove to me and helped me get my car started! I recommend Sean Gallagher to anyone that is in need of awesome Volkswagen service. He also works on Saturday!

Cons: avoid the other guy that works with sean (older fellow) very rude and unhelpful

I had disturbingly similar experiences as the others that wrote reviews on this site. I took my Jetta in on a Saturday morning because it was intermittently not starting. I dropped my car off and was told that I'd be called with an estimate soon - of course i had to contact them because the afternoon was quickly slipping away. They finally called me back with an estimate of $185.00. I asked them to itemize the parts/labor over the phone - they couldn't find my paperwork - had to call me back. While I was waiting for them to call me "right back" (an hour later) - the estimate rose to $450!!! I had no choice but to agree to the repairs because I needed my car back. Well, three days later (for which they happily provided a rental car at 50 bucks a day!)....I picked up my car and after running one errand it wouldn't start. Back into Rey Reece I went - I was fast talked, treated poorly, talked down to, etc etc. They insisted that the parts they replaced were defective and it was probably another part and they would have to retest it. Well, I had another mechanic evaluate the decision they made on parts to repair and he agreed it didn't make sense (rotor, distributor, and distributor cap) because those are "running parts" not "starting parts". I made a huge fuss at Rey Reece, finally got them to agree that the old parts taken out were still good (their lead mechanic reviewed them and admitted that they were still good), they had to PULL THEM OUT OF THE TRASH and put them back in my car. They then put a new ignition mechanism in the car and insisted that it passed all tests. A day later (and more rental charges that they did not comp - I was sick of fighting with them) I finally had my car back, 1 week later it was doing the SAME thing again. Now I need to decide if it is worth going back to Rey Reece. Frankly, I am out of patience and ready to find a new mechanic. I was appalled to see the other views on this site.

    Pros: NONE

Cons: Everything! Expensive, poor service, hard to get ahold of, left greasy rags in my car, HORRIBLE experience

Every time I have brought my VW beetle in for service, they have disappointed. Last week I brought it in because my car wasn't starting. They told me it was the fuel pump relay....cost $450......so 4 hours later....I drove the car 4 blocks, went into a store for 20 min., came out and my car didn't start. I took it back......they said it must be the fuel pump, TOO. Didn't admit that the four hours and $450 was unecessary.....charged me another $150 (which they said was a deal) and another 4 hours. Another time I had to bring my car back three times to have things fixed that they broke while supposedly fixing the problem that I brought it in for. Another time I left my car there to have something fixed (that they had broken), left it there for a week, and they just forgot about it. I called to see when it would be ready and they hadn't done anything. It took another week to fix it. The only good thing I can say about that was that they had given me a rental car free of charge (because it was their fault). AVOID the service department.

I don't know where to begin. When I dropped off my car I was kept waiting while the customer service rep argued loudly with upset customers over the phone and in person, right in front of me. I nearly walked out right then and wish I had. After I hesitantly dropped off the car three days went by and they didn't call me with an estimate. When I called them, they had no record of having my car and couldn't find the key. In the end it took about ten days to get the car serviced, and they recommended unnecessary repairs, including work they had performed on the vehicle a few years ago. They claimed it "wasn't in their system", but on another call they did have me in their system. When I finally went to pick up the car I waited and waited because, even though the work was completed, they weren't ready with the paper work. So I sat there while they argued with other customers who had also been jerked around. One common theme: they don't return phone calls.

The work they did seems OK but not great, I am taking the car to another local shop because now it idles too slow and almost stalls. Not good considering I wanted the entire car checked out and tuned up. I should take it back to Rey Reece but don't trust them and can't go a week or more without the car again. The idea with using a dealer to repair your car is that you pay more; but you know the work will be done right and you can trust them. Not so with this outfit: stay very far away. My experience was so bad I won't buy another VW; rather get a Honda.

I've only had bad experiences with these guys. I took my car in for the 40K service, and they left the backseat of my car in shambles. Pieces were taken apart and not put back together (they even left a power drill back there!). They gave me a free oil change as compensation for returning their drill, but lost the dipstick from my car (which i just noticed...jerks). My TDI was running sluggish, and they told me nothing was wrong with it. When i took it to another repair facility I learned that the engine had bad carbon build up that was damaging the engine. I get the feeling they don't care about their customers because they know people will continue to take their cars to the dealership for repairs. Talking with other Volkswagen owners, the more I hear about these guys, the lower my opinion becomes. Needless to say, way overpriced. They do give you a coupon for a free car wash with any repair, so I guess that is pretty good.
