If you like seafood, it's a place to go for dinner. They have a great selection of seafood from all over. Good food, good price.

Just had brunch there with a huge party of people, they accommodated us and our two children outside in the heated patio. The service was pleasant and attentive and the food was good, a great bet for a weekend brunch, although expect to wait if you go later in the am.

is an excellent choice if you want a good selection for those hard to please friends. It is a bit small and can get busy during the peak hours. Look for great happy hour specials and the service is excellent.

Seasons & Regions is an excellent place to eat. They have a wide variety of choices and always had lots of specials to choose from. It is very small inside (not recommended for families) but definitely a special place to go with adults. They also have a large covered and heated patio area that isn't fancy--but the food is. They have very good lunches and happy hour food specials. I particularly like their seafood dishes. Service is always excellent.

This place is just awesome. We decided to check it out after searching for "Seafood" in our GPS when we were in the area house-hunting.

I decided I needed to move to Hillsdale so I could be nearer this restaurant!

The staff is great - always friendly and helpful. The food is delicious and the prices are very reasonable.

Go there for cheap food, or for anything - you won't regret it.

We have been back many times and plan to make this one of our regular spots.

My husband and I have eaten here several times before, and we've always been impressed by the menu selection and freshness of the food as well as the selection and affordability of wines, but the service was always lacking. Until tonight. We spent a lovely evening on the patio with our two children, celebrating our anniversary. Not only was our food incredible (the tomato-basil soup is maybe the best thing ever), as usual, but this time we had excellent service. Prompt, informative, friendly, and oh-so-patient with our five year-olds. We love the local aspect of this restaurant -- locally grown produce, much local seafood, many local wines, and the independent ownership. We will most definitely go back... with friends!

Cons: Plastic chairs, etc. outside

My husband and I have always dined at the "Famous" seafood restaurant downtown in SW Portland for our seafood, but not any longer. We stumbled upon Seasons & Regions last night and we were both in seafood heaven. In addition to the extensive wine and beer list, the menu choices were plentiful. Something for everyone. Our food was perfectly prepared. The portion of fish was very generous. Whereas most other seafood restaurants give you the proverbial 4-6oz portion of fish and fill your plate with the side dishes, Seasons & Regions?? fish portion was at least double that of other seafood restaurants. The homemade desert was amazing as well. And for the quality of the food and the portion size, we felt that the prices were very reasonable. We'll be back.... again and again!

Pros: Amazing food, great prices

Parking is a pain, ambience outside is regrettable; but the food is great (best dessert on the west side...chocolate decadence), I like the wooden tables and the visually accessible kitchen, staff very congenial. Support your local merchant, eat at S&R!

Went here for my birthday dinner with my girlfriend and grandparents. All the food we had was exceptional. Drinks were also good. The tables were small and didn't hold all our plates and drinks well. They have a nie patio for when the weather is good. Waitstaff was really friendly and helpful.

I have eaten at this restaurant more times than I care to mention... I've been there for dinner, happy hour, and brunch. As a dessert fanatic, I can say that the desserts at S&R are some of the best around. The homemade ice cream is amazing. However, despite the great desserts, my favorite menu item is the grilled cheese & tomato soup combo. It's not on the regular menu (it's on the vegetarian menu), but it's to die for. I never knew a grilled cheese & tomato soup could taste so yummy, yet sophisticated. :) They use Tillamook cheese and 7-grain bread - this, coupled with the already great tomato soup, make it something truly delicious, especially on a chilly evening!

If you are in SW Portland i highly recommend visiting Seasons and Regions. It's a smaller restaurant with a good and diverse menu.

What sets Seasons and Regions apart is their Happy Hour Menu. Delicious food and great prices.... Oh yes.... and their KEY LIME PIE and outdoor seating.

ENJOY!

We took an out-of-town guest for a late dinner and arrived during happy hour (ONE hour before closing), sat outside in the bubble, and decided to order from the cheap menu. Indeed, good food, very cheap, good drinks.... service...well, OK, not awful...just spotty. They wanted to close. We've been there before, not late at night, and also had great food, but maybe a bit spendy with drinks. It's a good place. Committment to putting out quality food, but service should be better...I'm sure we'll go back though.

Seasons & Regions isn't only for seafood lovers. Their salads and desserts are my favorites and the cheap eats menu is great too if your timing is flexible. They have outdoor dining which is wonderful in the summertime.

My family and I came here on Valentines day and we loved it! The staff was very friendly and would check in on us often to make sure everything was OK and when we walked in they turned on the heat to make our twins more comfy. The portion of the food was HUGE! I could barely finish half of it! I have been lots of places with my parents and this has definitely the best yet!

Pros: Everything!

This restaurant is a gem, set in what I believe is an old Dairy Queen or other fast food building. The food is seasonal, with a specials menu that usually is almost half the size of the regular menu. The quality of the fresh and perfectly cooked sea food is beyond compare in the Portland area. If this restaurant was downtown, it would be impossible to get a table! Everything is made from scratch, from the wonderful soups, to the fantastic scones that accompany your breakfast selection on the weekends. Fresh Salmon or Halibut dishes run are under $18, including soup or salad, and the portions are large. I usually cannot pass up the crab cakes, which have ALOT of wonderful crab in them, and are always cooked perfectly (never greasy). The cheap eats menu is great, served during certain hours at dinner, this menu has 5-7 selections for $2.95, with a selection that changes each month. Some of the servers are less than attentive, but this appears to be because this place is a little understaffed from time to time. I do recommend this restaurant for small groups, if you have many people in your party, you would have a hard time getting a table, and the bar is very small (too small to wait with more than a couple people).

My boyfriend introduced me to this place and I was a skeptic at first considering it is called a "seafood grill," but there is so much more to it than that. The tomato basil soup is truly the best I've EVER had and everything has a homecooked feel to it. The Gorgonzola Pear & Walnut salad is probably my favorite lunch/dinner entree, but if you go there for one reason, go for breakfast on the weekends!! Their rosemary potatoes, poached eggs, and (GIANT) chorizo burrito are truly to die for. The wait staff is very friendly, but since it is a fairly small place and the popularity is growing, they can get very busy at times and the parking limited. Well worth checking out!

We live nearby, and so we frequent S&R's often. Great happy hour options, and the margaritas are fresh and fabulous. My fall/winter lunch standby is the grilled cheese with tomato and basil soup. You can't beat their breakfasts (frickin' huge burrito anyone?) and the bloody marys bite the hair of the dog just right. We often take out of town guests here and we have never been disappointed.

We have been regular customers for several years and have always enjoyed the wonderful food and service. The seafood is some of the best we've had ever had even in places at much higher prices. Service has always been professional, prompt and friendly. If you like stuffy and pretentious this is not the place for you. The brunch on Saturday & Sunday is one of the best in town and we have never had to wait on Saturday. The parking lot is small but there is always overflow less than a 1/2 block away at the community center. So much easier than downtown.

Definitely one the better seafood spots in town, but a good breakfast is available on Sat/Sun mornings. My personal favorite is the crab cakes benedict, while my husband prefers the smoked salmon benedict. Each comes with a side of country herb potatoes, an orange wedge, and a raspberry scone. It is essential to call ahead and get on the waiting list, and to recognize that they have a VERY, VERY small (minute actually) parking lot. So be prepared to park down the road and walk a bit (not fun in inclement weather). Also be prepared to wait, despite having called ahead. It is quite true that the service is nothing to write home about, sometimes you feel completely and utterly forgotten/ignored. As a result, we have not been there in a long time. We tend to go to Meriwethers instead.

We arrived around 6:00pm Sunday night, 6/3/07. There were two tables open outside and we were seated at one of them.
Our server did not come to our table for 5 minutes to take our drink orders. It took her another 10 minutes to bring them to us and then take our food orders. She was good in that she brought our kids food first ? around 6:40. Unfortunately they were done eating long before we were served our food.
Meanwhile there was a table across from us that had been seated 10 minutes after us and they were served their food 10 minutes before us. Their table was in another servers section so the entire timing issue could have been related to our server only.
We finally got our Caesar salads at 7pm and they were served on very warm plates.
Great food but it was hard to enjoy because the kids were getting restless and our nerves were frazzled.
We may go back but it will be awhile.

Pros: Great food

Cons: Poor service

.

The food was very good; especially the risotto, and the menu had a lot of variety.

The downside was that the service was very brusque, which made our dinner experience disjointed and rushed. The wait staff constantly interrupted our table and had no idea about the basics of proper restaurant etiquette. With dinner prices around the $20 range, I?d expect the wait staff to remember who ordered what and not interrupt conversations and/or rely on customers to remind them. Ever time a server came to the table they interrupted whoever was speaking and, as a result, the flow of our experience.

Most times people go out to eat so they can have a leisurely, enjoyable dinner with conversation and acquaintanceship. So, while we enjoyed the food, we felt rushed, interrupted, and had no desire to stay for coffee or dessert.

Wanted to give a shout out to the crew at Seasons & Regions. My all time favorite restaurant. Best service (because of the best servers anywhere!), best food (because of the best chef anywhere!). Great location, great atmosphere - especially in the summer with the patio dining. Best drinks - made with fresh fruit juices and hand shaken to perfection. Brad's wines are fab! and educational to read and taste his recomendations. I live on the Oregon coast but any chance I can make it to S&R I get so excited I can't stand it! There is no place out here on the coast that can hold a candle to the seafood quality you serve at your place. Thank you so much and hope to see you all soon.

Decided to go to Seasons and Regions last night. As usual, the service and food were wonderful. So different from last week's dining experience at Hunter's Ridge. Having dined here at least 10 times, I don't understand the last review. Were they at the same restaurant? We have never received bad service, one night the server was a little slow. Big deal, slow down and enjoy yourself. The fish is always perfectly prepared, the desserts yummy! Just thought readers might want to know.

What great potential. I checked out the menu ? it looked quite promising. I read the reviews -- some good, some bad, but overall, again, it sounded quite promising.

Unfortunately, both the food and the service were disappointing. Our dinner guests had arrived a few minutes ahead of us; they were already seated, water glasses were on the table, and she had a glass of wine. The server's first words to us were, "Are you ready to order?" Of course we weren't, but we had been there for 10 minutes before we were even acknowledged. When we did order, our server wrote things down, but she still had trouble getting soups and salads right, and when the entrees arrived, one was wrong. These minor inconveniences were quickly remedied, but they shouldn't have happened in the first place.

Two of us ordered stuffed halibut and two ordered halibut cheeks. The stuffed halibut was poached, which should have left the mild fish moist and tender. Instead, it was dry and crumbly. The buerre blanc sauce was a mystery -- it was pink, broken and grainy. The halibut cheeks were encrusted with a very heavy crushed almond breading that globbed onto the cheeks, totally overwhelming them. Sides of polenta and cous cous were OK, but the grilled veggies were overcooked, as were the cheeks.

Our server disappeared after we were served. She did not check back, but returned only to clear our plates and ask if we wanted dessert. Where are the good servers in Portland? A restaurant guest can overlook issues with the food if the service is merely "good." Excellent service can make for a great experience, even if the food isn't great.

How sad that a restaurant with such great potential is such a disappointment. How sad that restaurateurs with promising offerings of great food and service settle for mediocrity.

The soup was good. Our crabcakes not up to Jakes. Eating outdoors (not our request) was a disappointment. We sat at plastic tables, in plastic chairs on a floor that slanted, under a tent with nothing to mitigate the noise. At one point the noise factor became so loud from the tables pushed too close together that it was impossible to carry on a conversation with the person next to you. We were shocked to see a dog allowed next to our table and we were disgusted watching a father at another table next to us change his childs diapers at his table.

I love this restaurant! The food is always excellent. They have a huge menu with lots of choices. Many of the appetizers are big enough for a meal. Food is prepared with the freshest ingredients and tastes delicious. It has quickly become a favorite place to dine among the friends I've brought here. Service has always been fine. The only complaint is parking, which is very, very limited.

It was a busy Friday night in a small but cozy restaurant. We were waiting to meet a friend and decided to have a drink at the bar and wait for a table. What a gust of fresh air! Angus the bartender is one of the city's best kept secrets. His drinks, attitude and service were all superb.

Needless to say, when our third arrived we had decided we were going to remain to dine at the bar. Despite being very busy pouring drinks for all of the other servers in the restaurant, ours were never unreplentished, nor were we ever lacking for service and wit.

A must visit location!

I took a party of 8 for lunch and we were absolutely amazed at how small this place was, but greatly impressed with the quality of the meals & drinks. The staff was fantastic and our glasses were never empty! By the time we left there was no room for the yummy cakes that we kept looking at in the display case so we'll need to return for even more. And they were even willing to modify our meals to our requests which was a great surprise since not many places will do so. What a great place for kids to come to as well (ours were older 11 & 13).
Oh yeah the vegetarian menu is only given out by request so don't be shy. There motto should be ask and you shall receive. Can't wait to go again!

Pros: Service, Food, Drinks and the feeling of just being home.

Cons: Parking can be a bear!!

I have been coming to Seasons and Regions since it first opened and had always been very impressed with both the food and service. Lately however I have found the service to be inattentive and on the last 2 occasions I've dined there, my order was completely wrong and had to be remade as many as 3 times. No explanation was given for the repeated errors and there was no offer for a comp although my partner was done with his meal by the time I even received mine. It's sad to see such a great hidden treasure decline in both service and food quality. I hope that some changes will be made so that I can return in confidence at some point. Until then, I will not be returning.

Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood on the Southwest side, Seasons and Regions serves up fresh seafood with pleasantly unpretentious Northwest flair. The tiny room was a little cramped, and on a friday night, justifiably busy, but we took a seat at the bar and got great service and just as good food. Love the seasonal specialties, like the chinook salmon with pistachio crust, the razor clams and seafood risotto. A nice wine and beer list gave us lots of options to enjoy local pinots and brews.

This place is consistently absolutely out of sight fabuloso. The food is exquisite. EVERYTHING we have ever had here is so delicious. Dessers, seafood, meats, salads, vegetable dishes.... all so good!!!! It makes for a wonderful evening!!! The people who work there are wonderful. The chef is a genius. The service is superb. Did I say the chef was a genius? He often stops to say hello; a nice touch... You can tell the whole staff gets along really well.

husband and I want to explore all the good restaurants in Portland but keep coming back to Seasons for a very good reason. We love the food! We go for a very late lunch when there is no crowd so our service has been fine and the food is still freshly prepared. The sole is wonderful and the vegetables are fresh and crisp. The lunch prices are unbeatable for the quality.

It seems like they are trying to be a little McCormick and Shmick's in the burbs. The food was ok and service was marginal. Nothing about the meal was bad, it just could have been more crisp. The salmon was a little fishy not overly fresh. I think prices are a little high for what you get.

Following my last review, my dining partner contacted the manager, Brad, who agreeing that there is no excuse for poor service, asked us to please try again. And we did. We returned on a Tuesday night. Brad met us, Linda served us. The Pork and Mahi were oustanding as was Linda's service. Linda also makes the best Spanish Coffee I have ever tasted. I tried to rescind my previous review, but was unable to. I would like to compliment Brad, Linda and the Chef on a marvelous meal and evening. Thank you for being so gracious and for being the kind of place I will return to again and again.

Absolutely superb. Second best service I have ever had in a restraunt and far better than anything you usually get in this price range. Food is beyond excellent and is not overly pricey at all for what you are getting. Professional presentation. Deserts are also excellent. Share the Belgain Chocolate Brownie Mousse Cake. It is absolutely the best chocolate cake I have ever had. Large heated and covered outdoor area can add to ambience. I've seen some reviews that complain about the service. I had no such problems nor did anybody near me. I'm wondering if these people are just hard to please or if they all had one bad waitress. The place must be doing something right as it was packed on a very rainy Thursday night and the customers just kept coming. Again, the service was OUTSTANDING!!!

Atmosphere: This place is like a cool friend's basement. with a bar. One should simply expect to come in and relax. The waitstaff does an impressive job of navigating the narrow aisles. Waitstaff is excellent. A very kid-friendly environment. The food is outstanding and the number of choices are amazing. Lots of seafood, lots of beef options.

I was there with my family for breakfast and because of the reviews were very much looking forward to the venture. Each of ordered something different and all six of us felt the food was just ok. I had the crabcake bennidict and I would not spend the money again. We were seated on the patio, which could use a lot of work to create a nice atmosphere. To top it all off, our waitress was a little snot. I will go back to try the happy hour and hopefully not have the same server.

Went there for the first time on a Friday night. Very small, but sooo good. Service was great, food was wonderful, & the dessert was to die for! If parking is a problem, then all you have to do is park at the Jewish Center across the street. If you can walk like 500 ft then you have no problem. Just what I had been looking for here in Portland for seafood since I moved from Florida! Keep up the great work...

This place is a top ten in my book- and I am a single professional who eats out a lot in the Portland area. Also a foodie from way back- so I feel like I do have an opinion in the field! Too bad for the gent in the previous review...you should really give this place another try. The food is, hands down, the best around! The drinks are fun and fabulous and the staff is professional and great to watch gracefully manouver in this tiny place! Dinner and a show! Thanks Seasons and Regions crew- keep up the great work.

I have no idea how this place got a 9.3 rating. First of all, they serve farm raised salmon. The chef said they'd get the wild when it gets cheaper. Okay, so how about some nice spring halibut? But the only non-fried halibut was stuffed with a bunch of stuff. Who needs that on a beautiful piece of spring halibut? The salad was good but the service was terrible. We sat with menus and water for probably about 15 minutes--no drink or bread and I was starving. The coconut shrimp was good but the seafood sampler platter was disappointing. The crab cakes were bland, as was the compote they put on top of the farm raised salmon. This place is way overpriced for the quality. I could go to dozens of better restaraunts in Portland for a lower price.

I've heard their happy hour is ok but I was disappointed when I went here for dinner. The menu sounds good but the chicken dishes are totally bland. Everything about this place screams cheap, except the actual prices. Poor ambiance, unless you like all the kitchen noise and servers running all around you in a very small space. Oh, and beware as you leave the one-way parking lot; you may have to wait behind cars at the take-out window line, as it is too narrow to go around them!

We can't get enough of this place! The fried oysters are the best I've ever had! We asked when they would have razor clams, they took our phone # and called us when they were in. Also the best! The hardest part is choising from so many options. We also love that we can bring our dog to thier covered, heated patio.

Try the margaritas, they are some of the best in PDX!! The chef was very friendly, seated us in the regular dining area when we asked about Happy Hour, after the "hostess" was rude about it, but mid afternoon we didn't want a full meal. We have dined many times in the evening, and all seafood dishes have been very fresh and surprisingly good. Never had any mediocre meals, only service a time or two. Wine list is fair, but appropriate for pairing with seafood. Chef knows his seafood with NW flair. Will return many times!! Don't change a thing!

I've been hearing people rave about this restaurant for quite some time now, but I had assumed it couldn't possibly be as amazing as everyone has made it out to be.....I was wrong. I finally dined there and I was immediately charmed by the cute neighborhood ambience and friendly staff. And most importantly, the food is amazing. The menu is surprisingly eclectic and impressively large. I'm trying to make my way through it and sample every dish. My first visit was 2 weeks ago, and I've been there 4 times since, so I'm off to a good start. I'm hooked. Thankfully it's so inexpensive - I won't need to dip into my son's college fund to support my Seasons and Regions addiction.

How do they do it? The menu has the most amazing variety of selections and I've yet to try anything that wasn't fabulous! Little neighborhood bistro that turns out world class meals at very reasonable prices. $5.95 lunch specials are the best deal in town!

This is the third time I have been to Seasons & Regions- brunch, lunch and dinner. Unbelievable meals and service! Chef Greg is a genious- his dishes are out of this world- I guess that is why they call him the Soup Jedi. I have found my new favorite neighborhood spot. I tell eveyone I know about the place and they all agree with me when they visit. Keep up the great work!
